Modeling the Black Hole Recoil from the nucleus of M83

GEMInI + GMOS and Chandra emission-line spectroscopy reveal that the Fanaroff-Riley II radio-source J133658.3-295105 is a local object behind the barred-spiral galaxy M83 that is projected onto the galaxy’s disk at about 60' from the galaxy’s optical nucleus. J133658.3-295105 and its radiolobes are aligned with the optical nucleus of M83 and two other radio-sources neither of which are supernova remnants or HII regions. The optical nucleus of M83 is off-centered by 2.7' (≈60 pc) with regard to the kinematic center. Its mass is within the range (1 -4) × 106 and the velocity dispersion at its center points to a non-resolved mass concentration of ≤106 . In this paper we study the circumstances in which the radio source would have been ejected from the central region of M83. We analyze different types of collisions of binary and triple systems of super-massive black holes (SMBHs) by numerical simulations using a Post-newtonian approximation of order 7/2 (~1/c7). We developed an n-body code specially built to numerically integrate the Post-newtonian equations of motion with a symplectic method. numerical experiments show that the code is robust enough to handle virtually any mass ratio between particles and to follow the interaction up to a SMBH separation of three Schwarzschild radii. We show that within the current Post-newtonian approximation, a scenario in which one of the three SMBHs suffers a slingshot-like kick is best suited to explain the ejection of J133658.3-295105, which simultaneously produces the recoil of the remaining BH pair, which drags together a subset of stars from the original cluster forming a structure that mimics the off-center optical nucleus of M83. The simulation parameters are tuned to reproduce the velocities and positions of J133658.3-295105 as well as the optical nucleus and the putative SMBH at its center.

The purpose of this research was to evaluate the nodulation potential of 31 Argentinean soybean commercial cultivars. Those with the highest nodulation capacity response developed twice the amount of nodules than the low nodulating ones, which is the variation contained in soybean genotypes. Furthermore, this was not due to bacterial promiscuity, since the response was independent of the bradyrhizobia strain inoculated. The ability of cultivars to develop a larger number and biomass of nodules was unrelated with the maturity group they belong to and also was not a response to quorum sensing effects. Our results suggest that breeding programs can be aimed at improving the nodulation capacity of soybean and that cultivars from different maturity groups can be a source of nodulation QTLs.

In the present study we report the micellization behavior of imipramine hydrochloride(IMP)in absence and presence of different concentrations of inorganic salts(LiCl,naF,naCl,naBr,and KCl)and ureas(urea and thiourea)over the temperature range from 288.15 to 303.15 *** critical micellization concentrations(cmc)of drug and drug+additive systems were determined by conductometric technique. With increasing temperature the cmc first increases then *** cmc values were obtained at 293.15 K with or without *** presence of inorganic salts the cmc value decreases which is explained on the basis of nature and ion size of the added *** and thiourea also decrease the cmc at low concentrations(0.2 mmo·lL -1 urea and 0.1 mmo·lL -1 thiourea),but,at higher concentrations,increase in cmc is *** related thermodynamic parameters are also evaluated and discussed.

nuclear Activity in Circumnuclear Ring Galaxies

We have analyzed the frequency and properties of the nuclear activity in a sample of galaxies with circumnuclear rings and spirals (CnRs), compiled from published data. From the properties of this sample a typical circumnuclear ring can be characterized as having a median radius of 0.7 kpc (mean 0.8 kpc, rms 0.4 kpc), located at a spiral Sa/Sb galaxy (75% of the hosts), with a bar (44% weak, 37% strong bars). The sample includes 73 emission line rings, 12 dust rings and 9 stellar rings. The sample was compared with a carefully matched control sample of galaxies with very similar global properties but without detected circumnuclear rings. We discuss the relevance of the results in regard to the AGn feeding processes and present the following results: 1) bright companion galaxies seem not to be important for the appearance of CnRs, which appear to be more related to intrinsic properties of the host galaxies or to minor merger processes;2) the proportion of weak bars in galaxies with a CnR is higher than expected;3) the incidence of Seyfert (Sy) activity coeval with CnRs is significantly larger than the rate expected from the morphological distribution of the host galaxies;4) the rate of Sy 2 to Sy 1 type galaxies with CnRs is about three times larger than the expected ratio for galaxies without CnRs and is opposite to that predicted by the geometric paradigm of the classical unified model for AGns, although it does support the hypothesis that Sy 2 activity is linked to circumnuclear star formation. The possible selection effects of the sample are discussed, and we conclude that the detected trends are strong enough to justify high quality observations of as large as possible set of galaxies with circumnuclear rings and their matched control samples.

Interaction between beta-lactum antibiotic drug ciprofloxacin hydrochloride(CFH)and cationic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB)was performed conductometrically in aqueous as well as in the occurrence of different salts(naCl,KCl as well as nH_4Cl)over the temperature range of 298.15–323.15 K at the regular interval of 5 *** drug has been suggested for the treatment of bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections and acute sinusitis.A clear critical micelle concentration(CMC)was obtained for pure CTAB as well as(CFH+CTAB)mixed *** decrease in CMC values of CTAB caused by the addition of CFH reveals the existence of the interaction between the components and therefore it is the indication of micelle formation at lower concentration of CTAB and their CMC values further decrease in attendance of salts.A nonlinear behavior in the CMC versus T plot was observed in all the *** ΔG_m^0 values are found to be negative in present study systems demonstrated the stability of the *** values of ΔH_m^0 and ΔS_m^0 reveal the existence of hydrophobic and electrostatic interactions between CFH and *** thermodynamic properties of transfer for the micellization were also evaluated and discussed in *** dynamic simulation disclosed that environment of water and salts have impact on the hydrophobic interaction between CFH and *** water and salts,CTAB adopts spherical micelle in which charged hydrophilic groups are interacted with waters whereas hydrophobic tails form the core of the *** hydrophobic core region is highly conserved and *** addition,micelle formation is more favorable in aqueous na Cl solution than other solutions.

Triage and Risk Concept: Application Proposal for Pre-Hospital Emergencies in a Psychiatric Ambulance in the City of Buenos Aires

The heterogeneity of clinical presentations in psychiatric emergencies creates difficulties in the response by interdisciplinary Mental Health teams. This is aggravated and difficult when the care is carried out on public roads or the patient’s home, that is, it is a pre-hospital context. Our Psychiatric Emergency Hospital, located in the City of Buenos Aires, provides pre-hospital care with a psychiatric ambulance, which is then referred to general hospitals or other health system providers. not all effectors in the network have the same resources and, at the time of the emergency, the reasons for consultation such as the patient’s clinic are heterogeneous and require the greatest effectiveness in the intervention that is taken. The triage system is a resource that allows the systematization of approaches against the multiplicity of reasons for consultation and presentation of mental pathologies in the emergency room, in addition to providing greater effectiveness in interventions, homogeneity for the health system and consensus among the health effectors. Framed in the Mental Health Law, and especially in the concept of risk, a triage proposal was designed for pre-hospital interventions by the psychiatric ambulance dependent on Hospital Alvear and under current legal regulations with the aim of homogenizing care and referrals with the highest rate of effectiveness to provide quality interdisciplinary medicine.

Dear Editor,Thioredoxins （Trxs） are key components of the redox system that regulates the activity of a spectrum of target proteins through dithiol-disulfide exchange reactions. Trxs are reduced by mem- bers of the Trx reductase （TR） family （Jacquot et al., 2009）. nADP-dependent thioredoxin reductases （nTRs）, the most com-mon type, belong to the family of dimeric pyridine nucleotide disul-fide oxidoreductase flavoproteins that use nADPH as the source of reducing equivalents.

Kappaphycus alvarezii(Rhodophyta): new Record of an Exotic Species for the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica

Kappaphycus alvarezii, a red macroalgal species native to South-East Asia, has been introduced for commercial purposes to more than 20 tropical countries. In 2000, Panama became the first Central American country to develop its cultivation following a pilot-commercial approach. Twelve years after his introduction to Panama, the species was found to the south Caribbean coast. In the present study, we report the first record of K. alvarezii collected in Costa Rican waters. Genetic identification of the sample was performed with the mitochondrial marker cox2-cox3 intergenic spacer, and phylogenetic analyses showed that the sample collected grouped into a monophyletic clade with GenBank sequences from Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Brazil and Venezuela. Here we provide further description of its position with respect to other strains of K. alvarezii collected globally. Its possible route of entry to the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica is discussed. To date, it is possible to locate K. alvarezii in different areas away from the production fields which show its dispersion, and that the species is expanding;but more studies are needed to know the phase of colonization in which it is located because it is a combination of natural factors and human exploitation that determines the invasive potential of the species.

Characterization of Automotive Aluminum AA356 by Photo Thermal Radiometric Spectroscopy

Photothermal radiometric spectroscopy was employed for characterizing an aluminum automotive piston with a steel insert. Amplitude and phase thermal property differences allowed the mapping of both metals. Thermal images were generated by using table stages x-y movement. The thermal wave penetrated more deeply in aluminum than in steel. Results demonstrated that this relatively unknown, non-intrusively, non-contact, and non-destructive technique can be used for characterizing a wide variety of metals and other materials.
