An earthquake called the MW7.2“El Mayor Cucapah”earthquake on April 4,2010 has been analyzed for seismic *** changes in the lineament system concerning its pattern and time intervals were analyzed during the earthquake preparation period and occurrence using the automated lineament detection *** Landsat 5 TM images were processed using LESSA and ADALGEO software obtaining similar *** statistical analysis revealed the stress accumulation due to plate interaction during earthquake *** study shows that the number of extracted lineaments changes rapidly about 23 months before the earthquake,and the systems return to the initial stage after 23 *** lineaments coincide with the extension of the San Andreas Fault as NW direction is the dominant ***,it can be concluded that the featural changes within the Rose diagram corresponding to the different strokes direction along with oriented elongation lines as disclosed in the present study using satellite images could be identified as a mid-term and/or short-term precursors of the ***,even though the dynamism of the El Mayor Cucapah earthquake is found in the extracted lineaments,it is possible to isolate more significant earthquakes even if new ones appear near the ***,using two algorithms for lineament detection allows for the tectonics to corroborate the obtained lineaments and dynamism.

The present analysis provided the quality assessment of 65 Continuous Operating Reference Stations(CORS) situated in and around Mexico using the data of about ten years(January 2010 to January 2020).To accomplish the assessment,we considered 4 quality indexes for performing the quality check,incluing the multipath effect on L1 and L2 bands,signal-to-noise ratio in both bands,cycle slips,and ***,a new reference parameter named regio nal values for Mexico(RVM) was calculated for the stations situated in ***,an exhaustive analysis of the quality indicators in the worst and best cases was *** signal degradation was proved by a long-term time series and cru stal defo rmation analysis in GAMIT/GLOBK *** results showed a stro ng correlation between integrity,cycle slips and daily observations time,and the multipath effect is strong in the case of outdated *** study indicates that the estimated quality indexes and values could be the basis for establishing new CORS in Mexico,and the errors corrections which cannot be mitigated in the postprocessing stage would greatly help utilize the data for different scientific *** results were supported by deformation analysis in part of Baja California Peninsula in Mexico indicating northern and eastern velocity vector of -3.08±0.02 mm/yr,-7.85±0.02 mm/yr and-0.07±0.03 mm/yr,-9.33±0.02 mm/yr respectively at MPR1 and INEG stations.

Determination and Analysis of Hot Spot Areas of Deforestation Using Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System Techniques. Case Study: State Sinaloa, México

The main objective of this research is to analyze deforestation in State Sinaloa during the period 1990-2014. For this, “deforestationhot-spot areas” were identified, by crossing maps of 1993 and 2011 at a 1:250,000 scale with knowledge from environmental and forest experts from each region. Landsat images from 1990 and 2014 and Terra Amazon System were used to monitor the most critical hot spot area, applying Linear Spectral Mixture Analysis and Image Segmentation Ground Product. In order to generate the map deforestation year zero (1990), every segmented object of ground product was visually assigned to “Forest” and “No-Forest” categories. Therefore, gains and losses were interpreted for the map deforestation year one (2014). Those products were validated with the help of experts on the subject and applying a confusion matrix. Results obtained indicated that the highest forest loss was located in North-Central Sinaloa (hot spot area number two) by establishing the average annual rate of deforestation of 4741.90 ha/year with an average rate of 0.60%, being higher than the national average rate (0.37%). This result affects directlyon calculation of carbonfluxes at nationallevel.

This paper presents a parameter estimation technique for the hot-spot thermal model of power *** proposed technique is based on the unscented formulation of the Kalman filter,jointly considering the state variables and parameters of the dynamic thermal model.A two-stage estimation technique that takes advantage of different loading conditions is developed,in order to increase the number of parameters which can be *** results are presented,which show that the observable parameters are estimated with an error of less than 3%.The parameter estimation procedure is mainly intended for factory testing,allowing the manufacturer to enhance the thermal model of power transformers and,therefore,its customers to increase the lifetime of these *** proposed technique could be additionally considered in field applications if the necessary temperature measurements are available.

Phenol degradation experimental results are presented in a similar wastewater aqueous solution using a non-thermal plasma reactor in a coaxial dielectric barrier discharge. The novelty of the work is that one of the electrodes of the reactor has the shape of a hollow screw which shows an enhanced efficiency compared with a traditional smooth structure. The experimentation was carried out with gas mixtures of 90% Ar-10% O2, 80% At-20% 02 and 0% Ar-100% 02. After one hour of treatment the removal efficiency was 76%, 92%, and 97%, respectively, assessed with a gas chromatographic mass spectrometry technique. For both reactors used, the ozone concentration was measured. The screw electrode required less energy, for all gas mixtures, than the smooth electrode, to maintain the same ozone concentration. On the other hand, it was also observed that in both electrodes the electrical conductivity of the solution changed slightly from ,-0.0115 S m^-1 up to -0.0430 S m^-1 after one hour of treatment. The advantages of using the hollow screw electrode structure compared with the smooth electrode were：（1） lower typical power consumption, （2） the generation of a uniform plasma throughout the reactor benefiting the phenol degradation, （3） a relatively lower temperature of the aqueous solution during the process, and （4） the plasma generation length is larger.
