The carcinogenic potential of iron in colorectal cancer(cRc) is not fully *** is able to undergo reduction and oxidation,making it important in many physiological *** inherent redox property of iron,however,also renders it toxic when it is present in ***-mediated generation of reactive oxygen species via the Fenton reaction,if uncontrolled,may lead to cell damage as a result of lipid peroxidation and oxidative DNA and protein *** may promote carcinogenesis through increased genomic instability,chromosomal rearrangements as well as mutations of proto-oncogenes and tumour suppressor genes. carcinogenesis is also affected by inflammation which is exacerbated by *** studies indicate an association between high dietary iron intake and cRc *** this editorial,we examine the link betweeniron-induced oxidative stress and inflammation on the pathogenesis of cRc.

We survey contemporary studies of hadrons and strongly interacting quarks using QcD's Dyson-Schwinger equations, addressing the following aspects: confinement and dynamical chiral symmetry breaking; the hadron spectrum; hadron elastic and transition form factors, from small-to large-Q2; parton distribution functions; the physics of hadrons containing one or more heavy quarks; and properties of the quark gluon plasma.

Partial discharges(PDs)are symptomatic of some localised defects in the insulation system of electrical *** activity emits electrical pulses in the form of radio frequency(RF)signals which can be captured using appropriate *** analysis of the measured RF signals facilitates localisation of *** study investigates the plausibility of using purely RF received signal features of PD pulses to locate PD at low cost.A localisation approach based on the analysis of these features has been developed,with the assumption that PDs generate unique RF spatial patterns due to the complexities and nonlinearities of RF *** this approach,two distinct frequency bands which hold different PD information are *** location features are extracted from the main PD signal and the two sub-band ***-based feature selection(cFS)is employed for feature selection and dimensionality *** results show that PD location can be inferred from the features of the PD *** application of cFS to PD data reduces the memory/computational demand and improves localisation accuracy.

Purpose To date,no study has investigated the extent to which sleep-wake behaviour(SWB)influences match performance in junior tennis *** study aimed to assess the influence of SWB for the week and night before on match performance,particularly match analytics and *** This study recruited 10 junior state grade tennis players who wore an actigraphy device and completed a sleep diary for the week before their match on two separate occasions throughout their competition *** wore a global positioning system device to track their movement during matches,and an experienced tennis coach recorded players'match *** This study showed that the sleep fragmentation index was significantly lower the week before matches in females who had won than those who had ***,the sleep fragmentation index was significantly lower the night before a given match than the week *** sleep fragmentation index and sleep latency significantly influenced match performance in junior tennis *** percentage of second serves points won differed between match wins and losses for male players,while winners and forced errors differed for female *** These findings provide a detailed profile of tennis match play in junior state grade *** individual differences,reduced restlessness the night before a match coincides with increased match performance.

Most commercially available spine analogues are not intended for biomechanical testing,and the few that are suitable for using in conjunction with implants and devices to allow a hands-on practice on operative procedures are very expensive and still none of these offers patient-specific analogues that can be accessed within reasonable time and price ***-made spine analogues would also avoid the ethical restrictions surrounding the use of biological specimens and complications arising from their inherent biological *** we sought to improve the biofidelity and accuracy of a patient-specific motion segment analogue that we presented *** models were made by acrylonitrile butadiene styrene(ABS)in 3D printing of porcine spine segments(T12-L5)from microcT scan data,and were tested in axial loading at 0.6 ***-1(strain rate range 6×10^-4 s^-1-10×10^-4 s^-1).In this paper we have sought to improve the biofidelity of these analogue models by concentrating in improving the two most critical aspects of the mechanical behaviour:the material used for the intervertebral disc and the influence of the facet *** deformations were followed by use of Digital Image correlation(DIc)and consequently different scanning resolutions and data acquisition techniques were also explored and compared to determine their *** found that the selection of an appropriate intervertebral disc simulant(PT Flex 85)achieved a realistic force/displacement response and also that the facet joints play a key role in achieving a biofidelic behaviour for the entire motion *** have therefore overall confirmed the feasibility of producing,by rapid and inexpensive 3D-printing methods,high-quality patient-specific spine analogue models suitable for biomechanical testing and practice.

Most commercial spine analogues are not intended for biomechanical testing,and those developed for this purpose are expensive and yet still fail to replicate the mechanical performance of biological ***-specific analogues that address these limitations and avoid the ethical restrictions surrounding the use of human cadavers are therefore *** present a method for the production and characterisation of biofidelic,patient-specific,Spine Motion Segment(SMS=2 vertebrae and the disk in between)analogues that allow for the biological variability encountered when dealing with real *** spine segments(L1-LA)were scanned by computed tomography,and 3D models were printed in acrylonitrile butadiene styrene(ABS).Four biological specimens and four ABS motion segments were tested,three of which were further segmented into two Vertebral Bodies(VBs)with their intervertebral disc(IVD).All segments were loaded axially at 0.6 mm·min-1(strain-rate range 6×10-4 s-1-10×10-4 s-1).The artificial VBs behaved like biological segments within the elastic region,but the best two-part artificial IVD were^15%less stiffthan the biological ***-speed images recorded during compressive loading allowed full-field strains to be *** compression of the spine motion segments,IVDs experienced higher strains than VBs as *** method allows the rapid,inexpensive and reliable production of patient-specific 3D-printed analogues,which morphologically resemble the real ones,and whose mechanical behaviour is comparable to real biological spine motion segments and this is their biggest asset.

Two basic motivations for an upgraded JLab facility are the needs： to determine the essential nature of light-quark confinement and dynamical chiral symmetry breaking （DcSB）; and to understand nucleon structure and spectroscopy in terms of QcD＇s elementary degrees of freedom. During the next ten years a programme of experiment and theory will be conducted that can address these questions. We present a Dyson- Schwinger equation perspective on this effort with numerous illustrations, amongst them： an interpretation of string^breaking; a symmetry-preserving truncation for mesons; the nucleon＇s strangeness σ-term; and the neutron＇s charge distribution.
