描述了中国云南北部的金丝桃属Hypericum l.(藤黄科)两个新种,即楚雄金丝桃H. fosteri N. robson和漾濞金丝桃H. wardianum N. robson。二者均与短柱金丝桃H. hookerianum Wight & Arn.相近。楚雄金丝桃为一地方特有种,目前仅在模式地点发现;漾濞金丝桃在缅甸东北部还有分布。二者主要以蒴果伸长,非卵状近球形,萼片无中脉而有别于短柱金丝桃。此外,将宽萼金丝桃H. latisepalum (N. robson) N. robson从亚种提升为种;将变异较大的纤枝金丝桃H. lagarocladum N. robson划分为两个亚种,即叶较宽、具有开张习性的原亚种纤枝金丝桃H. lagarocladum ssp. lagarocladum和叶较窄、更为直立的新亚种狭叶金丝桃H. lagarocladum ssp. angustifolium N. robson。

Chronic liver diseases(ClDs)are becoming increasingly more prevalent in modern *** use of imaging techniques for early detection,such as magnetic resonance imaging(MRI),is crucial in reducing the impact of these diseases on healthcare *** intelligence(AI)algorithms have been shown over the past decade to excel at image-based analysis tasks such as detection and *** applied to liver MRI,they have the potential to improve clinical decision making,and increase throughput by automating *** liver diseases becoming more prevalent in society,the need to implement these techniques to utilize liver MRI to its full potential,is *** this review,we report on the current methods and applications of AI methods in liver MRI,with a focus on machine learning and deep learning *** assess four main themes of segmentation,classification,image synthesis and artefact detection,and their respective potential in liver MRI and the wider *** provide a brief explanation of some of the algorithms used and explore the current challenges affecting the *** there are many hurdles to overcome in implementing AI methods in the clinic,we conclude that AI methods have the potential to positively aid healthcare professionals for years to come.

Hypospadias is the most common congenital anomaly of the penis. The problem usually develops sporadically and without an obvious underlying cause. The ectopically positioned urethral meatus lies proximal to the normal site and on the ventral aspect of the penis, and in severe cases opens onto the scrotum or perineum. The foreskin on the ventral surface is deficient, while that on the dorsal surface is abundant, giving the appearance of a dorsal hood. Chordee is more common in severe cases. Cryptorchidism and inguinal hernia are the most common associated anomalies. The frequency of associated anomalies increases with the severity of hypospadias. For isolated anterior or middle hypospadias, laboratory studies are not usually necessary. Screening for urinary tract anomalies should be considered in patients with posterior hypospadias and in those with an anomaly of at least one additional organ system. The ideal age for surgical repair in a healthy child is between 6 and 12 months of age. Most cases can be repaired in a single operation and on an outpatient basis. Even patients with a less than perfect surgical result are usually able to enjoy a satisfactory sexual life.

Back pain is a common condition with a high social impact and represents a global health *** disc disease(IVDD)is one of the major causes of back pain;no therapeutics are currently available to reverse this *** impact of bone mineral density(BMD)on IVDD has been controversial,with some studies suggesting osteoporosis as causative for IVDD and others suggesting it as protective for *** studies to evaluate the influence of genetic components of BMD in IVDD could highlight opportunities for drug development and *** taking a holistic 3D approach,we established an aging zebrafish model for spontaneous *** BMD in aging,detected by automated computational analysis,is caused by bone deformities at the ***,aged zebrafish spines showed changes in bone morphology,microstructure,mineral heterogeneity,and increased fragility that resembled *** of the discs recapitulated IVDD symptoms found in humans:the intervertebral ligament(equivalent to the annulus fibrosus)showed disorganized collagen fibers and herniation,while the disc center(nucleus pulposus equivalent)showed dehydration and cellular *** manipulated BMD in young zebrafish by mutating sp7 and cathepsin K,leading to low and high BMD,***,we detected IVDD in both groups,demonstrating that low BMD does not protect against IVDD,and we found a strong correlation between high BMD and *** learning was applied to high-resolution synchrotron\iCJ image data to analyze osteocyte 3D lacunar distribution and morphology,revealing a role of sp7 in controlling the osteocyte lacunar 3D *** findings suggest potential avenues through which bone quality can be targeted to identify beneficial therapeutics for IVDD.

AIM:To evaluate the effect of β-blockade on angiotensins in the splanchnic and peripheral circulation of cirrhotic patients and also to compare hemodynamic parameters during liver transplantation according to propranolol pre-treatment or not. METHODS:Patients were allocated into two groups:outpatients with advanced liver disease(lD) and during liver transplantation(lT). Both groups were subdivided according to treatment with propranolol or not. Plasma was collected through peripheral venipuncture to determine plasma renin activity(PRA),Angiotensin(Ang) Ⅰ,Ang Ⅱ,and Ang-(1-7) levels by radioimmunoassay in lD group. During liver transplantation,hemodynamic parameters were determined and blood samples were obtained from the portal vein to measure renin angiotensin system(RAS) ***:PRA,Ang Ⅰ,Ang Ⅱ and Ang-(1-7) were signifi cantly lower in the portal vein and periphery in all subgroups treated with propranolol as compared to non-treated. The relationships between Ang-(1-7) and Ang Ⅰ levels and between Ang Ⅱ and Ang Ⅰ were significantly increased in lD group receiving propranolol. The ratio between Ang-(1-7) and Ang Ⅱ remained unchanged in splanchnic and peripheral circulation in patients under β-blockade,whereas the relationship between Ang Ⅱ and Ang Ⅰ was significantly increased in splanchnic circulation of lT patients treated with propranolol. During liver transplantation,cardiac output and index as well systemic vascular resistance and index were reduced in propranolol-treated subgroup. CONClUSION:In lD group,propranolol treatment reduced RAS mediators,but did not change the ratio between Ang-(1-7) and Ang Ⅱ in splanchnic and peripheral circulation. Furthermore,the modification of hemodynamic parameters in propranolol treated patients was not associated with changes in the angiotensin ratio.

Upper lillooet River Hydroelectric Project： The Challenges of Constructing a Power Tunnel for Run-of-River Hydro Projects in Mountainous British Columbia

The Upper lillooet River Hydroelectric Project （UlHP） is a run-of-river power generation scheme located near Pemberton, British Columbia, Canada, consisting of two separate hydroelectric facilities （HEFs） with a combined capacity of 106.7 MW. These HEFs are owned by the Upper lillooet River Power limited Partnership and the Boulder Creek Power limited Partnership, and civil and tunnel construction was completed by CRT-ebc. The Upper lillooet River HEF includes the excavation ofa 6 m wide by 5.5 m high and approximately 2500 m long tunnel along the Upper lillooet River Valley. The project is in a moun- tainous area; severe restrictions imposed by weather conditions and the presence of sensitive wildlife species constrained the site operations in order to limit environmental impacts. The site is adjacent to the Mount Meager Volcanic Complex, the most recently active volcano in Western Canada. Tunneling conditions were very challenging, including a section through deposits associated with the most recent eruption from Mount Meager Volcanic Complex （-2360 years before the present）. This tunnel section included welded breccia and unconsolidated deposits composed of loose pumice, organics （that represent an old forest floor）, and till, before entering the underlying tonalite bedrock. The construction of this section of the tunnel required cover grouting, umbrella support, and excavation with a combination of road header, hydraulic hammer, and drilling-and-blasting method. This paper provides an overview of the project, a summary of the key design and construction schedule challenges, and a description of the successful excavation of the tunnel through deposits associated with the recent volcanic activity.

Cancer is a highly heterogeneous group of diseases that despite improved treatments remain prevalent accounting for over 14 million new cases and 8.2 million deaths per year. Studies into the process of carcinogenesis are limited by lack of appropriate models for the development and pathogenesis of the disease based on human tissues. Primary culture of patient samples can help but is difficult to grow for a number of tissues. A potential opportunity to overcome these barriers is based on the landmark study by Yamanaka which demonstrated the ability of four factors;Oct4, Sox2, Klf4, and c-Myc to reprogram human somatic cells in to pluripotency. These cells were termed induced pluripotent stem cells(i PSCs) and display characteristic properties of embryonic stem cells. This technique has a wide range of potential uses including disease modelling, drug testing and transplantation studies. Interestingly i PSCs also share a number of characteristics with cancer cells including self-renewal and proliferation, expression of stem cell markers and altered metabolism. Recently, i PSCs have been generated from a number of human cancer cell lines and primary tumour samples from a range of cancers in an attempt to recapitulate the development of cancer and interrogate the underlying mechanisms involved. This review will outline the similarities between the reprogramming process and carcinogenesis, and how these similarities have been exploited to generate i PSC models for a number of cancers.

Identification of Artificial Neural Network Models for Three-Dimensional Simulation of a Vibration-Acoustic Dynamic System

Industrial noise can be successfully mitigated with the combined use of passive and Active Noise Control (ANC) strategies. In a noisy area, a practical solution for noise attenuation may include both the use of baffles and ANC. When the operator is required to stay in movement in a delimited spatial area, conventional ANC is usually not able to adequately cancel the noise over the whole area. New control strategies need to be devised to achieve acceptable spatial coverage. A three-dimensional actuator model is proposed in this paper. Active Noise Control (ANC) usually requires a feedback noise measurement for the proper response of the loop controller. In some situations, especially where the real-time tridimensional positioning of a feedback transducer is unfeasible, the availability of a 3D precise noise level estimator is indispensable. In our previous works [1,2], using a vibrating signal of the primary source of noise as an input reference for spatial noise level prediction proved to be a very good choice. Another interesting aspect observed in those previous works was the need for a variable-structure linear model, which is equivalent to a sort of a nonlinear model, with unknown analytical equivalence until now. To overcome this in this paper we propose a model structure based on an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) as a nonlinear black-box model to capture the dynamic nonlinear behaveior of the investigated process. This can be used in a future closed loop noise cancelling strategy. We devise an ANN architecture and a corresponding training methodology to cope with the problem, and a MISO (Multi-Input Single-Output) model structure is used in the identification of the system dynamics. A metric is established to compare the obtained results with other works elsewhere. The results show that the obtained model is consistent and it adequately describes the main dynamics of the studied phenomenon, showing that the MISO approach using an ANN is appropriate for the si
