BACKGROUND Peripheral FDG accumulation in a hepatic hemangioma presenting in a patient with prolonged fever is ***,clinicians should pay close attention to patients with hepatic *** SUMMARY A 54-year-old woman with a 4-wk history of daily fevers was admitted to our hospital.A whole body^(18)-Fluordesoxyglucose(PET-FDG)positron emission tomography/computed tomography(PET/CT)was performed to elucidate the source of the ***,whole body^(18)-FDG PET/CT raised the suspicion of a malignant lesion because of peripheral FDG accumulation(SUVmax 3.5 g/mL)higher than that of the normal liver parenchyma(SUVmax 1.6 g/mL)surrounding a hypoactive area,and no other abnormalities were ***,the patient underwent liver mass *** showed a hepatic cavernous hemangioma with fatty infiltration around the *** fever disappeared four days after surgery and the patient did not present any complications during *** Fatty infiltration in the peripheral parts of hepatic cavernous hemangioma may lead to subacute inflammation which further activate the Kupffer *** may cause prolonged fever and peripheral rim FDG accumulation on PET/CT.

The rich phase behavior of block copolymers(BCPs)has drawn great attention in recent ***,the double diamond(DD)phase is rarely obtained because of the competition between the minimization of interfacial energy and packing ***,a rod-coil BCP containing mesogen-jacketed liquid crystalline polymer is designed to acquire ordered bicontinuous network *** reduction of internal energy originating from the orientational interaction among the rod blocks can compensate for the free energy penalty of packing frustration to stabilize the DD *** resulting BCP can also experience lamellae-to-DD and double gyroid-to-lamellae transitions by changing the annealing *** results make the rod-coil BCP an excellent candidate for the self-assembly of ordered network structures,demonstrating great potential in nanopatterning and metamaterials.

The high mortality rate in hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is partially due to the fact that a significant number of patients are diagnosed at an intermediate or advanced stage,with surgical treatment options *** therapy,which involves both locoregional and systemic treatments,has the potential to downstage tumors in selected patients with initially unresectable HCC,thereby making surgical treatment a possibility and potentially increasing long-term *** optimize the conversion rate,it is necessary to maximize successful conversions and clearly define the target population for conversion treatment through a collaborative *** this review article,we summarize the clinical experience and evidence for conversion therapy in patients with‘potentially resectable’HCC from four perspectives:1)defining the target population for conversion therapy,2)selecting the appropriate conversion strategy,placing emphasis on the utilization of combination therapy that exhibits a significant objective response rate,3)determining the timing and urgency of surgical resection,4)promoting the adoption of a multidisciplinary team *** authors are optimistic that with the continuous progress in treatment and a deeper understanding of HCC,the success rate of HCC conversion therapy will increase,and the overall survival of HCC patients will be prolonged.

Retinitis pigmentosa(RP)is a group of genetic disorders characterized by progressive degeneration of photoreceptors and retinal pigment epithelium(RPE)*** main clinical manifestations include night blindness and progressive loss of peripheral vision,making it a prevalent debilitating eye disease that significantly impacts patients’quality of *** exhibits significant phenotypic and genetic *** instance,numerous abnormal genes are implicated in RP,resulting in varying clinical presentations,disease progression rates,and pathological characteristics among different ***,gene therapy for RP poses challenges due to these ***,stem cells have garnered considerable attention in the field of RPE therapy since both RPE cells and photoreceptors can be derived from stem *** recent years,a large number of animal experiments and clinical trials based on stem cell transplantation attempts,especially cord blood mesenchymal stem cell(MSC)transplantation and bone marrow-derived MSC transplantation,have confirmed that stem cell therapy can effectively and safely improve the outer retinal function of the RP-affected ***,stem cell therapy also has certain limitations,such as the fact that RP patients may involve multiple types of retinal cytopathia,which brings great challenges to stem cell transplantation therapy,and further research is needed to solve various problems faced by this approach in the *** comprehensive analysis of the etiology and histopathological changes associated with RP,this study substantiates the efficacy and safety of stem cell therapy based on rigorous animal experimentation and clinical trials,while also highlighting the existing limitations that warrant further investigation.

Objective Keshan disease(KD)is a myocardial mitochondrial disease closely related to insufficient selenium(Se)and protein *** induced putative kinase 1(PINK1)/Parkin mediated mitochondrial autophagy regulates various physiological and pathological processes in the *** study aimed to elucidate the relationship between PINK1/Parkin-regulated mitochondrial autophagy and KD-related myocardial *** A low Se and low protein animal model was *** hundred Wistar rats were randomly divided into 5 groups(control group,low Se group,low protein group,low Se+low protein group,and corn from KD area group).The JC-1 method was used to detect the mitochondrial membrane potential(MMP).ELISA was used to detect serum creatine kinase MB(CK-MB),cardiac troponin I(cTnI),and mitochondrial-glutamicoxalacetic transaminase(M-GOT)***-PCR and Western blot analysis were used to detect the expression of PINK1,Parkin,sequestome 1(P62),and microtubule-associated proteins1A/1B light chain 3B(MAP1LC3B).Results The MMP was significantly decreased and the activity of CK-MB,cTnI,and M-GOT significantly increased in each experimental group(low Se group,low protein group,low Se+low protein group and corn from KD area group)compared with the control group(P<0.05 for all).The mRNA and protein expression levels of PINK1,Parkin and MAP1LC3B were profoundly increased,and those of P62 markedly decreased in the experimental groups compared with the control group(P<0.05 for all).Conclusion Low Se and low protein levels exacerbate myocardial damage in KD by affecting the PINK1/Parkin-mediated mitochondrial autophagy pathway.

The annual distribution characteristics of river runoff in arid regions have significant implications for water resource stability and *** on the mountain runoff data from 1965 to 2018,this study examines the annual change characteristics of monthly runoff of the Shiyang River Basin,Heihe River Basin,and Shule River Basin in the Hexi Corridor,Northwest *** indexes are used and analyzed,including the coefficient of variance,the complete regulation coefficient,the concentration degree and concentration period,the magnitude of change,the skewness coefficient,and the kurtosis coefficient of the annual distribution *** results reveal the following:(1)The inhomogeneity of annual runoff distribution in the Taolai River and the rivers to the west of it,except the Shiyou River,show an increasing ***,the inhomogeneity of the rivers to the east of the Taolai River generally show a downward trend,but the coefficient of variance value is still very high.(2)In the Shiyang River Basin,the annual distribution of the concentration period is characterized by a relatively discrete ***,the Heihe River Basin exhibits a relatively concentrated pattern,and the distribution pattern of the Shule River Basin is quite ***,all concentration periods in the three basins have shifted backward after the 2000s.(3)The Shiyang River Basin exhibits disordered annual distribution curves of runoff in different *** contrast,the Heihe River Basin presents a typical‘single-peak’pattern with a prominent *** Shule River Basin has regular distribution curves,with a gradually significant‘double-peak’pattern from east to ***,there has been a slight change in runoff in the Shiyang River Basin,while the Heihe River Basin and Shule River Basin have experienced significant increases in *** annual distribution curves of runoff in the Liyuan River and the rivers to the east of it exhibit a gentle peak pattern,and th

A model with three-layer structure is introduced to explore the acoustic radiation force(ARF)on composite particles with an elastic thin *** acoustic scattering of cylinder and the thin-shell theorem,the ARF expression was derived,and the longitudinal and transverse components of the force and axial torque for an eccentric liquid-filled composite particle was *** was found that many factors,such as medium properties,acoustic parameters,eccentricity,and radius ratio of the inner liquid column,affect the acoustic scattering field of the particle,which in turn changes the forces and *** acoustic response varies with the particle structures,so the resonance peaks of the force function and torque shift with the eccentricity and radii ratio of *** acoustic response of the particle is enhanced and exhibits higher force values due to the presence of the elastic thin shell and the coupling effect with the eccentricity of the internal liquid *** decrease of the inner liquid density may suppress the high-order resonance peaks,and internal fluid column has less effects on the change in force on composite particle at ka>3,while limited differences exist at ka<*** axial torque on particles due to geometric asymmetry is closely related to ka and the *** distribution of positive and negative force and torque along the axis ka exhibits that composite particle can be manipulated or separated by *** theoretical analysis can provide support for the acoustic manipulation,sorting,and targeting of inhomogeneous particles.

The effect of lanthanum on the characteristics of inclusions in the slab of non-oriented electrical steels was investigated through industrial trials and thermodynamic *** number,size,and chemical composition of inclusions in the surface,one-quarter of thickness and the center of slabs with and without lanthanum addition were statistically analyzed using an automatic inclusion analysis *** the lanthanum-free slab,inclusions were predominately ***_(2)O_(3),MgO,and AlN as well as a small number of Al_(2)O_(3)-MgO-CaO and *** number densities of oxide inclusions and AlN decreased from the surface to the center of the slab,which was ascribed to the difference in cooling intensity during the continuous *** the steel with lanthanum addition,inclusions were modified into LaAlO_(3) and La_(2)O_(2)S and gradually transformed into dual-phase MgO-La_(2)S3 with an increasing distance from the slab surface due to the reaction between the lanthanum-containing inclusion and the steel *** uneven distribution of oxide inclusions along the thickness of the slab was eliminated in the lanthanum-bearing slab because the dissolved oxygen was remarkably decreased by ***-bearing inclusions were more likely to agglomerate AlN by inducing the heterogeneous nucleation of AlN on their surface,while small-size ***_(2)O_(3) inclusions hardly showed a coarsening effect on the size of AlN.
