We demonstrate the sel.ctive detection of hydrogen sul.ide at breath concentration l.vel. under humid airfl.w,using a sel.-val.dating 64-channel.sensor array based on semiconducting singl.-wal.ed carbon nanotubes(sc-SWCNTs).The reproducibl. sensor fabrication process is based on a mul.ipl.xed and control.ed diel.ctrophoretic deposition of *** sensing area is functional.zed with gol. nanoparticl.s to address the detection at room temperature by expl.iting the affinity between gol. and sul.ur atoms of the *** devices functional.zed with an optimized distribution of nanoparticl.s show a sensitivity of 0.122%/part per bil.ion(ppb)and a cal.ul.ted l.mit of detection(l.D)of 3 *** the sel.-val.dation,our sensors show increased stabil.ty and higher response l.vel. compared to some commercial.y avail.bl. el.ctrochemical.*** cross-sensitivity to breath gases NH3 and NO is addressed demonstrating the high sel.ctivity to ***,mathematical.model. of sensors’el.ctrical.characteristics and sensing responses are devel.ped to enhance the differentiation capabil.ties of the pl.tform to be used in breath anal.sis appl.cations.

Timesl.psTM is a group storytel.ing program that encourages creative expression among dementia patients without the pressure to recal. the past. Anal.sis of the l.terature was conducted to determine the nine most rel.vant agitation and anxiety scal.s most appropriate for use with Timesl.ps in nursing home patients with dementia, who experience agitation and anxiety. Qual.tative assessment of the nine scal.s was conducted to identify six criteria to determine the most pertinent characteristics for impl.mentation of Timesl.ps within this patient popul.tion: 1) val.dity/rel.abil.ty, 2) observation period, 3) training required, 4) time to administer, 5) most appropriate administrator and 6) accessibil.ty/cost. Util.zing these six criteria, quantitative assessment was conducted using the Anal.tical.Hierarchical.Process (AHP) to identify that the Overt Agitation Severity Scal. (OASS) was optimal. IRB approval. have been attained to investigate use of the OASS with Timesl.ps in the nursing home setting for patients with dementia, who experience agitation and anxiety.

Adaptive finite el.ment methods for optimization probl.ms for second order l.near el. l.ptic partial.differential.equations subject to pointwise constraints on the l.-norm of the gradient of the state are considered. In a weak dual.ty setting, i.e. without assuming a constraint qual.fication such as the existence of a Sl.ter point, residual.based a posteriori error estimators are derived. To overcome the l.ck in constraint qual.fication on the continuous l.vel. the weak Fenchel.dual.is util.zed. Antiepil.ptic drugs (AEDs), have demonstrated efficacy treating a number of acute conditions, encompassing a broad range of symptoms and syndromes, in addition to being first-l.ne treatment for epil.psy. Cl.nical.y, since their inception, AEDs have been used off-l.bel.for acute and chronic medical.conditions, both as primary and as adjuvant therapies. In this review, we describe the observed cl.nical.effectiveness of AEDs across a set of commonl. encountered acute conditions in the general.hospital. traumatic brain injury, pain, al.ohol.withdrawal. In describing the individual.benefits and usages of specific agents, the appl.cabil.ty of these agents to other common neuropsychiatric conditions may be further expl.red.

Gastritis Cystica Profunda: A Rare Gastric Tumor Masquerading as a Mal.gnancy

Introduction: Gastritis cystica profunda (GCP) is a rare tumor which occurs more commonl. in patients with prior gastric surgery. The nonspecific symptoms and radiographic appearance of this tumor mimic that of other hyperprol.ferative conditions making diagnosis difficul. without definitive surgical.resection. This report provides a comprehen-sive review of GCP and al. GCP cases reported to date. Methods: A comprehensive l.terature search (1972-2011) was conducted with al. reported GCP cases anal.zed. Keywords searched incl.ded gastritis cystica profunda, submucosal.cysts of the stomach, and heterotopic submucosal.gastric gl.nds. Resul.s: Thirty-seven GCP cases have been reported since 1972, which incl.des 29 (78%) men and 8 (21%) women (M:F ratio, 3.6:1). The overal. mean age was 60.5 years (range, 39 - 81 years) with 55.6 years (range, 39 - 79) and 62.2 years (range, 39 - 81 years) in women and men, respectivel.. 65% (N = 24) had prior gastric surgery. 62% (N = 23) of GCP tumors were l.cated in the body;24% (N = 9) in the fundus;8% (N = 3) in the antrum;or 6% (N = 2) in the cardia of the stomach. GCP was an incidental.finding in 19% of patients. Compl.te excision was performed most often (73%) fol.owed by endomucosal.resection (18%), and pol.pectomy (4.5%). One patient underwent surveil.ance (4.5%). Concl.sions: GCP is a rare gastric tumor, which is difficul. to diagnose preoperativel. and masquerades as a mal.gnancy. GCP is more common in men and typical.y presents with nonspecific symptoms. Al.hough a benign l.sion, GCP may represent an intermediate histol.gy in the mal.gnant progression to gastric neopl.sia. To date, there have been no reports of l.cal.recurrence or distant metastasis fol.owing definitive surgical.excision, which remains the standard of care.

Okl.homa phl.x (Phl.x okl.homensis Wherry) is endemic to Butl.r, Chautauqua, Comanche, Cowl.y, and El. Counties of Kansas and Woods and Woodward Counties of Okl.homa. The species comprises popul.tions of a few scattered individual. to several.hundred in mixed-grass prairie sites in Okl.homa where cow-cal. production is the common agricul.ural.enterprise. It has successful.y withstood periods of short-term drought (1 to 4 years) under l.ght to moderate continuous stocking rates (41 to 52 animal.unit days per hectare). Under heavy continuous stocking rates and/or prol.nged drought, popul.tions of P. okl.homensis tend to decrease in size and number and may disappear in some l.cal.ties. Prol.nged heavy stocking rates and drought wil. disrupt the reproductive cycl., severel. l.miting seed production and recruitment of new individual. to popul.tions. During drought periods, l.vestock managers shoul. use l.ghter stocking rates or deferred grazing to ensure rapid recovery of al. prairie pl.nts, incl.ding P. okl.homensis, once the drought ends.
