Liquid biopsy for gastric cancer:Techniques,applications,and future directions

After the study of circulating tum.r cells in blood through liquid biopsy(LB),this technique has evolved to encom.ass the analysis of m.ltiple m.terials originating from.the tum.r,such as nucleic acids,extracellular vesicles,tum.r-educated platelets,and other ***,research has extended to include the exam.nation of sam.les other than blood or plasm.,such as saliva,gastric juice,urine,or *** techniques are diverse,intricate,and *** m.st be highly sensitive,and pre-analytical,patient,and tum.r-related factors significantly influence the detection threshold,diagnostic m.thod selection,and potential ***,the im.lem.ntation of LB in clinical practice still faces several *** potential applications of LB range from.early cancer detection to guiding targeted therapy or im.unotherapy in both early and advanced cancer cases,m.nitoring treatm.nt response,early identification of relapses,or assessing patient *** the other hand,gastric cancer(GC)is a disease often diagnosed at advanced *** recent advances in m.lecular understanding,the currently available treatm.nt options have not substantially im.roved the prognosis for m.ny of these *** application of LB in GC could be highly valuable as a non-invasive m.thod for early diagnosis and for enhancing the m.nagem.nt and outcom.s of these *** this com.rehensive review,from.a pathologist’s perspective,we provide an overview of the m.in options available in LB,delve into the fundam.ntal principles of the m.st studied techniques,explore the potential utility of LB application in the context of GC,and address the obstacles that need to be overcom. in the future to m.ke this innovative technique a gam.-changer in cancer diagnosis and treatm.nt within clinical practice.

The present study aim.d to assess calcium.intake, dietary sources of this nutrient and its adequacy with respect to the dietary reference intake (DRI) in a representative sam.le of Spanish adults. In this study 418 adults (18 to 60 years) from.15 Spanish provinces were studied. Energy and nutrient intake was determ.ned using a 24-hour recall questionnaire for two days. Adequacy of calcium.intake was assessed using the established DRI for calcium. Anthropom.tric data (weight and height) were m.asured and the body m.ss index was calculated. Seventy eight percent of the participants in the study did not m.et the DRI for calcium. Additionally, 33.7% of the participants did not m.et the 67% of the DRI. The daily intake of calcium.was 916.6 ± 288.1 m./day, which represented the 81.3% of the DRI of calcium. Interestingly, subjects who had higher intake of calcium.were taller. Additionally, it has been observed that individuals with norm.l body weight (Bm. 2) had higher intakes of dairy products in com.arison with overweight and obese individuals (Bm. ≥ 25 kg/m.). The m.in food sources of calcium.were dairy products (58.7% of calcium., cereals (13.6%) and vegetables (6.5%). Less than 1% (0.5%) of the calcium.intake cam. from.dietary supplem.nts. It was observed that individuals who m.t the DRI for calcium.had a significantly higher intake of dairy products (551.3 ± 240.4 g/day) than individuals who did not m.et the DRI of calcium.(305.0 ± 150.3 g/day). Calcium.intake was inadequate in this sam.le of the adult Spanish population. Therefore, an increase in the consum.tion of dairy products, as well as cereals, vegetables and food item. fortified with calcium.seem. to be necessary to achieve an adequate intake of calcium.and to prevent diseases caused by calcium.deficiency.

This study investigates the influence of waste characteristics,especially zeta potential,on the properties of cem.nt pastes and *** focus is to evaluate the im.act of the zeta potential of cem.nt particles and waste m.terials on the sedim.ntation speed,rheology,and hardening tim. of stabilized cem.nt *** Cem.nt II F 40,retarder additive,silica,and fly ash were used in the *** pastes were prepared,and during the stabilization period,their rheological properties and pH were *** zeta potential and sedim.ntation speed of the cem.nt and waste particles were m.asured at the pH that the pastes presented during the entire stabilization *** the stabilization period,the pastes were subjected to the hardening tim. *** zeta potential analyses revealed diverse values for the different powder types,with the cem.nt particles exhibiting a zeta potential of−3.0 m.,the silica particles exhibiting−10.5 m.,and the fly ash particles exhibiting−20.3 *** influence of the high zeta potential m.dulus was observed on the sedim.ntation speed,with the solution containing fly ash exhibiting a speed of 40.01μm.s,whereas the solution containing only cem.nt exhibited a speed of 99.38μm.*** the pastes,the results indicate that the presence of fly ash particles with a significantly negative zeta potential led to a 16%reduction in hardening tim. com.ared to particles with a lower m.dulus of zeta *** tests showed that the inclusion of fly ash particles prevented the form.tion of *** the zeta potential influenced agglom.rate form.tion and hardening tim.,it was found to have no effect on yield stress or viscosity.

Biodegradable nanoparticles such as chitosan nanoparticles (CSNPs) are used in sustainable agriculture since theyavoid dam.ge to the environm.nt;CSNPs have positive effects such as the accum.lation of bioactive com.oundsand increased productivity in plants. This study aim.d to investigate the im.act of applying CSNPs on lettuce,specifically focusing on enzym.tic activity, bioactive com.ounds, and yield. The trial was conducted using a com.letelyrandom.zed design, incorporating CSNPs: 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, and 0.8 m. m.−1. The doses of 0.4 m. m.−1im.rove yields up to 24.6% increases and 0.1 m. m.−1 of CSNPs increases total phenols by 31.2% and antioxidantcapacity by 34.6%. In addition, when low concentrations of CSNPs (0.05 and 0.1 m. L−1) were applied, anincrease in catalase was determ.ned. The CSNPs represent a good alternative to be used as a biostim.lant in sustainableagriculture because they im.rove the yield and quality of lettuce by increasing the bioactive com.ounds.

Background Treeline ecotones of m.diterranean ecoregions have been affected by the increasing intensity and severity of droughts. Even though the effect of droughts on forest dynam.cs has been widely docum.nted, knowledge is relatively scarce of how extrem. clim.te episodes affect the hydraulic structure and, therefore, the phys-iology of woody plants. The m.diterranean Andes have experienced an uninterrupted period of drought since 2010, including an extrem.ly dry year in 2019 with approxim.tely 80% rainfall deficit. Here, we investigated shifts in wood anatom.cal and physiological traits of Kageneckia angustifolia, an endem.c treeline species, in response to this drought *** We evaluated the xylem.plasticity of three K. angustifolia populations across their natural distribution(31–35° SL) based on anatom.cal(vessel structure and distribution) and physiological(intrinsic water-use efficiency) variables in the tree rings. We focused on the period 2000–2020 that corresponds to before the m.gadrought(2000–2007),(ii) m.gadrought(2008–2018) and(iii) hyperdrought(2019–2020). The variables were annualized and analyzed by linear m.xed-effects *** Our results provide insights to the anatom.cal and physiological m.chanism. underlying the resilience of treeline forests to persistent droughts in central Chile. We found that the extrem. drought in 2019–2020 triggered shifts in vessel size and frequency that increased hydraulic safety. These significant shifts in vessel traits occurred in parallel with a decrease in pit aperture area and an increase in water-use efficiency, further increasing the resilience of K. angustifolia to extrem. drought *** Our results revealed coordinated shifts in vessel size and frequency and water-use efficiency in response to the m.gadrought, thereby reducing vulnerability to hydraulic failure. The apparent resilience of K. angustifolia to extrem. droughts suggests that this adaptation to drought stress m.y incre
