Objective:To examine the association between mothers’health-related quality of life(HRQOL)and their children’s HRQOL and behavior in low-income ***:Mothers of 278 children aged 6-12 years from low-income families were invited to complete the Child Health Questionnaire Parent Form 50(CHQ-PF50)and the Strength and Dif-ficulties Questionnaire(SDQ)for their children as well as the 12-item Short-Form Health Survey version 2(SF-12v2)and the Patient Health Questionnaire-2(PHQ-2).Multiple linear regressions with mother-child pairs as the unit of analysis were performed to examine the associations between maternal and child variables with adjustment of mother-and child-level ***:Compared with the general population,low-income mothers had a lower mean SF-12v2 mental component summary score and their children also had lower mean CHQ-PF50 physi-cal and psychosocial summary scores and SDQ total difficulties *** of mothers with SF-12v2 scores below the population mean of 50 had significantly worse CHQ-PF50 scores and higher SDQ total difficulties *** mother’s PHQ-2 depression status had no association with the child’s CHQ-PF50 ***:Our findings suggest that more attention should be paid to reducing the negative impact of health problems on mothers’daily roles in childcare in low-income families.

Background:To understand the dietary composition of the highly aerial swift(Apodidae),ecologists conventionally depend on the morphological identification of prey items from food boluses or stomach contents,but these techniques are often invasive,require expertise in identification,and often cannot produce accurate identifications at the species ***:DNA barcoding was used to analyse the dietary composition of House Swifts(Apus nipalensis)in Hong Kong,*** samples from five different colonial nest sites were collected between 2019 and *** used universal primers to amplify a region of the cytochrome C oxidase gene from prey DNA in the faecal samples for identification ***:Ten different orders and 44 families from three different classes of Arthropoda were identified in the collected faecal ***,Hemiptera and Diptera were the most prevalent groups of prey found in the *** in the dietary composition of House Swifts during the breeding(April to September)and nonbreeding(October to March)season were also ***,particularly ants(Formicidae),were predominant in the diet during the breeding season,whereas Diptera and Hemiptera were predominant during the non-breeding ***:The prey groups identified in this study were similar to those identified in a previous study of the diet of House Swift,which also suggests a possible role of House Swifts in reducing the numbers of local insect *** study demonstrates the usefulness of applying molecular tools for the dietary analysis of aerial *** local forested areas may be crucial for the maintenance of House Swift population.

Entecavir(ETV)and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate(TDF)are first-line antiviral therapies for patients with chronic hepatitis B(CHB)and reduce the risk of disease progression and liver-related complications,as well as improve survival by effectively suppressing viral ***,since the first publication in 2019 on a lower risk of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)in Korean patients receiving TDF than those receiving ETV,the topic has remained a hot and unsettled *** studies and meta-analyses have yielded conflicting *** HCC takes time to develop,studies are mainly observational to benefit from a larger sample size and longer follow-up that provides a higher statistical power to compare the two ***,TDF was available to CHB patients a few years later than ETV in most countries,thus leading to a difference in follow-up ***,despite studying the same topic,the difference in data sources and available parameters,inclusion and exclusion criteria,and use of statistical methods complicated the interpretation and comparison of the findings and contributed to between-study heterogeneity in *** review describes some caveats in interpreting and comparing the results from these observational studies and *** studies should explore better designed observational studies with high-quality data sources,and aggregation of patient data in metaanalysis to tackle between-study heterogeneity.

Development of An ICR Mouse Bioassay for Toxicity Evaluation in Neurotoxic Poisoning Toxins-Contaminated Shellfish

Objective To develop an ICR （female） mouse bioassay （MBA） for toxicity confirmation and evaluation of neurotoxins （brevetoxins）-contaminated shellfish. Methods Brevetoxins （BTX-B） as a causative agent of neurotoxic shellfish poisoning （NSP） under different shellfish matrices were intraperitoneally injected at different doses into mice to study their toxic effects and to differentiate the range of lethal and sublethal dosages. Their sensitivity and specificity were analyzed with 2 competitive ELISA kits for quantitative determination of standard BTX-B and dihydroBTX-B under different shellfish matrix-diluent combinations. Detection rates of MBA and two antibody-based assays for BTX-B from field NSP-positive shellfish samples were compared. Results BTX-B could be detected in shellfish tissues at concentration of 50-400 μg/100 g under shellfish matrix-Tween-saline media, which were appropriate to identify toxic shellfish at or above the regulatory limit （80 μg/100 g shellfish tissues）. The LD 50 identified was 455 g/kg for BTX-B under general shellfish matrices （excluding oyster matrices） dissolved in Tween-saline. The presence of shellfish matrices, of oyster matrices in particular, retarded the occurrence of death and toxicity presentation in mice. Two antibody-based assays, even in the presence of different shellfish matrix-diluent combinations, showed acceptable results in quantifying BTX-B and dihydroBTX-B well below the regulatory limit. Conclusion The two ELISA analyses agree favorably （correlation coefficient, r 0.96; Student＇s t-tests, P〉0.05） with the developed bioassay.

Piezoelectricity is the electric charge which accumulates in certain materials in response to mechanical stimuli,while piezoelectric nanogenerators(PENGs)converting mechanical energy into electricity can be widely used for energy harvesting and self-powered *** group IV-VI monochalcogenides may exhibit strong piezoelectricity because of their puckered C_(2v)symmetry and electronic structure,making them promising for flexible ***,we investigated the synthesis and piezoelectric properties of multilayer SnSe nanosheets grown by chemical vapor deposition(CVD).The SnSe nanosheets exhibited high single-crystallinity,large area,and good *** strong layer-dependent in-plane piezoelectric coefficient of SnSe nanosheets showed a saturated trend to be~110 pm/V,which overcomes the weak piezoelectric response or odd-even effects in other layered nanosheets.A high energy conversion efficiency of 9.3%and a maximum power density of 538 mW/cm^(2)at 1.03%strain have been demonstrated in a SnSe-based *** on the enhanced piezoelectricity of SnSe and attractive output performance of the nanogenerator,a self-powered sensor for human motion monitoring is further *** results demonstrate the strong piezoelectricity in high quality CVD-grown SnSe nanosheets,allowing for application in flexible smart piezoelectric sensors and advanced microelectromechanical devices.

Objective To investigate the in vivo immunomodulatory and anti-tumor mechanisms of the combined treatment of novel Four-Herb formula(4HF)and doxorubicin in triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC).Methods Murine-derived triple-negative mammary carcinoma cell line,4T1 cells,was cultured and inoculated into mouse mammary ***-six mice were randomly assigned into 6 groups(n=11 in ench):naive,control,LD 4HF(low dose 4HF),HD 4HF(high dose 4HF),LD 4HF+D(low dose and doxorubicin),and D(doxorubicin).Apart from the naive group,each mouse received subcutaneous inoculation with 5×10^(5)4T1 cells resuspended in 100µL of normal saline in the mammary fat *** from the day of tumor cell inoculation,tumors were grown for 6 *** LD and HD groups received daily oral gavage of 658 and 2,630 mg/kg 4HF,*** LD 4HF+D group received daily oral gavage of 658 mg/kg 4HF and weekly intraperitoneal injection of doxorubicin(5 mg/kg).The D group received weekly intraperitoneal injections of doxorubicin(5 mg/kg).The treatment naive mice received daily oral gavage of 0.2 mL double distilled water and 0.1 mL normal saline via intraperitoneal injection once a *** control group received daily oral gavage of 0.2 mL double-distilled *** treatment period was 30 *** the end of treatment,mice organs were harvested to analyze immunological activities via immunophenotyping,gene and multiplex analysis,histological staining,and gut microbiota *** Mice treated with the combination of 4HF and doxorubicin resulted in significantly reduced tumor and spleen burdens(Pmanipulated gut microbiota to favor the anti-tumor immunological ***,immunosuppressive genes,cytokines,and chemokines such as C-C motif chemokine 2 and interleukin-10 of tumors were significantly downregulated(P<0.05).4HF-doxorubicin combination treatment demonstrated synergetic activities and was most effective

Engine spark ignition is an important source for diagnosis of engine *** on the waveform of the ignition pattern,a mechanic can guess what may be the potential malfunctioning parts of an engine with his/her experience and ***,this manual diagnostic method is imprecise because many spark ignition patterns are very ***,a diagnosis needs many trials to identify the malfunctioning *** the mechanic needs to disassemble and assemble the engine parts for *** tackle this problem,an intelligent diagnosis system was established based on ignition ***,the captured patterns were normalized and *** wavelet packet transform（WPT） was employed to extract the representative features of the ignition ***,a classification system was constructed by using multi-class support vector machines（SVM） and the extracted *** classification system can intelligently classify the most likely engine fault so as to reduce the number of diagnosis *** results show that SVM produces higher diagnosis accuracy than the traditional multilayer feedforward neural *** is the first trial on the combination of WPT and SVM to analyze ignition patterns and diagnose automotive engines.

A new bipyridine fused rhodamine-like chelating ligand and the corresponding transition metal complexes of platinum(Ⅱ)and iridi-um(Ⅲ)have been designed,synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray *** photophysical properties and acid-or metal ion-promoted spirocarbon ring-opening properties have been *** platinum(Ⅱ)and iridium(Ⅲ)complexes show a drastic color change in solution with Hg^(2+) ions and emergency of an absorption band at around 450-600 nm,assignable to the absorption band of the ring-opened rhodamine-like *** platinum(Ⅱ)complex was suggested to undergo dissociation with Hg^(2+) ion,based on the corresponding absorption titration *** titration studies of iridium(Ⅲ)complexes were found to suffer from the quenching process,probably due to the presence of a lower-lying non-emissive excited state from the ring-opened form of ligand.
