Objective: To improve the practice of cesarean section by analyzing the cesarean section according to Robson’s classification. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional and descriptive study carried out at the University Hospital of cocody. It covered the cesarean sections performed during the year 2015 and ranked according to the 10 groups of Robson. Results: The overall cesarean section rate in 2015 was 42.8% (3100 cesarean sections for 7229 deliveries). Group 1 was the largest contributor to overall cesarean section with a rate of 20.5% followed by Group 3 (18.6%), Group 5 (16.4%) and Group 10 (12.2%), unlike other data in the literature where groups were in descending order Groups 5, 1, 3. This difference was driven by medical evacuations and our working conditions. conclusion: The cesarean section rate is constantly increasing in our department. Referred patients played a huge role in the distribution of c-section along the Robson’s 10 groups classification.

Sirolimus-induced drug fever and ciclosporin-induced leukencephalopathia with seizures in one liver transplant recipient

We describe the first case of sirolimus-induced drug fever in a female liver transplant recipient, with a history of hepatitis c-induced end-stage liver cirrhosis in 1999. In 2005, six years after transplantation, she developed calcineurin inhibitor-induced renal function impairment. Immunosuppression was switched from tacrolimus to sirolimus. Two days after the intake of sirolimus, she developed daily fever spikes, but no infectious focus was found. Antibiotic therapy had no influence on the fever. After fourteen days, sirolimus was switched back to tacrolimus and the fever disappeared. In history, the patient developed ciclosporin-induced generalized seizures eleven days after liver transplantation, followed by the development of a motoric speech disorder. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings were consistent with leucoencephalopathy, therefore immunosuppressive therapy was changed from ciclosporin to tacrolimus and the neurologic symptoms improved significantly. Our case is the first reported case of sirolimus-induced drug fever. In addition, the patient showed the rare occurrence of ciclosporin-induced leukencephalopathy with seizures.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the outcomes of stricture treatment using endoscopic internal urethrotomy in the male urethra. Patients and Methods: We conducted a retrospective study from 2012 to 2017 at the Urology and Andrology Department of the University Hospital in Brazzaville, congo. Medical records of 30 patients who underwent endoscopic internal urethrotomy for urethral stricture were analyzed. We studied the following variables: frequency of urethral stricture, age of patient, onset, cause and location of urethral stricture, duration of bladder catheterization, duration of hospitalization, and postoperative complications. The treatment outcome was assessed after a follow-up of 2.6 years (extreme: 2 and 4 years). Outcomes were considered successful or good when the patients had a normal urine flow and an unobstructed urethra at the Retrograde Urethrogram (RUG). Results: The mean age was 47.5 ± 9.7 years (range: 17 to 83 years). Dysuria was the most common symptom reported. We found that urethral stricture was mostly caused by infectious diseases (20 patients). The urethral stricture was located at the membranous urethra in 4 patients, the bulbar urethra in 25 patients, and the penile urethra in 1 patient. The mean duration of the bladder catheterization was 2.3 days. Hospitalization duration was 36 hours. We observed the following complications: urethrorrhagia in 3 patients, acute orchiepididymitis. We achieved good results in 23 patients. conclusion: In our context where the practice of endoscopic internal urethrotomy is recent, it provides satisfactory results for the treatment of short urethral male stricture.

The effect of Procox? (Bayer, emodepside/toltrazuril suspension for dogs) against natural infections with Isospora spp. was investigated. Two groups were treated either with 0.5 ml suspension/kg of body weight (0.45 mg emodepside and 9 mg toltrazuril/kg of body weight) in the 3rd, 5th and 7th week of life (w.o.l.) (Procox? group;n = 28) or with a control anthelminthic (Dewormed control group;n = 26). Animals were surveyed weekly from the 3rd w.o.l. by coproscopy and clinical examination. Faecal samples were examined microbiologically from the 4th to the 8th w.o.l. and faecal inflammatory markers canine calprotectin and canine S100A12 were measured in the 8th w.o.l. Specific antibody titres were evaluated in serum samples from five litters before and after vaccination against canine distemper virus and canine parvovirus 2. The prevalence of Isospora-positive animals increased to 67% in the Dewormed control group (n = 15 puppies from four parasite-positive litters), while in the Procox? group (n = 15 puppies) it was less than 34% with significantly lower excretion (p ? was easily applied and effective;adverse effects did not occur. The level of seroconversion or titre increase upon vaccination was higher in parasite-free animals (91%) compared to Procox?-treated puppies (30%) and the control animals (10%). Animals from parasite-free litters showed significantly different excretion patterns for haemolytic Escherichia coli and clostridium perfringens, while there was no difference between Procox?-treated and control animals. In some animals kept under poor hygienic conditions diarrhoea was noted in association with c. perfringens, E. coli or Salmonella. concentrations of inflammatory markers in the faeces did not significantly differ between the Procox? and the control group. Adequate control of parasitic and bacterial infections in suckling puppies requires both antiparasitic treatment and hygiene. Even when parasites do not cause overt effects treatment is recommended

AIM:To assess the long-term clinical benefit of sustained virological response(SVR)in patients with hepatitis c virus(HcV)cirrhosis treated by antiviral therapy using mostly ribavirin plus interferon either standard or ***:One hundred and thirteen patients with uncomplicated HcV biopsy-proven cirrhosis,treated by at least one course of antiviral treatment ≥ 3 mo and followed ≥ 30 mo were *** occurrence of clinical events hepatocellular carcinoma(Hcc),decompensation and death was compared in SVR and non SVR ***:Seventy eight patients received bitherapy and 63 had repeat *** was achieved in 37 patients(33%).During a mean follow-up of 7.7 years,clinical events occurred more frequently in non SVR than in SVR patients,with a significant difference for Hcc(24/76 vs 1/37,P = 0.01).No SVR patient died while 20/76 non-SVR did(P = 0.002),mainly in relation to Hcc(45%).cONcLUSION:In patients with HcV-related cirrhosis,SVR is associated with a significant decrease in the incidence of Hcc and mortality during a follow-up period of 7.7 *** result is a strong argument to perform and repeat antiviral treatments in patients with compensated cirrhosis.

AIM: Although an association between helatic steatosis and vascular risk factors has been described, direct relationships between fatty liver and atherosclerosis have not yet been investigated. The aim of the present study has been to investigate those ***: The Study of Health in Pomerania examined a random population sample aged between 20 and 79 years.A study population of 4 222 subjects without hepatitis B and c infections and without liver cirrhosis was available for the present analysis. Hepatic steatosis was defined sonographically and intima-media thickness (IMT) as well as plaque prevalence were estimated by carotid ***: The prevalence rate of hepatic steatosis was 29.9%. Among subjects aged ≥45 years, an association between hepatic steatosis and IMT of the carotid arteries was found in bivariate analysis, but not after adjustment for atherosclerotic risk factors. Individuals with fatty liver had more often carotid plaques than persons without fatty liver (plaque prevalence rate 76.8% vs 66.6%; P＜0.001).This association persisted after adjustment for confounding factors and was predominantly present in subjects with no to mild alcohol ***: There is an independent association between hepatic steatosis and carotid atherosclerotic plaques. Metabolic changes due to nonalcoholic fatty liver disease may explain this relationship.

开发了基于双目立体识别技术的自动搬运系统,结合ABB工业机器人和ScHUNK手爪搭建了系统演示模型。系统包含采用RAPID语言编写的机器人动作控制程序、c++语言编写的视觉识别程序以及c#语言开发的各组件之间的接口及Pc端界面。在立体视觉部分,双目视觉实现了图像处理、特征提取及立体匹配,使用canny边缘检测算法识别目标轮廓,最终快速输出目标物体的位置坐标并转换到机器人坐标系中,机器人控制器执行程序实现对目标的搬运。实验结果表明,改变工作环境中的客观变量——如光照条件——后系统能够排除干扰稳定运行。该系统适用于物流等实际工业环境中。
