Associations between parental adherence to healthy lifestyles and cognitive performance in offspring:A prospective cohort study in China

Background:Previous studies have reported associations of specific maternal and paternal lifestyle factors with offspring’s cognitive development during early childhood.This study aimed to investigate the prospective associations between overall parental lifestyle and offspring’s cognitive performance during adolescence and young adulthood in China.Methods:We included 2531 adolescents aged 10-15 years at baseline in 2010 from the China Family Panel Studies.A healthy parental lifestyle score(ranged 0-5)was constructed based on the following five modifiable lifestyle factors:Smoking,drinking,exercise,sleep,and diet.Generalized estimating equation models were used to examine the association between baseline parental healthy lifestyle scores and offspring’s fluid and crystallized intelligence in subsequent years(2012,2014,2016,and 2018).Results:Offspring in the top tertile of parental healthy lifestyle scores performed better in overall fluid intelligence(multivariable-adjusted β=0.53,95%confidence interval[CI]:0.29-0.77)and overall crystallized intelligence(multivariable-adjusted β=0.35,95%CI:0.16-0.54)than those in the bottom tertile of parental healthy lifestyle scores.The results were similar after further adjustment for the offspring’s healthy lifestyle scores and persisted across the subgroups of parental socioeconomic status.Additionally,maternal and paternal healthy lifestyle scores were independently associated with better offspring’s cognitive performance,with significant contribution observed for paternal never-smoking,weekly exercise,and diversified diet.When both parents and offspring adhered to a healthier lifestyle,we observed the highest level of the offspring’s overall crystallized intelligence.Conclusions:Our study indicates that parental adherence to a healthier lifestyle is associated with significantly better offspring’s cognitive performance during adolescence and early adulthood,regardless of socioeconomic status.These findings highlight the potential cognitive benefits of promoting healthy lif

Multicellular organisms such as plants contain various cell types with specialized functions.Analyzing the characteristics of each cell type reveals specific cell functions and enhances our understanding of organization and function at the organismal level.Guard cells(GCs)are specialized epidermal cells that regulate the movement of the stomata and gaseous exchange,and provide a model genetic system for analyzing cell fate,signaling,and function.Several proteomics analyses of GC are available,but these are limited in depth.Here we used enzymatic isolation and flow cytometry to enrich GC and mesophyll cell protoplasts and perform in-depth proteomics in these two major cell types in Arabidopsis leaves.We identified approximately 3,000 proteins not previously found in the GC proteome and more than600 proteins that may be specific to GC.The depth of our proteomics enabled us to uncover a guard cell-specific kinase cascade whereby Raf15and Snf1-related kinase2.6(SnRK2.6)/OST1(open stomata 1)mediate abscisic acid(ABA)-induced stomatal closure.RAF15 directly phosphorylated SnRK2.6/OST1 at the conserved Ser175 residue in its activation loop and was sufficient to reactivate the inactive form of SnRK2.6/OST1.ABAtriggered SnRK2.6/OST1 activation and stomatal closure was impaired in raf15 mutants.We also showed enrichment of enzymes and flavone metabolism in GC,and consistent,dramatic accumulation of flavone metabolites.Our study answers the long-standing question of how ABA activates SnRK2.6/OST1 in GCs and represents a resource potentially providing further insights into the molecular basis of GC and mesophyll cell development,metabolism,structure,and function.

Low molecular weight protein tyrosine phosphatase(LWM-PTP),also known as acid phosphatase,is a highly conserved tyrosine phosphatase in living organisms.However,the function of LWM-PTP homolog has not been reported yet in plants.Here,we revealed a homolog of acid phosphatase,APH,in Arabidopsis plants,is a functional protein tyrosine phosphatase.The aph mutants are hyposensitive to ABA in post-germination growth.We performed an anti-phosphotyrosine antibody-based quantitative phosphoproteomics in wild-type and aph mutant and identified hundreds of putative targets of APH,including multiple splicing factors and other transcriptional regulators.Consistently,RNA-seq analysis revealed that the expression of ABA-highly-responsive genes is suppressed in aph mutants.Thus,APH regulates the ABA-responsive gene expressions by regulating the tyrosine phosphorylation of multiple splicing factors and other post-transcriptional regulators.We also revealed that Tyr383 in RAF9,a member of B2 and B3 RAF kinases that phosphorylate and activate SnRK2s in the ABA signaling pathway,is a direct target site of APH.Phosphorylation of Tyr383 is essential for RAF9 activity.Our results uncovered a crucial function of APH in ABA-induced tyrosine phosphorylation in Arabidopsis.

Proteomic characteristics of the liver and skeletal muscle in the Chinese tree shrew(Tupaia belangeri chinensis)

Valid animal models are useful for studying the pathophysiology of specific disorders,such as neural disease,diabetes and cancer.Previous molecular phylogeny studies indicate that the tree shrew is in the same order as(or a close sister to)primates,and thus may be an ideal model in which to study human disease.In this study,the proteome of liver and muscle tissue in tree the shrew was identified by combining peptide fractionation and LC-MS/MS identification.In total,2146 proteins were detected,including 1759 proteins in liver samples and 885 proteins in skeletal muscle samples from the tree shrew.Further sub-source analysis revealed that nearly half of the identified proteins(846 proteins and 418 proteins)were derived from human database.In this study,we are the first to describe the characteristics of the proteome from the liver and skeletal muscle of the tree shrew.Phylogenetic tree analysis based on these proteomic data showed that the tree shrew is closer to primates(human)than to glires(the mouse and rat).

钢-混工字组合连续梁桥地震易损性及其影响参数分析

以一座3×40m钢-混工字组合连续梁桥为依托,通过SAP2000建立不同墩高、不同上部结构荷载及不同上部主梁截面等全桥非线性有限元模型。选取峰值地面加速度(PGA)作为地震动强度参数,以桥墩位移延性比为损伤指标确定了完全破坏、严重破坏、中等破坏、轻微破坏、基本完好等5种结构破坏状态,分析了不同PGA作用下的桥墩易损性。研究结果表明:对于钢-混工字组合连续梁桥,相同桥墩截面尺寸、同一峰值地面加速度(PGA)下,桥墩高度越高,各个破坏状态的超越概率越小,其破坏风险越小;在合理的上部结构设计前提下,增加上部结构荷载,会降低桥墩的抗震性能;相同的下部结构布置,上部主梁采用钢-混组合结构,其桥墩易损性破坏概率要比同跨径的钢筋混凝土T型梁桥小,抗震性能更优越。建议桥梁抗震设计时重点关注上述因素的影响。

针对隧道通风采用的分档控制与模糊控制的各自缺点,提出一种基于LSTM交通流预测的模糊PID智能算法。利用LSTM算法预测未来的污染物趋势,按照计算出的需风量提前开启风机,改善系统的滞后性,并利用模糊PID算法对风机进行精确控制。引入物联网技术,构建“互联网+隧道通风”的控制系统,利用PLC网关将采集的数据上传至云平台,供运营商随时随地查看隧道各节点的数据并对设备进行远程调控。仿真实验数据表明,算法超调量为4%,调节时间较模糊控制缩短68.60%,并具有较强的鲁棒性。

目的探讨导尿管相关性尿路感染(CAUTI)防护策略的制定及实施效果。方法纳入94例留置导尿管的患者资料进行回顾性分析,患者就诊时间为2021年1月至2022年2月,就诊医院为江苏省海安市人民医院,根据护理模式的不同将其分为观察组(47例)和对照组(47例)。对照组采用传统护理模式,观察组在对照组的基础上采用CAUTI防护策略。比较2组的CAUTI发生率、首次排尿量、首次排尿时间和护理满意度,并比较2组干预前、干预2周和干预1个月后的血清正五聚体蛋白-3(PTX-3)、寡聚化结构域样受体蛋白3(NLRP3)、降钙素原(PCT)水平,以及血清免疫球蛋白M(IgM)、免疫球蛋白A(IgA)、免疫球蛋白G(IgG)水平。结果观察组患者的CAUTI发生率低于对照组,首次排尿时间早于对照组,首次排尿量多于对照组,护理总满意率高于对照组(P均<0.05)。2组在干预2周及1个月后的血清PCT、PTX-3、NLRP3水平均低于干预前(P均<0.05),且观察组的血清PCT、PTX-3、NLRP3水平均低于同期对照组(P均<0.05);2组的血清IgM、IgA、IgG水平均高于干预前(P均<0.05),且观察组的血清IgM、IgA、IgG水平均高于同期对照组(P均<0.05)。结论 CAUTI防护策略能有效降低留置导尿管患者的尿路感染风险,改善患者的免疫功能,促进患者早日拔管及恢复自主排尿,提升患者的满意度。

Flash sintering of high-purity alumina at room temperature

For the first time,the flash sintering(FS)of high-purity alumina at room temperature,which was previously considered unachievable due to its low electrical conductivity,was conducted herein.The electrical arc originating from surface flashover was harnessed to induce FS at room temperature and low air pressure.The successful FS of high-purity alumina was realized at 60 kPa under the arc constraint,resulting in a notable relative density of the alumina sample of 98.7%.The electric–thermal coupling between the arc and high-purity alumina sample during the arc-induced FS process was analyzed via the finite element simulation method.The results revealed the thermal and electrical effects of the arc on the sample,which ultimately enhance the electrical conductivity of the alumina sample.The formation of a conductive channel on the sample surface,a result of increased electrical conductivity,was the pivotal factor in achieving FS in high-purity alumina at room temperature.The arc constraint technique can be applied to numerous materials,such as ionic conductors,semiconductors,and even insulators,under room-temperature and low-air-pressure conditions.

Oxygen vacancy OV plays an important role in a flash sintering (FS) process. In defect engineering, the methods of creating oxygen vacancy defects include doping, heating, and etching, and all of them often have complex processes or equipment. In this study, we used dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) as a new defect engineering technology to increase oxygen vacancy concentrations of green billets with different ceramics (ZnO, TiO_(2), and 3 mol% yttria-stabilized zirconia (3YSZ)). With an alternating current (AC) power supply of 10 kHz, low-temperature plasma was generated, and a specimen could be treated in different atmospheres. The effect of the DBD treatment was influenced by atmosphere, treatment time, and voltage amplitude of the power supply. After the DBD treatment, the oxygen vacancy defect concentration in ZnO samples increased significantly, and a resistance test showed that conductivity of the samples increased by 2–3 orders of magnitude. Moreover, the onset electric field (E) of ZnO FS decreased from 5.17 to 0.86 kV/cm at room temperature (RT);while in the whole FS, the max power dissipation decreased from 563.17 to 27.94 W. The defect concentration and conductivity of the green billets for TiO_(2) and 3YSZ were also changed by the DBD, and then the FS process was modified. It is a new technology to treat the green billet of ceramics in very short time, applicable to other ceramics, and beneficial to regulate the FS process.
