Polybenzimidazolium-reinforced polyimide separators to inhibit dendrites for high-security lithium-ion batteries

Lithium dendrite formation poses a significant safety hazard in lithium-ion batteries（LIBs）, severely impeding their widespread adoption and further technological advancements. Here, we present a novel quaternized polybenzimidazolium（q-PBI） to armor polyimide（PI） nanofiber separator（q-PBI@PI）, in which the q-PBI containing lithiophilicity and anionphilicity sites serves as the multifunctional nano-layers to suppress the Li dendrite and reinforce the mechanical properties of PI nanofiber ***, the q-PBI@PI separator displays an unprecedented mechanical strength of 82.8 MPa, significantly outperforming previously reported PI nanofiber membranes（typically below 50.0 MPa）. Besides, we demonstrate that the q-PBI@PI separator simultaneously possesses low nucleation overpotential（59 mV） and exceptional average coulombic efficiency due to the suppression of Li dendrite. Importantly, q-PBI@PI-based Li||Li battery enables a stable Li plating-stripping at 1.0 m A cm-2for600 h. Attributing to these exceptional merits, the armored PI separator-based LIBs display remarkable specific capability and capacity retention. The density function theory calculations reveal that q-PBI is conducive to the desolvation of Li+and can immobilize Li+and PF6-ions near affinity sites of PI nanofibers for inhibiting the formation of Li dendrites. Our work paves a new avenue for the design of next-generation high-performing separators in LIBs.

The organic-rich shale of the Chang 7 member is the most important source rock in the Ordos *** sedimentary environment and the controlling factors of organic matter enrichment,however,are still in *** this investigation,the Yishicun outcrop,located on the south margin of the Ordos basin,has been considered for the study.X-ray diffraction,polarizing microscopy,field emission scanning electron microscopy and cathodoluminescence(CL)were used to investigate the petrological features of the organic-rich *** content of volcanic ash and the diameter of pyrite framboid pseudocrystals were measured to illustrate the relationship between oxygen level,ash content and the enrichment of organic *** has been found that the diameter of pyrite framboid pseudocrystals has a strong correlation with the total organic carbon,demonstrating that the redox status degree of the water column has a positive impact on the enrichment of organic ***,with an increase in the ash content,the content of organic matter increased at first and then decreased,and reached a maximum when the ash content was about 6%,illustrating that the ash input has a double effect on the enrichment of organic matter.

An efficient lossy link localization approach for wireless sensor networks

Network fault management is crucial for a wireless sensor network(WSN) to maintain a normal running state because faults(e.g., link failures) often occur. The existing lossy link localization(LLL) approach usually infers the most probable failed link set first, and then gives the fault hypothesis set. However, the inferred failed link set contains many possible failures that do not actually occur. That quantity of redundant information in the inferred set can pose a high computational burden on fault hypothesis inference, and consequently decreases the evaluation accuracy and increases the failure localization time. To address the issue, we propose the conditional information entropy based redundancy elimination(CIERE), a redundant lossy link elimination approach, which can eliminate most redundant information while reserving the important information. Specifically, we develop a probabilistically correlated failure model that can accurately reflect the correlation between link failures and model the nondeterministic fault propagation. Through several rounds of mathematical derivations, the LLL problem is transformed to a set-covering problem. A heuristic algorithm is proposed to deduce the failure hypothesis set. We compare the performance of the proposed approach with those of existing LLL methods in simulation and on a real WSN, and validate the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed approach.

The elastic properties of the wurtzite-type aluminum nitride （w-AlN） are investigated by ab initio plane-wave pseudopotential density functional theory method. The pressure dependences of the normalized primitive cell volume V/Vo, the elastic constants cij, the aggregate elastic modulus （B, G, E）, the Poisson＇s ratio （v）, and the debye temperature θD are successfully obtained. From the elastic constants of the w-AlN under pressure, we find that the w-AlN should be unstable at higher pressure than 61.33 GPa.

High expression of TRAF4 in hepatocelullar carcinoma as an independent negative survival and recurrence predictor

Objective: To identify potential tumor markers for the development and recurrence of hepatocelullar carcinoma(HCC), this research studied the relationship between the expression of the tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated factor 4(TRAF4) and tumor angiogenesis together with its survival time of HCC patients. Methods: The expressions of TRAF4,vascular endothelial growth factor and CD34 were performed upon 90 patients with curative liver resection between August 2006 and November 2009 by immunohistochemical method in locally advanced HCC and adjacent non-tumoral liver. The expression of TRAF4 was determined by the Spearman rank correlation. Their prognostic factors on disease free survival(DFS) and overall survival(OS) were guaranteed by Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression analyses. The detection of the levels of vascular endothelial growth factor and CD34 was fulfilled in 90 cases of HCC. Results: TRAF4 expression was both significantly higher in HCC than in surrounding non-tumor tissues(57.8% vs. 22.2 %; Pdependent adverse prognostic factor, DFS and OS in HCC, is associated with increased tumor angiogenesis. The combined detection of TRAF4 in locally advanced HCC is a trustworthy predictive factor for the tumor development and recurrence.

Effects of brinzolamide on rabbit ocular blood flow in vivo and ex vivo

AIM：To investigate if significant improvement of optic disc blood flow（ODBF） occurs after instillation of brinzolamide onto rabbit ***：Testing of bilateral intraocular pressure（IOP） and left ODBF in 10 male rabbits took place every 3 h over a 24 h ***（1% ophthalmic solution,two drops at 9：00 and 21：00） was administered to the left ***,assessed using laser speckle flowgraphy,was determined as the mean blur rate（MBR）.Furthermore,the effect of brinzolamide on isolated rabbit ciliary arteries using isometric tension recording system was ***：After brinzolamide instillation,IOP was significantly decreased in the left ***-vessel was greater at 18：00 and 21：00（P〈0.05） than in the *** and MBR-average were greater at 18：00（P〈0.05） than in the *** isolated arteries pre-contracted with a high-K solution,brinzolamide induced concentration-dependent relaxation,reaching 46.1%±9%（n=21） at 1 mmol/*** Ca^2＋-free solutions,incubation with brinzolamide suppressed 1 μmol/L histamine-induced contractions（P〈0.05）.CONCLUSION：Brinzolamide decreases IOP and increases ocular blood *** direct vasodilatory effect of brizolamide is mediated by suppression of Ca^2＋ release from intracellular calcium stores.

Electrochemical Properties of Tungsten-Alloying-Modified AISI 430 Stainless Steel as Bipolar Plates for PEMFCs used in Marine Environment

To improve the corrosion resistance and surface electrical conductivity of AISI 430 stainless steel （430 SS） as bipolar plates for proton exchange membrane fuel cells （PEMFCs） used in marine environment, a tungsten alloying layer has been successfully prepared on 430 SS substrate via the plasma surface diffusion alloying technique. The tungsten- modified （W-modified） 430 SS displays a 7-8 Ixm tungsten alloying layer with a body-centered-cubic structure. The W-modified surface also shows a better hydrophobicity with contact angle of 93.5~ and a lower interfacial contact resistance compared with the untreated 430 SS. The potentiodynamic and potentiostatic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements show that the corrosion resistance of 430 SS is obviously improved in simulated PEMFC environment （0.05 M H2SO4 ＋ 2 ppm HF ＋ 0.01 M NaC1 solution at 70℃）, after the plasma surface diffusion alloying process.

Efficient intracellular delivery of protein drugs is critical for protein *** combination of protein drugs with chemotherapeutics represents a promising strategy in enhancing anti-cancer ***,co-delivery systems for efficient delivery of these two kinds of drugs are still lacking because of their different ***,we show a well-designed delivery system based on dynamic covalent bond for efficient intracellular co-delivery of ribonuclease A(RNase A)and doxorubicin(DOX).Two polymers,PEG-b-P(Asp-co-AspDA)and PAE-b-P(Asp-co-AspPBA),and two 2-acetylphenylboronic acid(2-APBA)-functionalized drugs,2-APBA-RNase A and 2-APBA-DOX,self-assemble into mixed-shell nanoparticles(RNase A/DOX@MNPs)via dynamic phenylboronic acid(PBA)-catechol bond between PBA and dopamine(DA)*** PBA-catechol bond endows the nanoparticles with high stability and excellent stimulus-responsive drug release *** the slight acidic environment at tumor tissue,RNase A/DOX@MNPs are positively charged,promoting their *** cellular uptake into endosome,further protonation of PAE chains leads to the rupture of endosomes because of the proton sponge effect and the cleavage of PBA-catechol bond promotes the release of two *** cytoplasm,the high level of GSH removed the modification of 2-APBA on *** restored RNase A and DOX show a synergistic and enhanced antic-cancer *** system may be a promising platform for intracellular co-delivery of protein drugs and chemotherapeutics.

Dislocation plays a crucial role in controlling the strength and plasticity of bulk ***,determining the densities of geometrically necessary dislocations(GNDs)and statistically stored dislocations(SSDs)is one of the classical problems in material research for several ***,we proposed a new approach based on indentation size effect(ISE)and strengthening *** approach was performed on a laser powder bed fused(L-PBF)Hastelloy X(HX),and the results were verified by the Hough-based EBSD and modified Williamson-Hall(m-WH)***,to better understand the new approach and essential mechanisms,an in-depth investigation of the microstructure was *** distribution of dislocations shows a clear grain orientation-dependent:low density in largepreferentially orientated grains while high density in fineorientated *** increment of strengthening in L-PBF HX is attributed to a huge amount of *** slip is the main operative deformation mechanism during indentation tests,and the slip step patterns depend mostly on grain orientations and stacking fault *** study provides quantitative results of GND and SSD density for L-PBF HX,which constructs a firm basis for future quantitative work on other metals with different crystal structures.
