Rationale:Cavernous internal carotid artery(ICA)pseudoaneurysm caused by non-penetrating head trauma is a rare cause of massive *** sudden onset of epistaxis due to such a fatal aneurysm protruding into the sphenoid sinus is extremely rare in clinical *** management is often challenging because of anatomical inaccessibility of the bleeding ***'s concern:A 42-year-old man with a history of head trauma showing an ICA aneurysm eroding the sphenoid sinus followed by massive ***:A computerized tomography(CT)scan showed a fracture in the sphenoid *** angiogram revealed cavernous ICA ***:Endovascular coil ***:The patient recovered well and was discharged without any neurological deficits Lessons:Cavernous ICA pseudoaneurysm may lead to a life-threatening *** a patient has a history of head trauma,post-traumatic cavernous ICA pseudoaneurysm should be considered a differential diagnosis of massive epistaxis.

The nano sized TiO2 has been synthesized by sol gel process. The titaniumisopropaxide diluted in propanol hydrolyzed under acidic condition to form a gel. The solvent from gel pores has been extracted at ambient pressure resulting in nano sized TiO2 crystallites. The crystalline phase of TiO2 could be assigned to anatase structure. An average crystallite size is about 12 nm. The surface area of TiO2 found to be 235 m2/g. The TiO2 nanocrystallites thus produced were blended with polysulphone to form its beads for ease of operation. These beads of TiO2 were used as photo catalyst in conjunction with H2O2 oxidizer in presence of UV light (254 nm) for treating the 50 ppm Rhodamine B aqueous solution. The solution decolorized within 10 minutes resulting in disappearance of absorption peak at around 600 nm in UV spectrometry. The organic entities degrade in about 60 minutes. The beads of nano sized TiO2 could be easily recovered from the treated effluent for further use.

The Litter nutrient concentrations of N, P, Ca, Mg, k and Na in mature leaves, twigs and reproductive parts and their relationship between senescent and young leaves were investigated in five forest species： Acacia nilotica, Acacia leucophloea. Tectona grandis, Miliusa tomentosa and Butea monosperma in Indian tropical dry deciduous forest in Western India.. Total dry matter of plant species was recorded and analyzed for N, P, Ca, Mg, k and Na. A. nilotica had the highest concentrations of N in leaf, while ,4. leucophloea had the highest concentrations of Ca and Mg in leaf. The highest concentrations of P in leaf were found in A. nilotica, A. leucophloea and B. monosperma where as lowest in T. grandis and M. tomentosa. No significant differences in k and Na were registered among the species. A marked seasonal variability was ob- served in the concentrations of N, P and k, except for Ca and Mg. Potas- sium is the single element that undergoes leaching and mobilization in all species. Resorped N and P can be used for the production of fresh leaf in the following annual cycle. Nutrient resorption and retranslocation from senescent leaves and litter supports the production of new foliage and increase the fertility of soil.

How Escherichia coli bacteria develop a particular colonial, 3-D biofilm morphological pattern is still a poorly understood process. Recently, we reported a new E. coli k-12 morphotype exhibited by old macrocolonies described as volcano-like. The formative developmental process of this morphotype has been presented as a suitable experimental model for the study of 3D patterning in macrocolony biofilms. Here, we report the optical microscopy observations and genetic analysis that have unveiled the existence of a novel autoaggregative behaviour which generates massive lumpiness over the surface of the volcano-like macrocolonies. These lumpy formations are generated by the autoaggregation and strong interaction of tightly packed bacterial cells in structures with a chondrule-like appearance which give the colony’s surface its characteristic microscopic lumpy phenotype. Furthermore, they exhibit different levels of maturation from the edge to the center of the colony. Hence, its generation appears to follow a spatiotemporal program of development during the macrocolony’s morphogenesis. Interestingly, the agar’s hardness influences the morphology exhibited by these formations, with high agar concentration (1.5%, 15 g/L) suppressing its development. This new auto-aggregative E. coli’s behaviour does not require the activity of the biofilm master regulator CsgD, the adhesiveness of flagella, pili type 1, adhesin Ag43, β-1,6-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine polymer-PGA, cellulose or colanic acid, but it is under glucose repression and the control of cAMP receptor protein (CRP). The possible physiological role of these chondrule-like formations in the adaptability of the colony to different stressful environmental conditions is discussed.

To increase the accurate finishing productivity of Inconel 600, plain turning by Tantalum thin film hard coated k.20 carbide insert is studied. The main focus of this investigation is the turning performance of Inconel 600 with coated cutting insert by studying the relation ships among machining conditions such as feed rate, tool wear, cutting speed, depth of cut and work piece surface quality and material removal rate. Machining experiments are conducted on self centering medium duty lathe under different machining conditions. The result provides some useful information.

Human endogenous retroviruses(HERVs) are retroviruses that infected human genome millions of years ago and have persisted throughout human evolution. About 8% of our genome is composed of HERVs, most of which are nonfunctional because of epigenetic control or deactivating mutations. However, a correlation between HERVs and human cancer has been described and many tumors, such as melanoma, breast cancer, germ cell tumors, renal cancer or ovarian cancer, express HERV proteins, mainly HERV-k(HML6) and HERV-k(HML2). Although the causative role of HERVs in cancer is controversial, data from animal models demonstrated that endogenous retroviruses are potentially oncogenic. HERV protein expression in human cells generates an immune response by activating innate and adaptive immunities. Some HERV-derived peptides have antigenic properties. For example, HERV-k(HML-6) encodes the HER-k MEL peptide recognized by CD8+ lymphocytes. In addition, HERVs are twoedged immunomodulators. HERVs show immunosuppressive activity. The presence of genomic retroviral elements in host-cell cytosol may activate an interferon type I response. Therefore, targeting HERVs through cellular vaccines or immunomodulatory drugs combined with checkpoint inhibitors is attracting interest because they could be active in human tumors.

Double floating arm injury in a child： a case report and review of the literature

The combination of ipsilateral humeral fractures at three different levels namely proximal, shaft and supracondyle has been rarely defined in the literature. We present a case report on such a complex injury in a 10-year- old child after falling down from the second floor of his house while playing. To the best of our knowledge, no such case report exists in the English literature. We define it as ＂double floating arm＂ injury. Firstly, shaft of humerus was open reduced and fixed with 4.5 mm narrow dynamic com- pression plate. Then closed reduction and pinning of the supracondylar humerus under an image intensifier was obtained. Open reduction using deltopectoral approach to the proximal humerus was done and the fracture was fixed with three k-wires. Ipsilateral multiple fractures in children often result from high energy trauma. Immediate reduction and fixation is required. Usually surgeons need to treat simple fractures firstly, which makes the subsequent treat- ment of complex fractures easier.

In the present work, new kinetics to describe the creaming stability of oil-in-water emulsions determined by backscattering measurements （BS） is proposed. The emulsions assayed exhibited a different backscattering profiles regarding creaming destabilization hyperbolic and sigmoid one. Hyperbolic behavior can be described by a second order kinetics, where k_h could be equaled to a rate constant that describes the creaming process and its values would indicate the stability of emulsions. While for the sigmoid BS pattern, kinetics with two terms, is adequate to describe the creaming process in contrast to kinetics previously reported in the literature. The kh value has the same meaning as before, and ks indicates the delaying effect on the creaming rate.
