In this paper, we present integral cross sections （ICS） for electron impact excitation of the n = 2 levels in helium in the impact energy range of 23.5 eV to 35 eV. The ICS of each final state, 2^3S, 2^1S, 2^3P and 2^1P, has been determined by integration of the angular differential cross sections （dCS） over all of 0° to 180°, where those dCS were obtained from both our previous experiments and the extrapolation using the convergent close coupling calculation. The present experimental ICS for the optically allowed 21P transition state are also compared with those obtained from the BE f-scaling method. Very good agreement between the experimental and BE f-scaled 21P ICSs is generally found in the measured impact energy region.

In our current work,AZ31 magnesium alloy foams with closed-cell were successfully fabricated by melt foaming method using Ca and CaCO3 as thickening and blowing agent,*** influences of porosity and pore size on the quasi-static compressive properties of the foams were systematically *** results showed that the yield strength,energy absorption capacity and ideality energy absorption efficiency were decreased with the increase in ***,specimens with porosities of 60%,65%and 70%possessed similar total energy absorption capacity and ideality energy absorption ***,experimental results showed that mean plateau strength of the foams was increased first and then decreased with increase in mean pore *** addition,energy absorption capacities were almost the same in the initial stage,while the differences were obvious in the middle *** the engineering point of view,the specimens with mean pore size of 1.5 mm possess good combination of mean plateau strength and energy absorption characteristics under the present conditions.

Methane Emissions from Grazing Holstein-Friesian Heifers at different Ages Estimated Using the Sulfur Hexafluoride Tracer Technique

Although the effect of animal and diet factors on enteric methane （CH4） emissions from confined cattle has been extensively examined, less data is available regarding CH4 emissions from grazing young cattle. A study was undertaken to evaluate the effect of the physiological state of Holstein-Friesian heifers on their enteric CH4 emissions while grazing a perennial ryegrass sward. Two experiments were conducted： Experiment 1 ran from May 2011 for 11 weeks and Experiment 2 ran from August 2011 for 10 weeks. In each experiment, Holstein-Friesian heifers were divided into three treatment groups （12 animals/group） consisting of calves, yearling heifers, and in-calf heifers （average ages： 8.5, 14.5, and 20.5 months, respectively）. Methane emissions were estimated for each animal in the final week of each experiment using the sulfur hexafluoride tracer technique. dry matter （dM） intake was estimated using the calculated metabolizable energy （ME） requirement divided by the ME concentration in the grazed grass. As expected, live weight increased with increasing animal age （P 〈 0.001）; however, there was no difference in live weight gain among the three groups in Experiment 1, although in Experiment 2, this variable decreased with increasing animal age （P 〈 0.001 ）. In Experiment 1, yearling heifers had the highest CH4 emissions （g·d^-1） and in-calf heifers produced more than calves （P 〈 0.001 ）. when expressed as CH4 emissions per unit of live weight, dM intake, and gross energy （GE） intake, yearling heifers had higher emission rates than calves and in-calf heifers （P 〈 0.001）. However, the effects on CH4 emissions were different in Experiment 2, in which CH, emissions （g·d^-1） increased linearly with increasing animal age （P 〈 0.001）, although the difference between yearling and in-calf heifers was not significant. The CH4/live weight ratio was lower in in-calf heifers than in the other two groups （P 〈 0.001 ）, while CH4 energy output as a proportion of GE intake was lower

Tissue (re)vascularization strategies face various challenges, as therapeutic cells do not survive long enough in situ, while the administration of pro-angiogenic factors is hampered by fast clearance and insufficient ability to emulate complex spatiotemporal signaling. Here, we propose to address these limitations by engineering a functional biomaterial capable of capturing and concentrating the pro-angiogenic activities of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). In particular, dextran sulfate, a high molecular weight sulfated glucose polymer, supplemented to MSC cul-tures, interacts with MSC-derived extracellular matrix (ECM) components and facilitates their co-assembly and accumulation in the pericellular space. Upon decellularization, the resulting dextran sulfate-ECM hybrid material can be processed into MIcroparticles of SOlidified Secretome (MIPSOS). The insoluble format of MIPSOS protects protein components from degradation, while facilitating their sustained release. Proteomic analysis demonstrates that MIPSOS are highly enriched in pro-angiogenic factors, resulting in an enhanced pro-angiogenic bioactivity when compared to naïve MSC-derived ECM (cECM). Consequently, intravital microscopy of full-thickness skin wounds treated with MIPSOS demonstrates accelerated revascularization and healing, far superior to the ther-apeutic potential of cECM. Hence, the microparticle-based solidified stem cell secretome provides a promising platform to address major limitations of current therapeutic angiogenesis approaches.

Tracks previously examined between 2002 and 2015 from an incompletely-studied,and now partially lost tracksite site in the Santai Formation of Shandong Province were restudied based on new ex-cavations of additional *** contrast to the previous reports of tridactyl tracks,including Grallator,the present study discovered an additional assemblage of unequivocal pterosaur tracks(Pteraichnus)and a possible didactyl deinonychosaurian *** age of the Santai Formation is controversial but it is probably Late Jurassic,which corresponds to the epoch when pterosaur tracks appear *** interpretations,based on palynology and isotopic data,tentatively suggests an earlier Middle-Late Jurassic age and might suggest that the pterosaurian tracks are as old or somewhat older than any previously reported.

Multi-principal element alloys(MPEAs),inclusive of high entropy alloys(HEAs),continue to attract significant research attention owing to their potentially desirable *** MPEAs remain under extensive research,traditional(***)alloy production and testing are both costly and timeconsuming,partly due to the inefficiency of the early discovery process which involves experiments on a large number of alloy *** is intuitive to apply machine learning in the discovery of this novel class of materials,of which only a small number of potential alloys have been probed to *** this work,a proof-of-concept is proposed,combining generative adversarial networks(GANs)with discriminative neural networks(NNs),to accelerate the exploration of novel *** applying the GAN model herein,it was possible to directly generate novel compositions for MPEAs,and to predict their *** verify the predictability of the model,alloys designed by the model are presented and a candidate produced-as *** suggests that the model herein offers an approach that can significantly enhance the capacity and efficiency of development of novel MPEAs.
