The primary aim of this study was to analyze the evolving trends and key focal points in research on cellular metabolism of colorectal cancer(CRC).Relevant publications on cellular metabolism in CRC were sourced from the Science Citation Index Expanded within the Web of Science Core Collection *** analysis and visualization were conducted using VOSviewer(version 1.6.18)software and CiteSpace 6.1.R6(64-bit)Basic.A comprehensive compilation of 4722 English-language publications,covering the period from January 1,1991 to December 31,2022,was carefully identified and included in the *** the authors,“Ogino,Shuji”contributed the most publications in this field,while“Giovannucci,E”garnered the highest number of *** journal“Cancer Research”ranked first in both publication volume and ***,“Shanghai Jiao Tong University”emerged as the top contributor in terms of published articles,while“Harvard University”led in citation *** country-based analysis,the United States held the top position in both publication output and citations,closely followed by *** increasing recognition of the significance of cellular metabolism in CRC underscores its potential for novel therapeutic approaches aimed at improving CRC management and prognosis.

Ferroelectric materials hold great promise in photocatalytic water splitting because their built-in electric field induced by the depolarization field can fulfill the separation of photogenerated ***,a number of intrinsic charged vacancy defects are simultaneously generated to screen the depolarized field for stabilizing the crystal structure,always resulting in severe recombination of photogenerated carriers and thus poor overall water splitting ***,we proposed a strategy to promote the separation and transport of photogenerated carriers of ferroelectric photocatalysts by adjusting the ferroelectric polarization and altering the coordination environment of elements to reduce the defect ***,we prepared a series of Ta-doped PbTiO3with low Pb(VPb) and O（VO） vacancy concentrations by reducing the polarization intensity and strengthening the Pb–O *** Ta-doped PbTiO3shows efficient charge separation and greatly enhanced photocatalytic overall water splitting activity with the assistance of *** work highlights the importance of regulating ferroelectric polarization and vacancy defect concentration by the doping strategy in charge separation for photocatalytic water splitting.

Loneliness,social isolation and incident chronic kidney disease among patients with diabetes

Background Individuals with diabetes have a significantly higher risk of developing chronic kidney disease(CKD)and higher levels of social isolation and loneliness compared with those without ***,the American Heart Association highlighted the importance of considering social determinants of health(SDOH)in conjunction with traditional risk factors in patients with *** To investigate the associations of loneliness and social isolation with incident CKD risk in patients with diabetes in the UK *** A total of 18972 patients with diabetes were included in this prospective *** and Social Isolation Scales were created based on self-reported *** adjusted Cox proportional hazard model was used to investigate the associations of loneliness and social isolation with CKD risk among patients with *** relative importance in predicting CKD was also calculated alongside traditional risk *** During a median follow-up of 10.8 years,1127 incident CKD cases were reported.A higher loneliness scale,but not social isolation,was significantly associated with a 25%higher risk of CKD,independent of traditional risk factors,among patients with *** the individual loneliness factors,the sense of feeling lonely emerged as the primary contributing factor to the elevated risk of *** with individuals not experiencing feelings of loneliness,those who felt lonely exhibited a 22%increased likelihood of developing *** addition,feeling lonely demonstrated greater relative importance of predicting CKD compared with traditional risk factors such as body mass index,smoking,physical activity and *** This study indicates the significant relationship between loneliness and CKD risk among patients with diabetes,highlighting the need to address SDOH in preventing CKD in this population.

Background Pork quality is affected by the type of muscle fibers, which is closely related to meat color, tenderness and juiciness. Exosomes are tiny vesicles with a diameter of approximately 30–150 nm that are secreted by cells and taken up by recipient cells to mediate communication. Exosome-mediated muscle-fat tissue crosstalk is a newly discovered mechanism that may have an important effect on intramuscular fat deposition and with that on meat quality. Various of adipose tissue-derived exosomes have been discovered and identified, but the identification and function of muscle exosomes, especially porcine fast/slow myotube exosomes, remain unclear. Here, we first isolated and identified exosomes secreted from porcine extensor digitorum longus(EDL) and soleus(SOL), which represent fast and slow muscle, respectively, and further explored their effects on lipid accumulation in longissimus dorsi *** Porcine SOL-derived exosomes(SOL-EXO) and EDL-derived exosomes(EDL-EXO) were first identified and their average particle sizes were approximately 84 nm with double-membrane disc-shapes as observed via transmission electron microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Moreover, the intramuscular fat content of the SOL was greater than that of the EDL at 180 days of age, because SOL intramuscular adipocytes had a stronger lipid-accumulating capacity than those of the EDL. Raman spectral analysis revealed that SOL-EXO protein content was much greater than that of EDL-EXO. Proteomic sequencing identified 72 proteins that were significantly differentially expressed between SOL-EXO and EDL-EXO, 31 of which were downregulated and 41 of which were upregulated in *** Our findings suggest that muscle-fat tissue interactions occur partly via SOL-EXO promoting adipogenic activity of intramuscular adipocytes.

Short-term displacement prediction for newly established monitoring slopes based on transfer learning

This study makes a significant progress in addressing the challenges of short-term slope displacement prediction in the Universal Landslide Monitoring Program,an unprecedented disaster mitigation program in China,where lots of newly established monitoring slopes lack sufficient historical deformation data,making it difficult to extract deformation patterns and provide effective predictions which plays a crucial role in the early warning and forecasting of landslide hazards.A slope displacement prediction method based on transfer learning is therefore ***,the method transfers the deformation patterns learned from slopes with relatively rich deformation data by a pre-trained model based on a multi-slope integrated dataset to newly established monitoring slopes with limited or even no useful data,thus enabling rapid and efficient predictions for these ***,as time goes on and monitoring data accumulates,fine-tuning of the pre-trained model for individual slopes can further improve prediction accuracy,enabling continuous optimization of prediction results.A case study indicates that,after being trained on a multi-slope integrated dataset,the TCN-Transformer model can efficiently serve as a pretrained model for displacement prediction at newly established monitoring *** three-day average RMSE is significantly reduced by 34.6%compared to models trained only on individual slope data,and it also successfully predicts the majority of deformation *** fine-tuned model based on accumulated data on the target newly established monitoring slope further reduced the three-day RMSE by 37.2%,demonstrating a considerable predictive *** conclusion,taking advantage of transfer learning,the proposed slope displacement prediction method effectively utilizes the available data,which enables the rapid deployment and continual refinement of displacement predictions on newly established monitoring slopes.

Resolving low sulfur reaction activity and severe polysulfide dissolution remains challenging in metalsulfur *** by a theoretical prediction,herein,we strategically propose nitrogenvacancy tantalum nitride(Ta3N5-x)impregnated inside the interconnected nanopores of nitrogendecorated carbon matrix as a new electrocatalyst for regulating sulfur redox reactions in roomtemperature sodium-sulfur *** a pore-constriction mechanism,the nitrogen vacancies are controllably constructed during the nucleation of *** defect manipulation on the local environment enables well-regulated Ta 5d-orbital energy level,not only modulating band structure toward enhanced intrinsic conductivity of Ta-based materials,but also promoting polysulfide stabilization and achieving bifunctional catalytic capability toward completely reversible polysulfide ***,the interconnected continuous Ta3N5-x-in-pore structure facilitates electron and sodium-ion transport and accommodates volume expansion of sulfur species while suppressing their shuttle *** to these attributes,the as-developed Ta3N5-x-based electrode achieves superior rate capability of 730 mah g-1 at 3.35 A g-1,long-term cycling stability over 2000 cycles,and high areal capacity over 6 mah cm-2 under high sulfur loading of 6.2 mg *** work not only presents a new sulfur electrocatalyst candidate for metal-sulfur batteries,but also sheds light on the controllable material design of defect structure in hopes of inspiring new ideas and directions for future research.

The innovation in polymer design to rival conventional polyethylene glycol(PEG)is an important approach to achieving a more sustainable ***,cyclic PEG-like polycarbonates having high molecular weight(4.4–49.5 kg/mol)were enabled through zwitterionic ring-opening polymerization(ZROP)of macrocyclic carbonates(MCs)mediated by N-heterocyclic carbene(NHC).The thermodynamic behavior of polymerization depends on the ring size of *** this process,the ZROP of 11-membered MC was driven by the change of enthalpy(ΔH_(p))which differed from the ZROP of 14-membered MC driven by the entropic change(ΔS_(p)).Cyclic polycarbonates depicted improved thermostability(T_(d5%)≥204℃)and higher glass transition temperatures(T_(g)>–40℃)in comparison to their linear analogues(T_(d5%)≤185℃,T_(g)~–50℃).In addition,the mechanism of ZROP of MC was addressed through computational study.A distinct mechanism of polymerization distinguishable from the well-known NHC-mediated ZROP of cyclic esters was revealed,where the zwitterion from nucleophilic addition to MC,*** intermediate,cannot be ring-opened probably due to the delocalization of negative charge on the carbonate group,but serves as an active center for the *** comparison to PEG,the attained polymer demonstrated comparable hydrophilic and biocompatible properties,as revealed by the results of contact angle and in vitro cytotoxicity studies,suggesting that cyclic polycarbonate hold the promise as the alternative of PEG.
