Background: The robustness is a measurement of an analytical chemical method and its ability to contain unaffected by little with deliberate variation of analytical chemical method parameters. The analytical chemical method variation parameters are based on pH variability of buffer solution of mobile phase, organic ratio composition changes, stationary phase (column) manufacture, brand name and lot number variation;flow rate variation and temperature variation of chromatographic system. The analytical chemical method for assay of Atropine Sulfate conducted for robustness evaluation. The typical variation considered for mobile phase organic ratio change, change of pH, change of temperature, change of flow rate, change of column etc. Purpose: The aim of this study is to develop a cost effective, short run time and robust analytical chemical method for the assay quantification of Atropine in Pharmaceutical Ophthalmic Solution. This will help to make analytical decisions quickly for research and development scientists as well as will help with quality control product release for patient consumption. This analytical method will help to meet the market demand through quick quality control test of Atropine Ophthalmic Solution and it is very easy for maintaining (GDP) good documentation practices within the shortest period of time. Method: HPLC method has been selected for developing superior method to Compendial method. Both the compendial HPLC method and developed HPLC method was run into the same HPLC system to prove the superiority of developed method. Sensitivity, precision, reproducibility, accuracy parameters were considered for superiority of method. Mobile phase ratio change, pH of buffer solution, change of stationary phase temperature, change of flow rate and change of column were taken into consideration for robustness study of the developed method. Drought susceptibility and low genetic variability are the major constraints of lentil(Lens culinaris Medik.)production *** of an efficient pre-field drought phenotyping technique and identification of diversified drought tolerant lentil genotype(s)are therefore vital and *** separate experiments were conducted using thirty diverse lentil genotypes to isolate drought tolerant genotype(s)as well as to assess their *** both of the experiments,significant(p≤0.01)variation in genotype(G),treatment(T)and G X T was observed for most of the studied *** experiment I,genotypes were examined for drought tolerance at the seedlings stage under hydroponic conditions by assessing root and shoot *** the 30 genotypes studied,BM-1247,BM-1227 and BM-502 were selected as highly tolerant to drought stress as they showed maximum seedling survivability and minimum reduction in growth parameters under drought *** experiment II,the genotypes were assayed for diversity and drought stress tolerance based on morphological traits grown under field *** stress caused a substantial reduction in yield attributing traits,however,the genotypes BM-1247,BM-981,BM-1227 and BM-502 were categorized as drought tolerant genotypes with less than 20%yield *** field screening result of drought stress tolerance was coincided well with the results of laboratory *** divergence study reflected the presence of considerable diversity among the *** laboratory and field screening results,the genotypes,BM-1247,BM-1227,BM-981 and BM-502 were selected as the best drought tolerant *** information can be exploited for further breeding in developing drought tolerance in lentil.

Breeding Potential of Some Exotic Tomato Lines:A Combined Study of Morphological Variability,Genetic Divergence,and Association of Traits

Proteomic Profiling and Protein-Protein Interaction Network Reveal the Molecular Mechanisms of Susceptibility to Drought Stress in Canola(Brassica napus L.)

Drought stress is one of the most important abiotic stresses that plants face frequently in *** drought conditions,many morphological,physiological,and molecular aspects of plants are changed and as a result plants experience a remarkable reduction in growth,yield,and *** expand our understanding of the molecular basis of the plant response to drought stress,the proteomic profile and protein-protein network of canola(Brassica napus L.)were *** focus was to show molecular mechanisms related to canola susceptibility to drought *** experiment used a completely randomized design,implemented in a hydroponic system under greenhouse *** impose drought stress,plants were exposed to Hoagland’s solution supplemented with polyethylene glycol(PEG)6000 for 7 *** drought stress resulted in 161reproducible protein spots in twodimensional electrophoresis of canola *** t-student test showed 21 differentially abundant proteins(DAP),of which 2 and 19 were up and down accumulated,*** spots identified as 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate oxidase and D-2-hydroxyglutarate dehydrogenase showed an increased abundance of 2.11 and 1.77,*** extended protein-protein interaction of differentially abundant proteins and KEGG analysis showed 47 pathways directly and indirectly associated with canola response to drought *** with increased abundance were associated with amino acid and signaling processes,whereas DAPs with decreased abundance were mostly connected with pathways responsible for energy *** results of the study will help to elucidate further the molecular events associated with the susceptibility to drought stress in canola.

Allelopathic effects of Mikania cordata on forest and agricultural crops in Bangladesh

Mikania cordata, an invasive weed is becom- ing a problem in the secondary degraded forests and plantations of Bangladesh, not only competing with but also releasing allelochemicals to cultivated crops. Allelo- pathic effects of the leaves of M. cordata were investigated through an experiment in the green house of the Institute of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, University of Chit- tagong, Bangladesh. Five economically important agricul- tural crops （Oryza sativa L., Triticum aestivum L., Vigna sinensis L., Abelmoschus esculentus L. and Amaranthus tricolor L.） and three forest crops （Acacia auriculiformis A. Cunn. ex Benth. ＆ Hook, Albizia procera （Roxb.） Benth., and Paraserianthes falcataria （L.） Nielson） were used as bioassay species. Experiments were conducted on trays at an average room temperature 27 ~C. The effects of dif- ferent concentrations of leaf extracts were compared to controls. Water soluble allelochemicals of M. cordata inhibited the germination and initial growth of the tested agricultural and forest crops. Germination percent of forest crops declined with increasing concentration of extracts. The inhibitory effect on root elongation of forest crops was pronounced, whereas a stimulatory effect was found on P. falcataria up to a concentration of 25 %. Abelmoschus esculentus showed poor germination （%） and low shoot development （0.5 cm） and no development of taproot or lateral roots at treatment of 100 % concentration. Theinhibitory effect was proportional to the concentrations of the extracts with higher concentrations producing stronger inhibitory effects. Lower concentrations showed some stimulatory effect. The inhibitory effect was pronounced in root and lateral root development rather than germination or shoot development of the crops. Mikania cordata should be eradicated for healthy growth and development of the forest and adjacent agricultural crops.

Selenium: A Game Changer in Plant Development, Growth, and Stress Tolerance, via the Modulation in Gene Expression and Secondary Metabolite Biosynthesis

The presence of selenium(Se)is not widely established as crucial for crops,although it is commonly recognized as an important nutrient for animals as well as *** so,it is inevitably accepted that Se usually contributes positively to the life cycle of ***ﬁndings suggested that small amounts of Se seem to have a productive role in growth and *** a result,Se is assumed to function in multiple ways,primarily by inﬂuencing a variety of biochemical and physiological ***,Se also acts as a plant antioxidant and pro-oxidant and confers tolerance against different abiotic stresses,including salinity,drought,extreme temperature,and toxic metals/metalloids *** reﬂects a defensive barrier against stress by increasing chlorophyll content synthesis,photosynthesis,oxygen supply,osmoprotectant concentration,and secondary metabolite *** other crucial role of Se is its ability to strengthen antioxidant performance in plants,thereby decreasing the concentration of reactive-oxygen-species(ROS).Furthermore,Se generates and modiﬁes genes and proteins that respond situationally to stress,and the presence of high Se concentrations in the growth-medium can cause phytotoxic conditions via excessive ROS production,and through pro-oxidative Se occurrence,suppression of chlorophyll contents in the biosynthetic pathway,and the inhibition of plant developmental and normal physiological *** a phytofortiﬁer,the correct amount of Se can indeed enhance the nutrient quality of both crop and fodder ***,crops have naturally developed ways to combat Se-deﬁciency and *** current review focuses on recent advances in understanding the dynamics of Se,the positive and negative roles of Se in crop management,and its efﬁciency in countering abiotic stress.

Impact of industrial effluent on growth and yield of rice(Oryza sativa L.) in silty clay loam soil

Degradation of soil and water from discharge of untreated industrial effluent is alarming in Bangladesh. Therefore, buildup of heavy metals in soil from contaminated effluent, their entry into the food chain and effects on rice yield were quantified in a pot experiment. The treatments were comprised of 0, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% industrial effluents applied as irrigation water. Effluents, initial soil, different parts of rice plants and post-harvest pot soil were analyzed for various elements, including heavy metals. Application of elevated levels of effluent contributed to increased heavy metals in pot soils and rice roots due to translocation effects, which were transferred to rice straw and grain. The results indicated that heavy metal toxicity may develop in soil because of contaminated effluent *** metals are not biodegradable, rather they accumulate in soils, and transfer of these metals from effluent to soil and plant cells was found to reduce the growth and development of rice plants and thereby contributed to lower yield. Moreover, a higher concentration of effluent caused heavy metal toxicity as well as reduction of growth and yield of rice, and in the long run a more aggravated situation may threaten human lives,which emphasizes the obligatory adoption of effluent treatment before its release to the environment, and regular monitoring by government agencies needs to be ensured.

太阳辐射是人类活动的重要能量来源。太阳能电池是现今最重要的清洁能源之一,光伏（PV）电池消耗功率小,在世界能源领域拥有极好的应用潜力,但现今使用范围并不广泛,与其高额的系统成本息息相关。本论文给出一种低成本的表面聚光器（SMC）的设计,以降低太阳能电池的高额成本。本论文对比多种形态的聚光器,选取一种性能相对较好的聚光器,将光伏电池的效率提高20%以上。通过理论计算和实际检测,选择SMC和PV电池之间合理间距,确保SMC和PV电池紧密接触以防止PV电池被灼烧损坏。菲涅耳透镜聚光器是用于高浓度的强力聚光器之一,菲涅耳透镜用于低成本硅光伏电池组件进行结合,但由于实验条件有限,本论文根据聚光器参数以及低成本硅光伏电池特性建立光学模型,并完成仿真测试。本论文将菲涅耳透镜的像差和PV电池之间距离作为变量,观察光线强度和热量的变化。寻求一种较为理想的距离,并将聚光器固定在此位置。本论文未来工作将放置四个扩展的太阳能电池以覆盖PV电池四周,以收集由透镜和PV电池产生的漫射和反射光。本论文根据填充因子（FF）的取值范围以及太阳高度的不同对PV电池效率的影响,分析了聚光器的光学和几何特性,以及由外部环境因素导致的太阳能吸收率与PV电池的S MC面板倾斜角度的关系。提出了一种自适应控制算法,实现了对PV电池的SMC面板倾角最优化控制。

BioCluster:Tool for Identification and Clustering of Enterobacteriaceae Based on Biochemical Data

Presumptive identifcation of different Enterobaeteriaeeae species is routinely achieved based on biochemical properties. Traditional practice includes manual comparison of each biochem- ical property of the unknown sample with known reference samples and inference of its identity based on the maximum similarity pattern with the known samples. This process is labor- intensive, time-consuming, error-prone, and subjective. Therefore, automation of sorting and sim- ilarity in calculation would be advantageous. Here we present a MATLAB-based graphical user interface （GUI） tool named BioCluster. This tool was designed for automated clustering and iden- tification of Enterobacteriaceae based on biochemical test results. In this tool, we used two types of algorithms, i.e., traditional hierarchical clustering （HC） and the Improved Hierarchical Clustering （IHC）, a modified algorithm that was developed specifically for the clustering and identification of within this species. IHC takes into account the variability in result of 1-47 biochemical tests family. This tool also provides different options to optimize the clus- tering in a user-friendly way. Using computer-generated synthetic data and some real data, we have demonstrated that BioCluster has high accuracy in clustering and identifying enterobacterial species based on biochemical test data.
