Quality control of Paracetamol Generic Tablets Marketed in Benin and Search of Its Two Impurities P-Aminophenol and P-Nitrophenol by HPLc-UV/Visible

In this work, we evaluated the quality of paracetamol generic tablets while seeking its two main impurities namely 4-para-aminophenol (4-AP) and 4-para-nitrophenol (4-NP) which have nephrotoxic and teratogenic properties. Ninety-four (94) samples were collected at various levels of the medicine supply chain and illegal markets in Benin for quality control tests such as visual inspection, pharmacotechnical tests as mass variation, disintegration test, dissolution test, followed by HPLc UV-Vis identification and assay of paracetamol, 4-AP and 4-NP. The analytes were separated on c18 Lichrocart column (250 mm × 4.0 mm i.d, 5 μm);the mobile phase was MeOH:10 mM ammonium acetate buffer pH 6.8 (35:65) pumped at a flow rate of 1 ml/min. The detection was done at 245 nm. Analysis of our results shows that 77.7% of the samples did not comply with the visual inspection test requirements, 2.1% did not pass the mass variation test, 24.3% of the sample batches didn’t comply with the disintegration test requirements. In addition none of these uncomply batches passed the dissolution test, even if the identification test indicated that all samples contained paracetamol. None contained 4-NP (acceptance limit contained 4-AP but within acceptance limit (4-AP cetamol assay, 80.9% complied with the specifications of the pharmacopoeias taken as reference (90% - 110%;USP). Further, broader studies should be conducted according to the same rules of good practice for a more comprehensive analysis of the situation. Generally the quality control of paracetamol in most African countries, particularly in Benin, is based on pharmacotechnical tests and paracetamol assay. This work, in addition to the usual tests, showed the importance to search for paracetamol and other drugs’ impurities during their routine quality control.

Mount Fouimba and Mount Goma (Seguela) greenstone belts petro-structural studies combine remote sensing, geophysics, petrography and structural analysis. In view of establishing mapping details of paleoproterozoic geological formations, geological setting rocks observed are essentially magmatic formations, such as two-mica granite, granodiorites, and porphyritic basalts;and a few metamorphics which are metatonalite, amphibolites and amphibo-lopyroxenites. Remote sensing, such as Landsat 8 OLI satellite imagery and geophysical data, has been combined to show regional NNE-SW shear zone. Tectonic structures and microstructures have enabled to identify two main deformation phases: D1 phase corresponding to compression, and D2 is a transpression phase. Mechanisms responsible for deformations are respectively flattening and transpression. Geological formations derived from mantle origin but contain crustal components, and their tectonic setting occurred during subduction.

The petrogeochemical analysis of the granitoids of Mount Fouimba and Mount Goma in the Seguela region (central-western c?te d’Ivoire) is the subject of this study. This analysis combines remote sensing, geophysics, petrography and geochemistry, in order to determine the major characteristics of the granitoids in the study area, and above all to participate in the detailed mapping of all the Ivorian terrains. The granitoids encountered in this region are essentially two-mica granites, granodiorites and porphyry basalts. chemical analysis indicates that these granitoids are of the ferrous and magnesian type with peraluminous to weakly metaluminous characteristics. They originate from the mantle and were emplaced in an active continental margin context.

How Referred Patients Influence cesarean Sections Rate Pattern: Analysis according to the Robson classification

Objective: To improve the practice of cesarean section by analyzing the cesarean section according to Robson’s classification. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional and descriptive study carried out at the University Hospital of cocody. It covered the cesarean sections performed during the year 2015 and ranked according to the 10 groups of Robson. Results: The overall cesarean section rate in 2015 was 42.8% (3100 cesarean sections for 7229 deliveries). Group 1 was the largest contributor to overall cesarean section with a rate of 20.5% followed by Group 3 (18.6%), Group 5 (16.4%) and Group 10 (12.2%), unlike other data in the literature where groups were in descending order Groups 5, 1, 3. This difference was driven by medical evacuations and our working conditions. conclusion: The cesarean section rate is constantly increasing in our department. Referred patients played a huge role in the distribution of c-section along the Robson’s 10 groups classification.

Endoscopic Internal Urethrotomy Outcomes in the Management of Male Urethral Strictures

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the outcomes of stricture treatment using endoscopic internal urethrotomy in the male urethra. Patients and Methods: We conducted a retrospective study from 2012 to 2017 at the Urology and Andrology Department of the University Hospital in Brazzaville, congo. Medical records of 30 patients who underwent endoscopic internal urethrotomy for urethral stricture were analyzed. We studied the following variables: frequency of urethral stricture, age of patient, onset, cause and location of urethral stricture, duration of bladder catheterization, duration of hospitalization, and postoperative complications. The treatment outcome was assessed after a follow-up of 2.6 years (extreme: 2 and 4 years). Outcomes were considered successful or good when the patients had a normal urine flow and an unobstructed urethra at the Retrograde Urethrogram (RUG). Results: The mean age was 47.5 ± 9.7 years (range: 17 to 83 years). Dysuria was the most common symptom reported. We found that urethral stricture was mostly caused by infectious diseases (20 patients). The urethral stricture was located at the membranous urethra in 4 patients, the bulbar urethra in 25 patients, and the penile urethra in 1 patient. The mean duration of the bladder catheterization was 2.3 days. Hospitalization duration was 36 hours. We observed the following complications: urethrorrhagia in 3 patients, acute orchiepididymitis. We achieved good results in 23 patients. conclusion: In our context where the practice of endoscopic internal urethrotomy is recent, it provides satisfactory results for the treatment of short urethral male stricture.

Diagnostic accuracy of MRI and PET/cT for neck staging prior to salvage total laryngectomy

Aim:Lymph node(LN)metastases are associated with poor outcomes in patients with recurrent larynx squamous cell carcinoma(LScc).Neck dissection(ND)is therefore commonly performed along with salvage total laryngectomy(STL).Here,we assess the rate of occult LN metastases and the diagnostic value of MRI and PET/cT for detecting them in recurrent ***:This retrospective study included patients with recurrent LScc after primary(chemo)radiotherapy[(c)RT]who were re-staged by MRI and/or PET/cT and treated with STL and ND between 2004 and *** histopathology of ND samples was used as the reference ***:Forty-one patients were *** prevalence of occult metastases in MRI-negative and PET/cT-negative neck nodes was between 3.2%and 6.1%.Negative predictive values of neck node re-staging were 93.9%for MRI,96.8%for PET/cT,and 96.2%for MRI and PET/cT ***:Both MRI and PET/cT afforded good negative predictive values for nodal staging in patients with recurrent LScc after(c)RT prior to *** selected patients,these radiological modalities,particularly PET/cT,could help to avoid unnecessary surgery to the neck and its associated morbidity.

The effect of Procox? (Bayer, emodepside/toltrazuril suspension for dogs) against natural infections with Isospora spp. was investigated. Two groups were treated either with 0.5 ml suspension/kg of body weight (0.45 mg emodepside and 9 mg toltrazuril/kg of body weight) in the 3rd, 5th and 7th week of life (w.o.l.) (Procox? group;n = 28) or with a control anthelminthic (Dewormed control group;n = 26). Animals were surveyed weekly from the 3rd w.o.l. by coproscopy and clinical examination. Faecal samples were examined microbiologically from the 4th to the 8th w.o.l. and faecal inflammatory markers canine calprotectin and canine S100A12 were measured in the 8th w.o.l. Specific antibody titres were evaluated in serum samples from five litters before and after vaccination against canine distemper virus and canine parvovirus 2. The prevalence of Isospora-positive animals increased to 67% in the Dewormed control group (n = 15 puppies from four parasite-positive litters), while in the Procox? group (n = 15 puppies) it was less than 34% with significantly lower excretion (p ? was easily applied and effective;adverse effects did not occur. The level of seroconversion or titre increase upon vaccination was higher in parasite-free animals (91%) compared to Procox?-treated puppies (30%) and the control animals (10%). Animals from parasite-free litters showed significantly different excretion patterns for haemolytic Escherichia coli and clostridium perfringens, while there was no difference between Procox?-treated and control animals. In some animals kept under poor hygienic conditions diarrhoea was noted in association with c. perfringens, E. coli or Salmonella. concentrations of inflammatory markers in the faeces did not significantly differ between the Procox? and the control group. Adequate control of parasitic and bacterial infections in suckling puppies requires both antiparasitic treatment and hygiene. Even when parasites do not cause overt effects treatment is recommended

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

开发了基于双目立体识别技术的自动搬运系统,结合ABB工业机器人和ScHUNK手爪搭建了系统演示模型。系统包含采用RAPID语言编写的机器人动作控制程序、c++语言编写的视觉识别程序以及c#语言开发的各组件之间的接口及Pc端界面。在立体视觉部分,双目视觉实现了图像处理、特征提取及立体匹配,使用canny边缘检测算法识别目标轮廓,最终快速输出目标物体的位置坐标并转换到机器人坐标系中,机器人控制器执行程序实现对目标的搬运。实验结果表明,改变工作环境中的客观变量——如光照条件——后系统能够排除干扰稳定运行。该系统适用于物流等实际工业环境中。
