The monitoring of trees is crucial for the management of large areas of forest cultivations,but this process may be ***,remotely sensed data offers a solution to automate this *** this work,we used two neural network methods named You Only Look Once(YOLO)and Mask R-CNN to overcome the challenging tasks of counting,detecting,and segmenting high dimensional Red–Green–Blue(RGB)images taken from unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs).We present a processing framework,which is suitable to generate accurate predictions for the aforementioned tasks using a reasonable amount of labeled *** compared our method using forest stands of different ages and *** counting,YOLO overestimates 8.5%of the detected trees on average,whereas Mask R-CNN overestimates a 4.7%of the *** the detection task,YOLO obtains a precision of 0.72 and a recall of 0.68 on average,while Mask R-CNN obtains a precision of 0.82 and a recall of *** segmentation,YOLO overestimates a 13.5%of the predicted area on average,whereas Mask R-CNN overestimates a 9.2%.The proposed methods present a cost-effective solution for forest monitoring using RGB images and have been successfully used to monitor∼146,500 acres of pine cultivations.

This paper presents an experimental and analytical investigation of the influence of variables related to soil weathering on the geomechanical performance of sand-silt mixtures containing lateritic soils,*** weathered tropical soils with the influence of interparticle *** sand-silt mixtures containing different relative proportions between uniform sand and lateritic soil were produced,and geomechanical soil characterization tests were *** on the results,a transition from a primarily coarse-to a fine-grained prevailing soil structure was found to cause considerable impact on the geomechanical performance of these soils,as evidenced by design variables related to soil mineralogy and size distribution ***,fines contents of both individual soil particles and soil aggregations were found to correlate with experimental results,while the relative proportion between sesquioxides(aluminum,and iron oxides),and silica,***-silica ratios(SSR^(-1)),facilitated estimates concerning changes in geomechanical ***,the application of the sandsilt mixtures containing lateritic soil on soil walls reinforced with polymeric strips was also evaluated,further emphasizing the potential advantages of adopting variables related to soil weathering on design guidelines concerning tropical soils.

Objective:To compare the DNA sequences of Leishmania(L.)donovani isolated from individuals in two districts of the Northern Province with other parts of Sri Lanka and neighboring ***:Samples were collected from military personnel at the Army Hospital,Narahenpita,Sri Lanka from November 2018 to March 2020.A portion of the samples was fixed,stained with Giemsa and observed under the light *** genomic The DNA was extracted from the remaining portion of the samples using DNEasy blood tissue kit(Qiagen,Germany)and amplified using Leishmania genus-specific primers for molecular diagnosis *** was amplified using *** species-specific primers by PCR and the amplified product was sequenced for comparison of nucleotide ***:Out of 76 suspected patients,at least one biological sample of 45(59.2%)was positive for *** upon ***,33(43.4%)were positive in Leishmania genus-specific PCR,but only 23(30.3%)were positive in *** specific *** dendrogram indicates that the current sequences clustered together with those from Nepal and Gampaha districts(Western Province),Sri Lanka,while the Indian and Eastern African sequences clustered ***:The genetic diversity was low among the isolates,indicating a single and possibly a local point of ***,the similarity of Sri Lankan and Nepal strains indicate a possibility of a shared point of origin,which needs more extensive evidence to confirm.

Purpose:This study aimed to examine the reliability and validity of load-velocity(L-V)relationship variables obtained through the 2-point method using different load combinations and velocity ***:Twenty men performed 2 identical sessions consisting of 2 countermovement jumps against 4 external loads(20 kg,40 kg,60 kg,and80 kg)and a heavy squat against a load linked to a mean velocity(MV)of 0.55 m/s(load_(0.55)).The L-V relationship variables(load-axis intercept(L_(0)),velocity-axis intercept(v_(0)),and area under the L-V relationship line(A_(line)))were obtained using 3 velocity variables(MV,mean propulsive velocity(MPV),and peak velocity)by the multiple-point method including(20-40-60-80-load_(0.55))and excluding(20-40-60-80)the heavy squat,as well as from their respective 2-point methods(20-load_(0.55)and 20-80).Results:The L-V relationship variables were obtained with an acceptable reliability(coefncient of variation(CV)≤7.30%;intra-class correlation coefficient>0.63).The reliability of L_(0)and v_(0)was comparable for both methods(CV_(ratio)(calculated as higher value/lower value):1.11-1.12),but the multiple-point method provided Al_(ine)with a greater reliability(CV_(ratio)=1.26).The use of a heavy squat provided the L-V relationship variables with a comparable or higher reliability than the use of a heavy countermovement jump load(CV_(ratio):1.06-1.19).The peak velocity provided the load-velocity relationship variables with the greatest reliability(CV_(ratio):1.15-1.86)followed by the MV(CV_(ratio):1.07-1.18),and finally the *** 2-point methods only revealed an acceptable validity for the MV and MPV(effect size≤0.19;Pearson s product-moment correlation coefficient≥0.96;Lin's concordance correlation coefficient≥0.94).Conclusion:The 2-point method obtained from a heavy squat load and MV or MPV is a quick,safe,and reliable procedure to evaluate the lower-body maximal neuromuscular capacities through the L-V relationship.

A Portable Algorithm to Retrieve Bottom Depth of Optically Shallow Waters from Top-Of-Atmosphere Measurements

Bottom depth(H)of optically shallow waters can be retrieved from multiband imagery,where remote sensing reflectance(R_(rs))are commonly used as the *** of the difficulties of removing the atmospheric effects in coastal areas,quite often,there are no valid R_(rs) from satellites for the retrieval of *** importantly,the empirical algorithms for H are hardly portable to new *** this study,using data from Landsat-8 and ICESat-2 as examples,we present an approach to retrieve H directly from the top-of-atmosphere(TOA)*** not only bypasses the requirement to correct the effects of aerosols but also shows promising portability to areas not included in algorithm ***,we use Rayleigh-corrected TOA reflectance(ρ_(rc))in the 443–2300nm range as input,along with a multilayer perceptron(MLP^(ρ_(rc))_(H)),for the retrieval of *** than 78,000 matchup points ofρ_(rc)and H(0–25 m)were used to train MLP^(ρ_(rc))_(H),which resulted in a Mean Absolute Percentage Difference(MARD)of 8.8%and a coefficient of determination(R^(2))of *** MLP^(ρ_(rc))_(H)was further applied to Landsat-8 data of six regions not included in the training phase,generating MARD and R^(2)values of 8.3%and 0.98,*** contrast,a conventional two-band ratio algorithm with R_(rs) as the input generated MARD and R^(2)values of 31.6%and 0.68 and significantly fewer H retrievals due to failures in atmospheric *** results indicate a breakthrough of algorithm portability of MLP^(ρ_(rc))_(H)in sensing H of optically shallow waters.

Soil erosion is one of the most serious environmental issues,especially in vulnerable areas such as the Pisha sandstone regions located in the Loess Plateau(China).In these types of reliefs,long-term studies monitoring runoff and soil loss are scarce,and even more considering the efficiency of different soil management techniques applied to reduce land *** this study,seven years(2014-2020)of in-situ measurements of surface runoff and soil loss for different land uses(forestland,shrubland,grassland,farmland,and bare land)in a Pisha Sandstone environment at the Loess Plateau were *** applied the Water Erosion Prediction Project(WEPP)model combining the large database with the precipitation *** results showed that runoff volume coming from observed and simulated data exhibited significant differences among them depending on the different vegetation *** and soil loss were different among diverse land use types as follows:farmland>grassland>shrubland>*** conducting a calibration,we found satisfactorily simulated surface runoff and sediment yield based on precipitation regimes and land uses at sandstone *** performance of surface runoff was better than sediment *** range of standard error of the model simulation for event and annual values of runoff were 4.71 mm and 12.19 mm,*** standard error for event and annual values of soil loss were 4.19 t/hm^(2)and 21.86 t/hm^(2).In the calibration group,R2 of runoff and soil loss were 0.92 and 0.86 respectively,while Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient(E)reached 0.90 and 0.85,*** the validation group,the R2 for both runoff and soil loss were 0.82 and 0.56,***-Sutcliffe coefficient(E)were 0.77 and 0.54 for the runoff and sediment *** concluded that using a detailed monitoring dataset,the WEPP model could accu-rately simulate and predict water erosion in the hillslopes of Pisha sandstone area.

Bothrops envenomation is complex and provokes prominent local tissue damage and systemic disturbances,but little is known about their effects on the male reproductive *** intratesticular injection,the bioactive peptide fraction(Bj-PF)obtained from Bothrops jararaca snake venom changes the structure of different stages of the seminiferous epithelium cycle in adult *** the first time,we investigated whether local envenomation of Bj-PF induces toxicological effects on the male reproductive system,particularly on the seminiferous epithelium and Sertoli *** adult mice were treated with 0.24 ***^(-1) by intramuscular(i.m.)injection for 24 *** testes samples were collected for morphological and morphometric *** toxicological effects of Bj-PF were also analyzed on mitochondrial metabolism and nitrite(NO2)production in 15P-1 Sertoli cell ***-PF changed the structure and function of the seminiferous epithelium,particularly the disruption of the epithelium and the presence of degenerated germ cells in the adluminal compartment,but there were no alterations in the basal ***-PF increased the thickness of the seminiferous epithelium and decreased the lumen diameter of the *** histological assessment of the degree of tubule degeneration revealed that Bj-PF also increased the number of hypospermatogenic tubules compared to ***-PF reduced NO2 levels in 15P-1 Sertoli cells without changing the mitochondrial ***,the fact that Bj-PF alters the structure and function of the seminiferous epithelium suggests that bioactive peptides found in *** snake venom can have toxicological effects on the reproductive systems of affected male mice,providing new insight into the biological characteristics of snake venom and therapeutic strategies for envenomation inflammation.
