the mantle xenoliths from 6 localities along and eastward of the active tanlu fault zone are mostly spinel lherzolite, with few exception of wehrlite. the textures are variable from initial porphyroclastic through granuloblaslic to mylonitic. the analysis of mineral equilibria has revealed that these xenoliths attained to a good state of *** equilibrium temperatures determined by using 3 different methods are 700-1000℃, while the pressures have been estimated to be in a range of 0.9-2.5 GPa. the constructed geotherms have shown that most of the points lie above the theorectical continental geotherm, indicating the existence of an upper mantle diapir associated with tectonic extension known to occur in thus region. the low temperature of mylonitic xenoliths indicates the existence of an active shear zone just below the crust. It might control the development of seismically active zone in this region.

the equilibrium temperature and pressure of both spinel and garnet peridotite xenolithsfrom eastern China have been estimated by using different geothermobarometers that are currentlyconsidered to be *** on these data,the upper mantle geotherm for eastern China has *** obtained geotherm is higher than that for old craton regions,but is similar to that for *** most prominent feature of the geotherm is that there is a slight gradient at about 60 kmdepth,and the inflection of the geotherm just passes through the transition line between spinel and *** is likely that the inflection represents the botmdary between the lithosphere and *** of the upper mantle beneath eastern China have also been discussed by combining the results ofpetrologic,rheological and dynamical studies of the upper mantle.

Multicellular organisms use chemical messengers to transmit signals among organelles and to other cells. Relatively small hydrophobic molecules such as lipids are excellent candidates for this signaling purpose. In most proteins, palmitic acid and other saturated and some unsaturated fatty acids are esterified to the free thiol of cysteines and to the N-amide terminal. this palmitoylation process enhances the surface hydrophobicity and membrane affinity of protein substrates and plays important roles in modulating proteins’ trafficking, stability, and sorting etc. Protein palmitoylation has been involved in numerous cellular processes, including signaling, apoptosis, and neuronal transmission. the palmitoylation process is involved in multiple diseases such as Huntington’s disease, various cardiovascular and t-cell mediated immune disorders, as well as cancer. Protein palmitoylation through the thioester (S-acylation) is unique in that it is the only reversible lipid modification. Our study on lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and deoxynivalenol (DON) treatment to rats provides some insights to the complex role of protein palmitoylation in chemical and microbial toxicity. In contrast, myrisoylated proteins contain the 14-carbon fatty acid myristate attached via amide linkage to the N-terminal glycine residue of protein, and occur cotranslationally. the bacterial outer membrane enzyme lipid A palmitoyltransferase (PagP) confers resistance to host immune defenses by transferring a palmitate chain from a phospholipid to the lipid A component of LPS. PagP is sensitive to cationic antimicrobial peptides (CAMP) which are included among the products of the toll-like receptor 4 (tLR4) signal transduction pathway. this modification of lipid A with a palmitate appears to both and protects the pathogenic bacteria from host immune defenses and attenuates the activation of those same defenses through the tLR4 signal transduction pathway.

Dear Editor, Antibiotic resistance has emerged as a major threat to global health;multi-drug resistant bacteria already kill more patients in the United States each year than HIV/AIDS, Parkinson's disease, emphysema and homicide combined (Laxminarayan et al., 2013).Among the most effective bacterial resistance mechanisms are β-lactamases, a family of enzymes that are divided into four distinct *** A, C and D (serine-β-lactamases, SBLs) use a catalytic site serine residue to initiate inactivation of the antibiotic, while Class B (metallo-β-lactamases, MBLs) relies on a Zn2+-activated hydroxide (Walsh et al., 2005;Bush and Jacoby,2010;Mitic et al., 2014;Lisa et al., 2017).Clinically relevant inhibitors of Class C and D SBLs are available and in use (e.g., clavulanic acid (CA), Drawz et al., 2010), but for MBLs the search for such inhibitors has remained challenging (McGeary et al., 2017).

Exosomes are nanoparticles of endocytic origin, secreted by a myriad of cell populations that are attracting increased attention by virtue of their ability to modulate cell-to-cell communications. they are also attracting attention in a variety of immunological issues, including autoimmunity and, in particular, their ability to regulate cytokine and chemokine activation. Primary biliary cirrhosis （PBC） is considered a model autoimmune disease, which has a highly focused cytotoxic response against biliary epithelial cells. We have isolated exosomes from plasma from 29 patients with PBC and 30 healthy controls （HCs）, and studied the effect of these exosomes on co-stimulatory molecule expression and cytokine production in mononuclear cell populations using an ex vivo system. We also identified the microRNA （miRNA） populations in PBC compared to HC exosomes. We report herein that although exosomes do not change cytokine production, they do significantly alter co-stimulatory molecule expression on antigen-presenting populations. Further, we demonstrated that CD86 up-regulated expression on CD14＋ monocytes, whereas CD40 up-regulated on CD11c＋ dendritic cells by exosomes from patients with PBC. In addition, there were differences of miRNA expression of circulating exosomes in patients with PBC. these data have significant importance based on observations that co-stimulatory molecules play a differential role in the regulation of t-cell activation. Our observation indicated that aberrant exosomes from PBC selectively induce expression of co-stimulatory molecules in different subset of antigen-presenting cells. these alterations may involve in pathogenesis of autoimmune liver disease.
