Model test of the mechanism underpinning water-and-mud inrush disasters during tunnel excavation in sandstone and slate interbedded Presinian strata

Water-and-mud inrush disasters have become a major challenge in underground engineering for the construction of tunnels in sandstone and slate interbedded Presinian *** prediction and prevention rely in part on realistic modeling and observation of the disaster process,as well as the identification and examination of the underlying *** on the geological conditions and the historical records of the Xinping Tunnel on the China–Laos Railway,an engineering geological model of the water-and-mud inrush was established.A physical model test that accurately reproduced water-and-mud inrush during tunnel excavation in sandstone and slate interbedded strata was also carried ***,testing was conducted that examined the stress and strain,seepage pressure,and high-leakage flow of the surrounding *** results indicated that the water-and-mud inrush proceeded through three stages:seepage stage,high-leakage flow stage,and attenuation *** essence,the disaster was a catastrophic process,during which the water-resistant stratum was reduced to a critical safety thickness,a water-inrush channel formed,and the water-resistant stratum gradually failed under the influence of excavation unloading and in situ stress–seepage *** such as the stress and strain,seepage pressure,and flow of the surrounding rock had evident stage-related features during water-and-mud inrush,and their variation indicated the formation,development,and evolution of the *** the tunnel face advanced,the trend of the stress–strain curve of the surrounding rock shifted from sluggish to rapid in its speed of *** characteristics of strain energy density revealed the erosion and weakening effect of groundwater on the surrounding *** seepage pressure and the thickness of the water-resistant stratum had a positive linear relationship,and the flow and thickness a negative linear *** was a pivotal point at which the seepage pressure change

Programmed death-1 expression is associated with the disease status in hepatitis B virus infection

AIM： TO define the potential role of programmed death-i/programmed death-ligand （PD-1/PD-L） pathway in different hepatitis B virus （HBV） infection disease status; we examined the expression of PD-1 on antigen specific CD8＋T cells in peripheral blood of patients with chronic hepatitis B （CriB） and acute exacerbation of hepatitis B （AEHB） infection. METHODS： The PD-1 level on CD8＋ T lymphocytes and the number of HBV specific CD8＋ T lymphocytes in patients and healthy controls （HCs） were analyzed by staining with pentameric peptide-human leukocyte antigen2 （HLA2） complexes combined with flow cytometry. Real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction （PCR） was used to measure the serum HBV- DNA levels. RESULTS： The level of PD-1 expression on total CD8＋ T cells in CHB patients （13.86% ± 3.38%） was significantly higher than that in AEHB patients （6.80%± 2.19%, P 〈 0.01） and healthy individuals （4.63% ± 1.23%, P 〈 0.01）. Compared to AEHB patients （0.81% ± 0.73%）, lower frequency of HBV-specific CD8＋ T cells was detected in chronic hepatitis B patients （0.37% ± 0.43%, P 〈 0.05）. There was an inverse correlation between the strength of HBV-specific CD8＋ T-cell response and the level of PD-1 expression. Besides, there was a significant positive correlation between HBV viral load and the percentage of PD-1 expression on CD8＋ T cells in CriB and AEHB subjects （R = 0.541, P 〈 0.01）. However, PD-1 expression was not associated with disease flare-ups as indicated by alanine aminotransferase （ALT） levels （R = 0.066, P 〉 0.05）. CONCLUSION： Our results confirm previous reports that HBV specific CD8＋T-cell response in the peripheral blood is more intense in patients with AEHB than in chronic hepatitis B wlth persistent viral infection. Moreover, there is a negative correlation between the level of PD-1 and the intensity of virus specific CD8＋ T cell response.

Splenic infarction(SI)is a rare clinical phenomenon that occurs when the blood supply to the spleen is interrupted,resulting in tissue ischemia and necrosis[1].There are many causes of SI;in adult patients,cardioembolism,hematological malignancy,and infectious disease are the most common[2].Rheumatic diseases,especially systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE)and granulomatosis with polyangitis,can also lead to SI[3];however,only a few cases have been *** are currently no statistically meaningful data on the etiology of SI in *** most patients with SI can recover after conservative treatment,a small number of patients develop complications,such as splenic abscess,splenic rupture,splenic hemorrhage,and hemoperitoneum,and may even undergo splenectomy in severe cases.

General scheduling framework in computational Grid based on Petri net

A general scheduling framework (GSF) for independent tasks in computational Grid is proposed in this paper, which modeled by Petri net and located on the layer of Grid scheduler. Furthermore, a new mapping algorithm aimed at time and cost is designed on the basis of this framework. The algorithm uses weighted average fuzzy applicability to express the matching degree between available machines and independent tasks. Some existent heuristic algorithms are tested in GSF, and the results of simulation and comparison not only show good flexibility and adaptability of GSF, but also prove that, given a certain aim, the new algorithm can consider the factors of time and cost as a whole and its performance is higher than those mentioned algorithms.

Laparoscopic resection of synchronous intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms:A case report

We describe herein a 68-year-old woman who was diagnosed with a quite rare entity of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms(IPMNs) occurring simultaneously in the left lateral lobe of liver and the tail of *** computed tomography and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography showed a cystic dilatation of the pancreatic duct in the pancreatic tail,which suggested an IPMN,and multiple intrahepatic duct stones in the left lateral *** patient underwent a laparoscopic left lateral hepatolobectomy and spleenpreserving distal ***-operative finding of massive mucin in the dilated bile duct implied an intraductal mucinous tumor in the *** diagnosis of synchronous IPMNs in the liver and pancreas was confirmed by pathological *** patient was followed up for 6 mo without signs of *** several cases of IPMN of liver without any pancreatic association have been reported,the simultaneous occurrence of IPMNs in the liver and pancreas is very *** the best of our knowledge,it is the first reported case treated by laparoscopic resection.

Intelligent diagnosis of retinal vein occlusion based on color fundus photographs

Efficacy of Raw Corn Starch in Insulinoma-Related Hypoglycemia:A Promising Supportive Therapy

Optimal investment based on relative performance and weighted utility

This paper studies the optimal portfolio allocation of a fund manager when he bases decisions on both the absolute level of terminal relative performance and the change value of terminal relative performance comparison to a predefined reference point. We find the optimal investment strategy by maximizing a weighted average utility of a concave utility and an Sshaped utility via a concavification technique and the martingale method. Numerical results are carried out to show the impact of the extent to which the manager pays attention to the change of relative performance related to the reference point on the optimal terminal relative performance.
