New 4^(th)-generation synchrotron sources,with their increased bilince,promise to greatly improve the performances of coherent X-ray *** perspective is of major interest for crystal microscopy,which aims at revealing the 3D crystalline structure of matter at the nanoscale,an approach strongly limited by the available coherent *** results,based on Bragg ptychography experiments performed at the frst 4-generation synchrotron source,demonstrate the possibility of retrieving a high-quality image of the crystalline sample,with unprecedented ***,the larger available coherent flux produces datasets with enough information to overcome experimental limitations,such as strongly deteriorated scanning *** show this achievement would not be posible with 30-generation sources,a limit that has inhibited the development of this otherwise powerful microscopy method,so ***,the advent of next-generation synchrotron sources not only makes Bragg ptychography suitable for high throughput studies but also strongly relaxes the associated experimental constraints,making it compatible with a wider range of experimental set-ups at the new synchrotrons.

The first data of geochemical study of the Benevka Section cherty rocks belonging to the Taukha terrane of the Sikhote-Alin Late Jurassic-Early Cretaceous accretionary prism, Russia far East are presented. These data demonstrate essential distinctions of major, trace and rare earth element concentrations in different parts of the measured stratigraphic section. The lower chert horizons exhibit high Fe2O3 and MnO contents, low concentrations of Al2O3 and TiO2, relatively high V/Y ratio, and extremely low value of negative Ce anomaly. In contrast the upper horizons composed of clayey cherts and siliceous mudstones are characterized by high Al2O3, TiO2 and K2O contents, low Fe2O3 and MnO values, low V/Y ratio, and slightly negative Ce anomaly. In the middle part of the Benevka Section, in which cherts gradually changed to clayey cherts, intermediate geochemical characteristics are present. Based on these data obtained the depositional environments correspond to proximal to the spreding ridge, open-ocean and near continental margin regimes were successfully reconstructed from bottom to top of the Benevka Section, that indicate that significant horizontal movement took place of the sea-floor, on which the cherts were deposited.

Ultralong and Mesoporous ZnO and γ-Al_2O_3 Oriented Nanowires Obtained by Template-assisted Hydrothermal Approach

Highly mesoporous Zn O and g-Al2O3nanowires（NWs） are both synthesized by a hydrothermal method using commercially available porous anodic aluminium oxide（AAO） as template. AAO membrane acts as template for Zn O NWs and both as template and precursor for g-Al2O3 NWs. The formation of intermediate phases of porous Zn6Al2（OH）16CO3and boehmite（g-Al OOH） were observed, both occurring during the hydrothermal synthesis of porous Zn O and g-Al2O3 NWs, respectively, and disappearing after annealing at 600 C. This novel template-assisted hydrothermal process leads to the formation of porous Zn O and g-Al2O3NWs（specific surface area of 192 m2 g 1and 263 m2 g 1, respectively）, showing pore sizes around 4 nm in diameter. The influence of the reaction parameters on the nanostructure morphology was also investigated. A Zn O seed layer, deposited on the AAO channels prior to the hydrothermal synthesis, leads to more compact Zn O nanowires（99 m2 g-1） protecting the AAO host from the chemical attack of the precursor solution.

BACKGROUND Transcatheter aortic valve replacement(TAVR)provokes an early injury response,partially represented by dynamic changes in inflammatory *** greatly benefits the elderly and we aimed to determine whether increased inflammatory markers post-TAVR in octagenerians were different than their younger counterparts and whether it was associated with adverse clinical *** Patients with severe symptomatic aortic stenosis who underwent transfemoral TAVR from January 2010 to December 2021 were *** white blood cells(WBC)count and subpopulation dynamics were *** Five-hundred and seven patients were finally included in the study,65%of these patients were 80 or more years old(54%female,median age 84[82-87])years,with severe symptomatic aortic *** patients aged above 80 years(patients≥80),we noticed significant kinetic changes in the WBC and their differential cellular subpopulations(P<0.0001)between admission and early days *** was evident by a significant increase in total WBC(median 7.1 to 9.4)and absolute neutrophil count(median 4.7 to 7.4),neutrophil-lymphocyte(NL)ratio(median 2.82 to 7.21),and a meaningful decrease in absolute lymphocyte count(median 1.5 to 1.0).Implantation of self-expandable valves(SEVs)was associated with a more pronounced inflammatory response than balloon-expandable valves(BEVs).Higher WBC and neutrophil counts were associated with higher mortality and major vascular complications at 30 days,in addition,higher neutrophil counts and NL ratios were found to be correlated to arrhythmia at 30 days with P values of 0.04 and 0.028,*** This is the first description of a differential age-related inflammatory response in patients after TAVR,which shows an association between inflammatory markers post procedure and clinical ***,survival rates were similar in the elderly population and in younger patients,despite the presence of comorbid conditions.

Intracellular signals mediated by the family of receptor tyrosine kinases play pivotal roles in morphogenesis, cell fate determination and pathogenesis. Precise control of signal amplitude and duration is critical for the fidelity and robustness of these processes. Activation of receptor tyrosine kinases by their cognate growth factors not only leads to propagation of the signal through various biochemical cascades, but also sets in motion multiple attenuation mechanisms that ulti- mately terminate the active state. Early attenuators pre-exist prior to receptor activation and they act to limit signal propagation. Subsequently, late attenuators, such as Lrig and Sprouty, are transcriptionally induced and further act to dampen the signal. Central to the process of signaling attenuation is the role of the E3 ubiquitin ligase c-Cbl. While Cbl- mediated processes of receptor ubiquitylation and endocytosis are relatively well understood, the links of Cbl to other negative regulators are just now beginning to be appreciated. Here we review some emerging interfaces between Cbl and the transcriptionally induced negative regulators Lrig and Sprouty.

Annealing nanodiamonds(ND) at high temperatures up to 1700 ℃ is a common method to synthesize carbon onions. The transformation from NDs to carbon onions is particularly interesting because of carbon onions' potential in the field of tribology and their application in ultra-charge/discharge devices. In this paper, a novel surface-enhanced Raman scattering technique that involves coating the sample with nanoscopic gold particles is proposed to characterize the NDs after different annealing treatments. Conventional Raman and surfaceenhanced Raman spectra were obtained, and the changes of peak parameters as the function of annealing temperature were evaluated. It was found that the widths of the D and the G peaks decreased with increasing annealing temperature, reflecting an improved order in the sp^2-hybridized carbon during the transformation from NDs to carbon onions. After annealing at 1700 ℃, the sp^2?carbon was highly ordered, indicating desirable electrical conductivity and lubricity. With increasing annealing temperature, the D peak showed a blue shift of almost30 cm^(-1), while the G peak merely shifted by 5 cm^(-1). For annealing temperatures above 1100 ℃, an increase of intensity ratio ID/IGwas observed. Compared to the uncoated area, red shifts of 0.5-2 cm^(-1) and of 5-9 cm^(-1) for the G and D peaks, respectively, were detected for the gold-coated area, which was due to the coupling of the plasmons and the phonons of the samples.
