Background:Conventional drying using heated air oven is commonly used as a method for preserving the product but often affects the nutritional value,taste,and ***,the heat from the drying method can oxidize and destroy heat-sensitive *** steam(SHS)drying uses superheated steam instead of hot air or combustion gases in a direct dryer and was reported better at preserving the nutritional values of food ***:To evaluate the effect of SHS drying on antioxidant properties of tea *** study also compared SHS drying with conventional and freeze-drying ***:Tea leaves dried using freeze drying retained the highest level of antioxidant properties compared to other drying *** leaves dried using SHS exhibited significantly higher radical scavenging activity,ORAC and FRAP values compared to oven drying *** different drying temperatures(150℃and 175℃),oven dried leaves showed significantly higher(p<0.05)antioxidant properties than that of SHS dried *** leaves dried for 60,75,and 90 min using SHS showed significantly higher(p<0.05)FRAP and ORAC values,and also total phenolic content compared to oven dried tea ***:Tea leaves dried using SHS drying method retained higher level of antioxidant properties compared to oven *** drying method also retained lower antioxidant properties as drying time *** study involving SHS drying in food-related fields should be conducted to support its usefulness.

We investigate the influence of population density on radio-frequency inter- ference （RFI） affecting radio astronomy. We use a new method to quantify the thresh- old of population density in order to determine the most suitable lower limit for site selection of a radio quiet zone （RQZ）. We found that there is a certain trend in the population density-RFI graph that increases rapidly at lower values and slows down to almost fiat at higher values. We use this trend to identify the thresholds for pop- ulation density that produce RFI. Using this method we found that, for frequencies up to 2.8 GHz, low, medium and high population densities affecting radio astronomy are below 150 ppl km-2, between i50 ppl km-2 and 5125 ppl km-~, and above 5125 ppl km-2 respectively. We also investigate the effect of population density on the environment of RFI in three astronomical windows, namely the deuterium, hydro- gen and hydroxyl lines. We find that a polynomial fitting to the population density produces a similar trend, giving similar thresholds for the effect of population density. We then compare our interference values to the standard threshold levels used by the International Telecommunication Union within these astronomical windows.

Field surveys indicate lateral variation in peat humification levels （von Post） in dominantly occurring fibric,fibric to hemic,sapric and hemie to sapric peats across a gradient from the margin towards the centre of tropical lowland peat ***-peat stabilisation can be enhanced by adding mineral soil fillers （silt,clays and fine sands） obtained from Quaternary floodplain deposits and residual soil （weathered schist）.The unconfined compressive strength （UCS） of the stabilised cement-mineral soil fifler-peat mix increases with the increased addition of selected mineral soil *** variation in the stabilised peat strength （UCS） in the top 0 to 0.5 m layer was found from the margin towards the centre of the tropical lowland peat *** variations in the UCS of stabilised tropical lowland peats along a gradient from the periphery towards the centre of the peat dome are most likely caused by a combination of factors due to variations in the mineral soil or ash content of the peat and horizontal zonation or lateral variation in the dominant species of the plant assemblages （due to successive vegetation zonation of the peat swamp forest from the periphery towards the centre of the tropical lowland peat dome）.

Higher strength and lower degradation rate of Fe compared to magnesium and zinc have made it the most reliable for orthopaedic ***,this paper studies the morphological and mechanical characteristics of porous Fe fabricated using subtractive manufacturing for load bearing bone *** types of porous Fe(19%,39%and 59%)were prepared and then modelled into a 3D model for finite element *** mechanical properties evaluated through finite element analysis were then validated by the experimental *** fluid dynamics was done in this study to evaluate the permeability and wall shear stress of the porous *** between morphological indices,mechanical properties,shear stress and permeability were then *** mechanical behaviour of porous Fe investigated through finite element analysis was in good agreement with the experimental *** mechanical properties of porous Fe specimen particularly sample C(modulus:5.63 GPa and yield strength:145.7 MPa)was tailored to the cancellous bone(modulus:0.5 GPa-18 GPa and yield strength:101 MPa-169.6 MPa).As the porosity increased,the performance of porous Fe regarding mechanical properties and morphological properties were enhanced.

The global project will focus on an eventual establishment of a holistic understanding of cellular communication, and proposing an ontological approach that expresses the domain’s concepts, classes, and properties in a formal and unambiguous way. However, this ongoing step is about making heterogeneous network technologies explicit and highlighting their commonalities and variabilities. It begins by studying three different cellular technologies, one from each generation (2G, 3G and 4G). After the analysis of Lte-advanced—a fourth generation technology—subject of the first paper [1], Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) cellular network—a third generation technology—is the target of this current analysis. The final objective sought is to build Ontology capable of providing a common view of cellular network technologies.

Current study reports a rapid one-pot non-hydrolytic condition in the synthesis of Sn O2QDs nanopowder using tin(II) stearate(Sn(St)2) as environmentally-benign organometallic precursor,which is an unprecedentedly employed-compound in preceding Sn O2nanopowder *** as-synthesized Sn O2QDs that are hydrophobic can be easily transferred from organic solvent to aqueous solution through a robust ligand exchange *** stearate-capping ligands on the surface of QDs can be replaced by beta-cyclodextrin(β-CD) and eventually render the QDs highly water soluble,which ultimately make it exhibit bi-functionality for different liquid medium *** characterizations reveal that the bi-functional QDs are indeed well-matched with the standard rutile Sn O2cassiterite phase without the presence of any *** QDs can be interchangeably used as photocatalyst for both aqueous and non-aqueous phase,where it shows significant enhancement of hydrogen gas production as compared to that of commercial Sn O2nanopowder.

Sky brightness is an essential topic in the field of astronomy, especially for optical astronom- ical observations that need very clear and dark sky conditions. This study presents the spatial model of sky brightness magnitude in Langkawi Island, Malaysia. Two types of Sky Quality Meter （SQM） manu- factured by Unihedron are used to measure the sky brightness on a moonless night （or when the Moon is below the horizon）, when the sky is cloudless and the locations are at least 100 m from the nearest light source. The selected locations are marked by their GPS coordinates. The sky brightness data obtained in this study were interpolated and analyzed using a Geographic Information System （GIS）, thus producing a spatial model of sky brightness that clearly shows the dark and bright sky areas in Langkawi Island. Surprisingly, our results show the existence of a few dark sites nearby areas of high human activity. The sky brightness of 21.45 mag arcsec-2 in the Johnson-Cousins V-band, as the average of sky brightness equivalent to 2.8 × 10-4cd m-2 over the entire island, is an indication that the island is, overall, still relatively dark. However, the amount of development taking place might reduce the number in the near future as the island is famous as a holiday destination.

In order to help the small-scale farmer, an automatic irrigation control system was proposed. This system will provide an irrigation system that will ease the burden of the citizen to take care of the plant. This system will run automatically by referring to the time set by the user. As the name itself is a water control system, this system will only start irrigating when the time set triggered the water control level for the plant to grow healthily. It will automatically stop when the timer is off (1 hour). The brain of the system is the PLC (Programmable Logic Controller). This is the place where all the activities are done. The irrigation will be provided by a pump that is also connected to the microcontroller. The pump will be activated until the timer has reached its time set. This system will continue running until the user presses the OFF button.
