Engineered SPIONs functionalized with endothelin a receptor antagonist ameliorate liver fibrosis by inhibiting hepatic stellate cell activation

Endothelin-1/endothelin A receptor(ET-1/ETAR)pathway plays an important role in the progression of liver fibrosis by activating hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)-a key cell type involved in the pathogenesis of liver *** HSCs by blocking the ET-1/ETAR pathway using a selective ETAR antagonist(ERA)represents a promising therapeutic approach for liver ***,small-molecule ERAs possess limited clinical potential due to poor bioavailability,short half-life,and rapid renal *** improve the clinical applicability,we conjugated ERA to superparamagnetic iron-oxide nanoparticles(SPIONs)and investigated the therapeutic efficacy of ERA and ERA-SPIONs in vitro and in vivo and analyzed liver uptake by in vivo and ex vivo magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),HSCs-specific localization,and ET-1/ETAR-pathway antagonism in *** murine and human liver fibrosis/cirrhosis,we observed overexpression of ET-1 and ETAR that correlated with HSC activation,and HSC-specific localization of *** and successfully synthesized ERA-SPIONs demonstrated significant attenuation in TGFβ-induced HSC activation,ECM production,migration,and *** an acute CCl4-induced liver fibrosis mouse model,ERA-SPIONs exhibited higher liver uptake,HSC-specific localization,and ET-1/ETAR pathway *** resulted in significantly reduced liver-to-body weight ratio,plasma ALT levels,andα-SMA and collagen-I expression,indicating attenuation of liver *** conclusion,our study demonstrates that the delivery of ERA using SPIONs enhances the therapeutic efficacy of ERA in *** approach holds promise as a theranostic strategy for the MRI-based diagnosis and treatment of liver fibrosis.

This paper examines the stabilization problem of a distributed networked control system under the effect of cyberattacks by employing a hybrid aperiodic triggering *** cyber-attack considered in the paper is a stochastic deception attack at the sensor-controller end. The probability of the occurrence of attack on a subsystem is represented using a random variable. A decentralized hybrid sampled-data strategy is introduced to save energy consumption and reduce the transmission load of the network. In the proposed decentralized strategy, each subsystem can decide independently whether its state should be transmitted to the controller or not. The scheme of the hybrid triggering mechanism for each subsystem composed of two stages: In the first stage, the next sampling instant is computed using a self-triggering strategy. Subsequently, in the second stage, an event-triggering condition is checked at these sampling instants and the control signal is computed only if the event-triggering condition is violated. The self-triggering condition used in the first stage is dependent on the selection of eventtriggering condition of the second stage. Finally, a comparison of the proposed approach with other triggering mechanisms existing in the literature is presented in terms of the sampling instants,transmission frequency and performance measures through simulation examples.

By using a suitable set of the surface energy coefficient, nuclear radius, and universal function, the original proximity potential 1977 is modified. The overestimate of the data by 4% reported in the literature is significantly reduced. Our modified proximity potential reproduces the experimental data nicely compared to its older versions.

This study presents a simple methodology for implementation of all optical JK flip flop for future optical high speed *** scheme utilizes electronic model of JK flip flop for implementation of all optical JK flip flop at the bit rate of 7 Gbit/***,all-optical AND and NOR gates are ***,with the combination of these basic gate structures,the optical model of JK flip flop is *** structure makes use of two optical AND gates and two optical NOR *** technique uses a semiconductor optical amplifier(SOA)as the nonlinear medium to produce considerable amount of cross gain and cross phase modulation to attain truth table conditions of optical JK flip *** this method,the number of gates is reduced as compared to earlier *** time and fall time of 5.6 ps with contrast ratio more than 60 dB are achieved in this design.

In this investigation,all-optical Toggle flip-flop event-driven memory is explored with data rate of 16 Gbit/*** mode optical fiber model is used as a nonlinear medium to generate the output set and reset pulses of a Toggle flip-flop,and the model is based on the bidirectional optical transmission principle,considering the fundamental effects of cross phase modulation and self-phase modulation with change in polarization *** performance of a flip-flop is evaluated using truth table conditions and performance parameters such as Q factor,which is obtained as 380.92 d B for Q and 272.9 d B for■,and rising and falling times of 7.304 ps and 5.79 ps,respectively are obtained,which makes flip-flop design fast as compared to earlier design techniques.

Obliquely propagating electron acoustic shock waves in magnetized plasma composed of stationary ions, cold and non-extensive hot electrons are investigated by deriving Korteweg–de Vries Burgers(KdVB) equation. The tangent hyperbolic method is used to solve the KdVB equation in dissipative medium. The dissipation effect is introduced in the model by means of kinematic viscosity term. The analytical calculations of the KdVB equation shows that the structures(amplitude, velocity and width) of the shock waves are modified significantly with kinematic viscosity(η_0), obliqueness(k_z) and magnetic field(ω_c). Since plasmas are ubiquitously permeated with magnetic field, it is pertinent to explore the characteristics of KdVB equation in a magnetized plasmas.

This paper presents a simple and efficient equation for calculating the Fox depth correction factor used in computation of settlement reduction due to foundation *** solution of Boussinesq theory was used originally to develop the Fox depth correction factor equations which were rather complex in *** equations were later simplified in the form of graphs and tables and referred in various international code of practices and standard texts for an unsophisticated and quick ***,these tables and graphs provide the factor only for limited values of the input variables and hence again complicates the process of automation of ***,this paper presents a non-linear regression model for the analysis of effect of embedment developed using "IBM Statistical Package for the Social Sciences" *** multiple iterations,the value of coefficient of determination is found to reach *** equation is straightforward,competent and easy to use for both manual and automated calculation of the Fox depth correction factor for wide range of input *** the developed equation,parametric study is also conducted in the later part of the paper to analyse the extent of effect of a particular variable on the Fox depth factor.
