Towards accurate mapping of loess waterworn gully by integrating google earth imagery and DEM using deep learning

Accurate mapping of loess waterworn gully(LWG)is essential to further study gully erosion and geomorphological evolution for the Chinese Loess Plateau(CLP).Due to the vertical joint and collapsibility of loess,LWGs have the characteristics of zigzag and unique slope abruptness under synthetic action of hydraulic force and *** forces existing LWG mapping methods to either focus on the improvement of mapping accuracy or center on the increase of mapping ***,simultaneously achieving accurate and efficient mapping of LWG is still in its infancy under complex topographic ***,we proposed a method that innovatively integrates the loess slope abruptness feature into an improved deep learning semantic segmentation framework for LWG mapping using 0.6 m Google imagery and 5 m DEM *** selected four study areas representing typical loess landforms to test the performance of our *** proposed method can achieve satisfactory mapping results,with the F1 score,mean Intersection-over-Union(mIoU),and overall accuracy of 90.5%,85.3%,and 92.3%,*** addition,the proposed model also showed significant accuracy improvement by inputting additional topographic information(especially the slope of slope).Compared with existing algorithms(Random forests,original DeepLabV3+,and Unet),the proposed approach in this study achieved a better accuracy-efficiency ***,the method can ensure high accuracy and efficiency of the LWG mapping for different loess landform types and can be extended to study various loess gully mapping and water and soil conservation.

Inhibition of telomerase with human telomerase reverse transcriptase antisense increases the sensitivity of tumor necrosis factor-α-induced apoptosis in prostate cancer cells

Aim： To investigate the effect of inhibition of telomerase with human telomerase reverse transcriptase （hTERT） antisense on tumor necrosis factor-α （TNF-α-induced apoptosis in prostate cancer cells （PC3）. Methods： Antisense phosphorothioate oligodeoxynucleotide （AS PS-ODN） was synthesized and purified. Telomerase activity was measured using the telomeric repeat amplification protocol （TRAP） and polymerase chain reaction enzyme-linked immunoassay （PCR-ELISA）. hTERT mRNA was measured by reverse transcription PCR （RT-PCR） assay and gel-image system, hTERT protein was detected by immunochemistry and flow cytometry. Cell viability was detected by 3-（4, 5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl）-2,5-Diphenyltetrazolium （MTT） assay. Cell apoptosis was observed by morphological method and determined by flow cytometry. Results： The telomerase activity decreased with time after hTERT AS PS-ODN treatment. The levels of hTERT mRNA decreased with time after hTERT AS PS-ODN treatment, which appeared before the decline of the telomerase activity. The percentage of positive cells of hTERT protein declined with time after hTERT AS PS-ODN treatment, which appeared after the decline of hTERT mRNA. There was no difference in telomerase activity, hTERT mRNA and protein levels between hTERT sense phosphorothioate oligodeoxynucleotide （S PS-ODN） and the control group. The cell viability decreased with time after hTERT AS PS-ODN combined with TNF-α treatment. The percentage of apoptosis increased with time after hTERT AS PS-ODN combined with TNF-α treatment. There was no difference in cell viability and the percentage of apoptosis between hTERT S PS-ODN and the control group. Conclusion： hTERT AS PS-ODN can significantly inhibit telomerase activity by downregulating the hTERT mRNA and protein expression, and inhibition of telomerase with hTERT antisense can enhance TNF-α- induced apoptosis of PC3 cells.

Petrogenesis and Tectonic Significance of Shenxianshui Alkaline Granite in Gejiu,Yunnan Province,China

The Shenxianshui granites in the western Gejiu area were formed in the Late *** ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry indicates zircon U-Pb ages ranging from 90.67±0.7 to 85.97±0.6 *** intrusive rocks are peraluminous(A/CNK=1.03 to 1.33)and calc-alkaline,showing an affinity towards I-type *** ion lithophilic elements are enriched in K and Rb,while high field strength elements are ***,light rare earth elements are significantly enriched,showing a slight negative Eu anomaly(Eu/Eu^(*)=0.39 to 0.58).Shenxianshui granite has a relatively high initial Sr isotope ratio(^(87)Sr/^(86)Sr)_(i)(0.7098-0.7105),negative ε_(Nd)(t)values(−7.99 to−7.44)and negative ε_(Hf)(t)values(−8.37 to−2.58).Combined with previous studies,these characteristics suggest that the Shenxianshui alkaline granites were formed in a post-collision extensional *** alkaline granitic magma possibly originated from the partial melting of the lower crust during the Mesoproterozoic era and may have contained mantle source *** alkaline granite was formed from mixed magma with a high degree of crystal *** abundance of ore-forming elements indicates that Shenxianshui granite has the potential to mineralize key metals and rare earth elements.

As highly social animals,Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins(Sousa chinensis)exhibit community ***,our understanding of the external and internal factors influencing these dynamics,as well as their spatiotemporal variations,is still *** the present study,variations in the social structure of an endangered Indo-Pacific humpback dolphin population in Xiamen Bay,China,were monitored over two distinct periods(2007–2010 and 2017–2019)to analyze the effects of habitat utilization and the composition of individuals within the *** both periods,the population demonstrated a strikingly similar pattern of social differentiation,characterized by the division of individuals into two main clusters and one small ***,the two primary clusters occupied the eastern and western waters,respectively,although the core distribution area of the eastern cluster shifted further eastward between the two *** this distribution shift,the temporal stability of the social structure and inter-associations within the eastern cluster remained unaffected.A subset of 16individuals observed in both periods,comprising 51.6%and 43.2%of the population in each respective period,emerged as a foundational element of the social structure and may be responsible for sustaining social structure stability,especially during the 2007–2010 *** observations suggest that the composition of dominant individuals,an internal factor,had a more substantial influence on the formation of the social network than changes in habitat use,an external ***,the study proposes distinct conservation measures tailored to each of the two main clusters.

The rapidly increasing production of lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)and their limited service time increases the number of spent LIBs,eventually causing serious environmental issues and resource *** the perspectives of clean production and the development of the LIB industry,the effective recovery and recycling of spent LIBs require urgent *** study provides an overview of the current hydrometallurgical processes employed in the recycling of spent cathode materials,focusing on the leaching of valuable metals and their *** particular,this research reviews the various leaching systems(inorganic acid,organic acid,and ammonia)and the separation of valuable metals,and then,recommendations for subsequent study are offered in an attempt to contribute to the development of highly efficient methods for recycling spent cathode *** addition,a range of existing technologies,such as solvent extraction,chemical precipitation,electrochemical deposition,and regeneration,for the postprocessing of leaching solutions are ***,the promising technologies,existing challenges and suggestions with respect to the development of effective and environmentally friendly recycling methods for handling spent cathode materials are identified.

Risk factors,prognostic factors,and nomograms for distant metastasis in patients with diagnosed duodenal cancer:A population-based study

BACKGROUND Duodenal cancer is one of the most common subtypes of small intestinal cancer,and distant metastasis(DM)in this type of cancer still leads to poor *** nomograms have recently been used in tumor areas,no studies have focused on the diagnostic and prognostic evaluation of DM in patients with primary duodenal *** To develop and evaluate nomograms for predicting the risk of DM and person-alized prognosis in patients with duodenal *** Data on duodenal cancer patients diagnosed between 2010 and 2019 were extracted from the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results *** and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify independent risk factors for DM in patients with duodenal cancer,and univariate and multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression analyses were used to determine independent prognostic factors in duodenal cancer patients with *** novel nomograms were established,and the results were evaluated by receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves,calibration curves,and decision curve analysis(DCA).RESULTS A total of 2603 patients with duodenal cancer were included,of whom 457 cases(17.56%)had DM at the time of *** analysis revealed independent risk factors for DM in duodenal cancer patients,including gender,grade,tumor size,T stage,and N stage(P<0.05).Univariate and multivariate COX analyses further identified independent prognostic factors for duodenal cancer patients with DM,including age,histological type,T stage,tumor grade,tumor size,bone metastasis,chemotherapy,and surgery(P<0.05).The accuracy of the nomograms was validated in the training set,validation set,and expanded testing set using ROC curves,calibration curves,and DCA *** results of Kaplan-Meier survival curves(P<0.001)indicated that both nomograms accurately predicted the occurrence and prognosis of DM in patients with duodenal *** The two nomograms are expected as effective tools fo

Self-adaptive gas flow and phase change behaviors during hydrate exploitation by alternate injection of N2 and CO2

Since hydrate resources play a part of the stratigraphic framework structure in sediments,establishing a safe and economic method for hydrates exploitation remains the primary challenge to this *** the proposed methods,the spontaneous displacement of CH4from hydrate cages by CO2seems to be a perfect mechanism to address gas production and CO2storage,especially in today's strong demand for carbon reduction and replacing clean *** extensive lab researches,in the past decade,injecting a mixture of CO2and small molecule gas has become a key means to enhance displacement efficiency and has great potential for ***,there is a lack of in-depth research on gas flow in the reservoir,while the injected gas always passes through low-saturated hydrate areas with high permeability and then occurs gas channel in a short term,finally resulting in the decreases in gas production efficiency and produced gas ***,we explored a new injection-production mode of alternate injection of N2and CO2in order to fully coordinate the advantages of N2in enhanced hydrate decomposition and CO2in solid storage and heat *** alternate "taking" and "storing" processes perfectly repair the problem of the gas channel,achieving self-regulation effect of CH4recovery and *** 3-D experimental results show that compared to the mixed gas injection,CH4recovery is increased by>50% and CO2storage is increased by>70%.Additionally,this alternate injection mode presented a better performance in CH4concentration of produced gas and showed outstanding N2utilization ***,we analyzed its self-adaptive gas flow mechanism and proposed an application model of "one injection and multiple production".We look forward to this study accelerating the application of CO2-CH4replacement technology.

Cordyceps cicadae extracts ameliorate renal malfunction in a remnant kidney model

Background and Objectives:Chronic kidney disease(CKD) is a growing public health problem with an urgent need for new pharmacological *** cicadae is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) and has potential renoprotective *** current study aimed to determine any scientific evidence to support its clinical ***:We analyzed the potential of two kinds of *** extract,total extract(TE) and acetic ether extract(AE),in treating kidney disease simulated by a subtotal nephrectomy(SNx) ***-Dawley rats were divided randomly into seven groups:sham-operated group,vehicle-treated SNx,Cozaar,2 g/(kg·d) TE SNx,1 g/(kg·d) TE SNx,92 mg/(kg·d) AE SNx,and 46 mg/(kg·d) AE *** injury was monitored using urine and serum analyses,and hematoxylin and eosin(HE) and periodic acid-Schiff(PAS) stainings were used to analyze the level of *** expression of type IV collagen(Col IV),fibronectin(FN),transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1),and connective tissue growth factor(CTGF) was detected by ***:Renal injury,reflected in urine and serum analyses,and pathological changes induced by SNx were attenuated by TE and AE *** depositions of Col IV and FN were also decreased by the treatments and were accompanied by reduced expression of TGF-β1 and *** some respects,2 g/(kg·d) of TE produced better effects than ***:For the first time,we have shown that *** may inhibit renal fibrosis in vivo through the TGF-β1/CTGF ***,we conclude that the use of *** could provide a rational strategy for combating renal fibrosis.

Background Transvaginal oocyte retrieval is frequently followed by adverse events related to anesthesia and the *** research showed that transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation(TEAS)can relieve intraoperative pain and postoperative *** This study examined whether TEAS can alleviate pain and relieve adverse symptoms after oocyte ***,setting,participants and interventions Altogether 128 patients were randomly divided into the TEAS group and the mock TEAS *** two groups received a 30-minute-long TEAS or mock TEAS treatment that began 30 min after oocyte *** outcome measures The primary outcome was the visual analog scale(VAS)pain *** outcomes were pressure pain threshold,McGill score,pain rating index(PRI),present pain intensity(PPI),VAS stress score,VAS anxiety score,and postoperative adverse *** The baseline characteristics of the two groups were comparable(P>0.05).The VAS pain scores of the TEAS group were lower than those of the mock TEAS group at 60 and 90 min after oocyte retrieval(P0.05).The TEAS group was superior to the mock TEAS group for relieving postoperative adverse symptoms(P<0.05).Conclusion TEAS treatment can relieve postoperative pain and postoperative adverse symptoms for patients undergoing oocyte retrieval.
