Currently,intensive research efforts focus on the fabrication of meso-structures of assembled colloidal quantum dots(QDs)with original optical and electronic *** collective features originate from the QDs coupling,depending on the number of connected units and their ***,the development of general methodologies to assemble colloidal QD with precise stoichiometry and particle-particle spacing remains a key ***,we demonstrate that dimers of CdSe QDs,stable in solution,can be obtained by engineering QD surface chemistry,reducing the surface steric hindrance and favoring the link between two *** connection is made by using alkyl dithiols as bifunctional linkers and different chain lengths are used to tune the interparticle distance from few nm down to 0.5 *** spectroscopic investigation highlights that coupling phenomena between the QDs in dimers are strongly dependent on the interparticle distance and QD size,ultimately affecting the exciton dissociation efficiency.

Due to metal leaching and poor catalyst stability, the chemical industry's fine chemical and pharmaceutical sectors have been historically reluctant to use supported transition metal catalysts to manufacture fine chemicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients. With the advent of new generation supported metal catalysts and flow chemistry, we argue in this study, this situation is poised to quickly change. Alongside heterogenized metal nanoparticles, both single-site molecular and single-atom catalyst will become ubiquitous. This study offers a critical outlook taking into account both technical and economic aspects.

A variety of sol-gel entrapped catalysts is available on the chemical market due to the unique advantages offered by these highly porous oxides doped with transition metal catalyst, enzymes or even living cells[1].Catalytic sol-gel lipase immobilizates were rapidly commercialized by Fluka after their invention by Reetz and coworkers in 1995 and have now reached a 2nd generation level of performance[2]. Besides esterification reactions these materials are also excellent catalysts in the kinetic resolution of chiral alcohols and amines, and are recyclable without any substantial loss in enantioselectivity (residual activity of 70% even after 20 reaction cycles).

A novel direct measurement strategy of bottom velocities and shear stresses based on the use of ferrofluids is presented. Such a strategy overcomes some of the limits of state-of-the-art instruments. A preliminary experimental campaign has been carried out in the presence of currents in steady flow conditions in order to test the effects of ferrofluid quantity and of the controlling permanent magnetic force. An alternating current （AC） circuit and a direct current （DC） conditioning circuit have been tested. For velocities larger than 0.05 m/s, the near-bottom velocity-output voltage calibration curve has a monotone parabolic shape. The sensitivity of the instrument is increased by a factor of 30 when the DC circuit is used.

Voltage-gated potassium channels(VGKCs)represent a group of tetrameric signaling proteins with several functions,including modulation of neuronal excitability and neurotransmitter ***,VGKCs give a key contribution to the generation of the action *** are complexed with other neuronal proteins,and it is now widely known that serum autoantibodies directed against VGKCs are actually directed against the potassium channel subunits only in a minority of *** contrast,these autoantibodies more commonly target three proteins that are complexed with alpha-dendrotoxin-labeled potassium channels in brain *** three proteins are contactin-associated protein-2(Caspr-2),leucine-rich,glioma inactivated 1(LGI-1)protein and the protein Tag-1/*** are detected only in a minority of seropositive patients for VGKC complex-IgG and do not significantly associate with Caspr-2 or *** all the cancers described in association with VGKC complex-IgG,lung carcinoma,thymoma,and hematologic malignancies are the most commonly *** will review all the major neurological conditions associated with VGKC *** include Isaacs’syndrome,Morvan syndrome,limbic encephalitis,facio-brachial dystonic seizures,chorea and other movement disorders,epilepsy,psychosis,gastrointestinal neuromuscular diseases,a subacute encephalopathy that mimics Creutzfeldt-Jakob prion disease both clinically and radiologically and autoimmune chronic *** vast majority of these conditions are reversible by immunotherapy,and it is becoming increasingly recognized that early diagnosis and detection of VGKC complex-IgG is critical in order to rapidly start the *** a result,VGKC complex-IgG are now part of the investigation of patients with unexplained subacute onset of epilepsy,memory or cognitive problems,or peripheral nerve hyperexcitability syndromes.

Personality traits and emotional patterns in irritable bowel syndrome

The review focuses on those personality traits(neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness, and conscientiousness), constructs(alexithymia and distressed- Type D personality) and emotional patterns(negative and positive) that are of particular concern in health psychology, with the aim to highlight their potential role on the pathogenesis, onset, symptom clusters, clinical course, and outcome of irritable bowel syndrome(IBS). Personality traits and emotional patterns play key roles in affecting autonomic, immune, inflammatory, and endocrine functions, thus contributing not only to IBS clinical expression and symptomatic burden, but also to disease physiopathology. In this sense, psychological treatments should address those personality traits and emotional features that are constitutive of, and integral to IBS. The biopsychosocial model of illness applied to IBS acknowledges the interaction between biological, psychological, environmental, and social factors in relation to pain and functional disability. A holistic approach to IBS should take into account the heterogeneous nature of the disorder, and differentiate treatments for different types of IBS, also considering the marked individual differences in prevalent personality traits and emotional patterns. Beyond medications, and lifestyle/dietary interventions, psychological and educational treatments may provide the optimal chance of addressing clinical symptoms, comorbid conditions, and quality of life in IBS patients.

Irritable bowel syndrome(IBS)is regarded as a multifactorial disease in which alterations in the brain-gut axis signaling play a major *** biopsychosocial model applied to the understanding of IBS pathophysiology assumes that psychosocial factors,interacting with peripheral/central neuroendocrine and immune changes,may induce symptoms of IBS,modulate symptom severity,influence illness experience and quality of life,and affect *** present review focuses on the role of negative affects,including depression,anxiety,and anger,on pathogenesis and clinical expression of *** potential role of the autonomic nervous system,stress-hormone system,and immune system in the pathophysiology of both negative affects and IBS are taken into *** comorbidity and subclinical variations in levels of depression,anxiety,and anger are further discussed in relation to the main pathophysiological and symptomatic correlates of IBS,such as sensorimotor functions,gut microbiota,inflammation/immunity,and symptom reporting.
