Afri.an dust storm events (ADE) travel across theAtlanti. Ocean(ADEAO) and reach the Puerto Ri.an coast (ADEPRC), potenti.lly i.pacti.g ai. quali.y and human health. To what extent seasonal vari.ti.ns i. atmospheri. parti.ulate matter (PM) si.e fracti.ns, composi.i.n and sources tri.ger respi.atory-adverse effects to Puerto Ri.ans i. sti.l unclear. i. the present study, we i.vesti.ated the pro-i.flammatory and cytotoxi. effects of PM samples harvested duri.g ADEAO (PM10), ADEPRC (PM2.5 and PM10) and Non-ADE (Pre-and Post-ADEAO and Non-ADEPRC), usi.g BEAS-2B cells. Endotoxi.s (ENX) i. PM2.5 and PM10 extracts and traces of metals (TMET) i. PM2.5 extracts were also exami.ed. i.-6 and i.-8 secreti.n and cytotoxi.i.y were used as endpoi.ts. ADEAO and ADEPRC extracts were found to be more cytotoxi. than Non-ADE and ADEAO were more toxi. than ADEPRC extracts. PM10 extracts from ADEAO and Post-ADEAO caused si.ni.i.ant secreti.n of i.-8. i.-6 and i.-8 secreti.n was hi.her followi.g treatment wi.h PM10 and PM2.5 ADEPRC than wi.h Non-ADEPRC extracts. ENX levels were found to be hi.her i. PM10 ADEAO than i. the rest of the samples tested. TMET levels were hi.her i. PM2.5 ADEPRC than i. Non-ADEPRC extracts. Deferoxami.e si.ni.i.antly reduced cytotoxi.i.y and i.-6 and i.-8 secreti.n whereas Polymyxi. B di. not. TMET i. PM2.5 fracti.ns i. a major determi.ant i. ADEPRC-i.duced toxi.i.y and work i. conjuncti.n wi.h ENX to cause toxi.i.y to lung cells i. vi.ro. ENX and TMET may be responsi.le, i. part, for tri.geri.g PM-respi.atory adverse responses i. suscepti.le and predi.posed i.di.i.uals.

F 40,retarder addi.i.e,si.i.a,and fly ash were used i. the *** pastes were prepared,and duri.g the stabi.i.ati.n peri.d,thei. rheologi.al properti.s and pH were *** zeta potenti.l and sedi.entati.n speed of the cement and waste parti.les were measured at the pH that the pastes presented duri.g the enti.e stabi.i.ati.n *** the stabi.i.ati.n peri.d,the pastes were subjected to the hardeni.g ti.e *** zeta potenti.l analyses revealed di.erse values for the di.ferent powder types,wi.h the cement parti.les exhi.i.i.g a zeta potenti.l of−3.0 mV,the si.i.a parti.les exhi.i.i.g−10.5 mV,and the fly ash parti.les exhi.i.i.g−20.3 *** i.fluence of the hi.h zeta potenti.l modulus was observed on the sedi.entati.n speed,wi.h the soluti.n contai.i.g fly ash exhi.i.i.g a speed of 40.01μm/s,whereas the soluti.n contai.i.g only cement exhi.i.ed a speed of 99.38μm/*** the pastes,the results i.di.ate that the presence of fly ash parti.les wi.h a si.ni.i.antly negati.e zeta potenti.l led to a 16%reducti.n i. hardeni.g ti.e compared to parti.les wi.h a lower modulus of zeta *** tests showed that the i.clusi.n of fly ash parti.les prevented the formati.n of *** the zeta potenti.l i.fluenced agglomerate formati.n and hardeni.g ti.e,i. was found to have no effect on yi.ld stress or vi.cosi.y.

COVi.-19 generates systemati. alterati.ns i. humans both i. acti.e stages of i.fecti.n and over ti.e, called post-COVi. syndrome. Corti.ol i. a hormone that i. overexpressed i. i.flammati.n and cellular stress processes. i.s mai. functi.n i. to return to physi.logi.al homeostasi., so i.s evaluati.n together wi.h other cli.i.al parameters can allow us to determi.e the degree of systemi. affectati.n by COVi.-19. Objecti.e: To evaluate changes i. cli.i.al parameters and plasma corti.ol concentrati.ns i. pati.nts wi.h acti.e COVi.-19 and post-COVi. syndrome. Materi.l and Methods: Healthy pati.nts, i. stages of mi.d i.fecti.n, cri.i.al and wi.h post-COVi. syndrome, were recrui.ed, obtai.i.g, through cli.i.al di.gnoses and i.tervi.ws, thei. mai. cli.i.al characteri.ti.s, i. addi.i.n to plasma, i. whi.h corti.ol concentrati.ns were determi.ed usi.g competi.i.e ELi.A. Results: The cri.i.al stage group had hi.her frequenci.s of comorbi.i.i.s, cli.i.al symptoms, as well as more altered laboratory parameters compared to the other subgroups. i. the post-COVi. syndrome group after the i.i.i.l i.fecti.n, most laboratory parameters recovered, however, several cli.i.al symptoms remai.ed latent over ti.e. The determi.ati.n of corti.ol showed an i.crease i. i.s concentrati.n, bei.g hi.her i. pati.nts i. cri.i.al stage and wi.h post-COVi. syndrome. Conclusi.n: COVi.-19 di.ease generates cli.i.al alterati.ns that tri.ger an i.crease i. plasma corti.ol. These alterati.ns i.crease as the stages of i.fecti.n become more severe and some of them remai. altered i. pati.nts wi.h post-COVi. syndrome.
