Purpose The Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope is China’s first X-ray astronomy satellite launched on June 15,2017,dubbed Insight-HXMT.Active and passive thermal control measures are employed to keep devices at suitable temperatures.In this paper,we analyzed the on-orbit thermal monitoring data of the first 5 years and investigated the effect of thermal deformation on the point spread function(PSF)of the telescopes.Methods We examined the data of the on-orbit temperatures measured using 157 thermistors placed on the collimators,detectors and their support structures and compared the results with the thermal control requirements.The thermal deformation was evaluated by the relative orientation of the two star sensors installed on the main support structure.Its effect was estimated with evolution of the PSF obtained with calibration scanning observations of the Crab nebula.Conclusion The on-orbit temperatures met the thermal control requirements thus far,and the effect of thermal deformation on the PSF was negligible after the on-orbit pointing calibration.

Background The plastic scintillator detector(PSD)is one of the detectors in the high energy cosmic radiation detection(HERD)facility,which is designed for gamma-ray detection and a redundant charge measurement.Backsplash will lead to a decrease in PSD’s performance of gamma-ray detection and charge measurement,which should be carefully considered.Purpose Two preliminary segmentation schemes of the PSD and two veto strategies have been proposed to suppress the backsplash effect.In this paper,we focus on the influence of the backsplash caused by gamma rays.The gamma-ray trigger efficiency and identification efficiency were studied in the case of different cell sizes and veto strategies,which can provide guidance on the PSD design.Methods A Monte Carlo simulation based on Geant4 has been performed.To simplify the simulation,the PSD is segmented into 1 cm3 cubes which can be easily aggregated into cells with different sizes during analysis.Results and conclusion Side_Veto can be used as a baseline design of veto strategy,whereas Smart_Veto can be selected as an upgraded design.Both the PSD bar cell with a width of less than 11 cm and the PSD tile cell with a width of less than 20 cm can achieve a sufficiently high gamma-ray trigger efficiency(>80%),which realizes the primary goal of the PSD.Meanwhile,both the PSD bar cell with a width of less than 3 cm and the PSD tile cell with a width of less than 20 cm can ensure a sufficiently high gamma-ray identification efficiency(>80%)for photons up to 800 GeV.

Effect of austenitizing condition on mechanical properties,microstructure and precipitation behavior of AISI H13 steel

The effects of austenitizing temperature(1223,1303,and 1373 K)and holding time(1-1500 s)on the microstructure,mechanical properties,and precipitation behavior of the H13 hot work die steel were investigated.The results indicate a softening phenomenon when H13 steel is austenitized at 1303 K beyond 900 s and 1373 K beyond 600 s,respectively.For the sample held for 1200 s,the tensile strength is found capable of reaching up to 2.2 GPa when quenched from a temperature above 1303 K.Meanwhile,prior-austenite grain size increases with the increase in austenitizing temperature.The kinetic behavior of the precipitates(mainly MC-type carbides)in H13 steel could be elaborated through the principles set forth by the Arrhenius and Avrami equations.Finally,the comprehensive strengthening of the H13 steel was discussed in detail.The results show that the activation energy of the transformed fraction of carbides is higher than that of the diffusion process for common alloying elements(Cr,V,Mo,and Ni)found in the austenite.This suggests that it would be difficult for precipitates to dissolve into the matrix when H13 steel is austenitized at high temperatures.With the increasing austenitizing temperature,the precipitation fraction decreases,and the dislocation density increases.The dislocation strengthening is regarded as the dominant strengthening contributed to yield strength in as-quenched H13 steel.

Acoustic emission(AE)localization algorithms based on homogeneous media or single-velocity are less accurate when applied to the triaxial localization experiments.To the end,a robust triaxial localization method of AE source using refraction path is proposed.Firstly,the control equation of the refraction path is established according to the sensor coordinates and arrival times.Secondly,considering the influence of time-difference-of-arrival(TDOA)errors,the residual of the governing equation is calculated to estimate the equation weight.Thirdly,the refraction points in different directions are solved using Snell’s law and orthogonal constraints.Finally,the source coordinates are iteratively solved by weighted correction terms.The feasibility and accuracy of the proposed method are verified by pencil-lead breaking experiments.The simulation results show that the new method is almost unaffected by the refraction ratio,and always holds more stable and accurate positioning performance than the traditional method under different ratios and scales of TDOA outliers.

Despite of the relatively rare occurrence of alkaline igneous rocks on Earth, they are the most diverse group of igneous rocks due to variations in their mineral assemblages and geochemical compositions. Alkaline igneous rocks are generally characterized by Si undersaturation, and K-Na(and in some cases C) enrichment. Although there is no unified alkaline igneous rock classification scheme, diagrams such as total alkalis-SiO_(2) or K_(2)O-SiO_(2) can be used to classify alkaline igneous rocks. The origins of silica-saturated alkaline rocks(SiO_(2)>52 wt.%) are relatively complex because multiple episodes of magmatism are often involved, therefore most studies have focused on the origins of silica-undersaturated alkaline magmas.Numerous experimental petrological studies have been conducted in the past few decades. Initially, it was considered that enrichment of trace elements was only achieved by low-degree partial melting of mantle peridotite, but the experimental melts could not reproduce the geochemical composition of natural alkaline igneous rocks. Subsequent studies have focused on carbonate-bearing eclogites that represent the average component of subducted oceanic crust. Although experimental studies indicate that silica-undersaturated and alkali-oversaturated melts can be generated from eclogites, some studies have considered that natural silica-undersaturated alkaline igneous rocks are the result of multi-stage source enrichment by incompatible elements. Low-degree partial melts of the mantle can be emplaced in the lithospheric mantle, forming veins consisting of phlogopite, amphibole, and pyroxene. Melting experiments including these components show that the produced melts better reproduce the naturally occurring silica-undersaturated alkaline magmas. Silica-deficient alkaline igneous rocks occur in various tectonic settings. Objective:To investigate a new noninvasive diagnostic model for nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) based on features of tongue images.Methods:Healthy controls and volunteers confirmed to have NAFLD by liver ultrasound were recruited from China-Japan Friendship Hospital between September 2018 and May 2019,then the anthropometric indexes and sampled tongue images were measured.The tongue images were labeled by features,based on a brief protocol,without knowing any other clinical data,after a series of corrections and data cleaning.The algorithm was trained on images using labels and several anthropometric indexes for inputs,utilizing machine learning technology.Finally,a logistic regression algorithm and a decision tree model were constructed as 2 diagnostic models for NAFLD.Results:A total of 720 subjects were enrolled in this study,including 432 patients with NAFLD and 288 healthy volunteers.Of them,482 were randomly allocated into the training set and 238 into the validation set.The diagnostic model based on logistic regression exhibited excellent performance:in validation set,it achieved an accuracy of 86.98%,sensitivity of 91.43%,and specificity of 80.61%;with an area under the curve(AUC) of 0.93 [95% confidence interval(CI) 0.68–0.98].The decision tree model achieved an accuracy of 81.09%,sensitivity of 91.43%,and specificity of 66.33%;with an AUC of 0.89(95% CI 0.66–0.92) in validation set.Conclusions:The features of tongue images were associated with NAFLD.Both the 2 diagnostic models,which would be convenient,noninvasive,lightweight,rapid,and inexpensive technical references for early screening,can accurately distinguish NAFLD and are worth further study.

Accurate profiling of microscopy images from small scale to high throughput is an essential procedure in basic and applied biological research.Here,we present Microsnoop,a novel deep learning–based representation tool trained on large-scale microscopy images using masked self-supervised learning.Microsnoop can process various complex and heterogeneous images,and we classified images into three categories:single-cell,full-field,and batch-experiment images.Our benchmark study on 10 high-quality evaluation datasets,containing over 2,230,000 images,demonstrated Microsnoop’s robust and state-ofthe-art microscopy image representation ability,surpassing existing generalist and even several custom algorithms.Microsnoop can be integrated with other pipelines to perform tasks such as superresolution histopathology image and multimodal analysis.Furthermore,Microsnoop can be adapted to various hardware and can be easily deployed on local or cloud computing platforms.We will regularly retrain and reevaluate the model using communitycontributed data to consistently improve Microsnoop.

Background:Acute gouty arthritis(AGA)is an inflammatory joint disease with a high prevalence.Typical medical interventions,including nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,colchicine and glucocorticoids,can have serious adverse reactions.Huzhang Granule(HZG),a compound Chinese herbal medicine,has been used to treat AGA for more than 30 years with satisfactory effects and no significant adverse reactions.However,the efficacy and safety of HZG in AGA patients remains unknown.Objective:The present investigation was designed to examine the efficacy and safety profile of HZG in managing AGA patients.Design,setting,participants and interventions:The current study was conducted as a noninferiority,randomized controlled clinical trial on 180 eligible enrolled participants.Participants were randomly assigned into the HZG and etoricoxib groups.Treatments were administered for 5 d,during which the HZG group received HZG and placebo etoricoxib,while the etoricoxib group received etoricoxib and placebo HZG in the same ratio(1:1).Main outcome measures:The primary outcome was pain experienced by the patient in the gout-afflicted joint from days 2 to 5 of the treatment window.The pain level was measured via a visual analogue scale,ranging from 0 mm to 100 mm.The secondary outcomes comprised joint tenderness and swelling,reduction of inflammatory biomarkers,and the patient’s and investigator’s global evaluations of therapeutic response.Results:The mean reduction in pain was-51.22 mm(95%confidence interval[CI],[-53.42,-49.03]mm)for the HZG and-52.00 mm(95%CI,[-54.06,-49.94]mm)for the etoricoxib groups.The mean difference between the two groups was 0.78 mm(95%CI,[-2.25,3.81]mm).All additional efficacy endpoints,covering decreased inflammation and pain relief,yielded compelling proof of noninferiority.Patients in the HZG group exhibited a comparatively lower rate of adverse events compared to those in the etoricoxib group(4.44%vs 13.33%;P≤0.05).Conclusion:HZG and etoricoxib groups demonstrated similar levels of analgesic effectiveness

3D printed silicon-based micro-lattices with ultrahigh areal/gravimetric capacities and robust structural stability for lithium-ion batteries

Nanostructured silicon anodes have shown extraordinary lithium storage properties for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)but are usually achieved at low areal loadings(<1.5 mg·cm^(-2))with low areal capacity.Sustaining sound electrochemical performance at high loading requires proportionally higher ion/electron currents and robust structural stability in the thicker electrode.Herein,we report a three-dimensional(3D)printed silicon-graphene-carbon nanotube(3D-Si/G/C)electrode for simultaneously achieving ultrahigh areal/gravimetric capacities at high mass loading.The periodically arranged vertical channels and hierarchically porous filaments facilitate sufficient electrolyte infiltration and rapid ion diffusion,and the carbonaceous network provides excellent electron transport properties and mechanical integrity,thus endowing the printed 3D-Si/G/C electrode with fast electrochemical reaction kinetics and reversibility at high mass loading.Consequently,the 3D-Si/G/C with high areal mass loading of 12.9 mg·cm^(-2) exhibits excellent areal capacity of 12.8 mAh·cm^(-2) and specific capacity of 1007 mAh·g^(-1),respectively.In-situ optical microscope and ex-situ scanning electron microscope(SEM)confirm that the hierarchically porous filaments with interconnected carbon skeletons effectively suppress the volume change of silicon and maintain stable micro-lattice architecture.A 3D printed 3D-Si/G/C-1||3D-LiFePO_(4)/G full cell holds excellent cyclic stability(capacity retention rate of 78%after 50 cycles)with an initial Coulombic efficiency(ICE)of 96%.This work validates the feasibility of 3D printing on constructing high mass loading silicon anode for practical high energy-density LIBs.
