The main current benefit of collaboration between Quaternary scientists and palaeoanthropologists (especially palaeolithic archaeologists) lies in providing a unique perspective on how human populations respond to long-term climate change. Eurasia has a superlative record of climatic changes over the last two million years, and an archaeological record that is regionally variable in quality, but which is drawn from a wide range of environmental and chronological contexts. At a continental scale, the integration of these records allows the past 2 Ma to be divided into six major themes of how hominins (our remote ancestors) and our own species responded to climatic changes at Milankovitch and sub-Milankovitch scales. These themes are the initial hominin colonisation of Asia after ∼2 Ma; the dispersal of hominins into Europe in the Early Pleistocene and its eventual permanent colonisation in the Middle Pleistocene; the expansion of Acheulean, bifacial assemblages from the Levant to western Europe and India after 600 ka; the responses of hominin populations to Milankovitch-length climatic changes during the Middle Pleistocene; the expansion of modern humans after 100 ka across Eurasia and later into Australasia and the Americas; and the recolonisation at millennial scales of abandoned areas of Eurasia at the end of last ice age. As the quality of Quaternary and archaeological information improves, these responses of past human populations to climatic change will be documented at a level of detail unimaginable a few decades ago. Cumulatively, this type of collaboration provides a unique perspective on the consequences of large-scale climatic change upon human populations that is particularly relevant to current concerns of climate change.

The Nutri-Score is a 5-color front-of-pack nutrition label designed to provide consumers with an easily understandable guideline to the healthiness of food *** impact that the Nutri-Score may have on consumers'choices is unclear since different experimental paradigms have found vastly different effect *** the present study,we have investigated how student participants change a hypothetical personal 1-daydietary plan after a learning phase during which they learn about the Nutri-Scores of the available food *** were instructed to compose a healthy diet plan in order that the question of whether the NutriScore would improve their ability to compose a healthy dietary plan could be investigated,independent of the question of whether they would apply this knowledge in their ordinary *** found a substantial(Cohen's d=0.86)positive impact on nutritional quality(as measured by the Nutrient Profiling System score of the Food Standards Agency)and a medium-sized(Cohen's d=0.43)reduction of energy *** content reduction was larger for participants who had initially composed plans with higher energy *** results suggest that the Nutri-Score has the potential to guide consumers to healthier food *** remains unclear,however,whether this potential will be reflected in real-life dietary choices.

The viscous dissipation limit of weak solutions is considered for the Navier-Stokes equations of compressible isentropic flows confined in a bounded *** establish a Kato-type criterion for the validity of the inviscid limit for the weak solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations in a function space with the regularity index close to Onsager’s critical *** particular,we prove that under such a regularity assumption,if the viscous energy dissipation rate vanishes in a boundary layer of thickness in the order of the viscosity,then the weak solutions of the Navier-Stokes equations converge to a weak admissible solution of the Euler *** approach is based on the commutator estimates and a subtle foliation technique near the boundary of the domain.

One of the crucial issues in the chemical looping technology lies in its bed material:the oxygen *** size analysis of an oxygen carrier is important since in a fluidized bed the material can only work well within a specific size *** the favorable size ranges for oxygen carrier materials have already been reported,none of the published studies has analyzed the particle size and shape of oxygen carriers in ***,the effect of oxygen carriers'oxidation degree on such properties has not been considered *** study aimed to report the particle size and shape analysis of five iron-based oxygen carriers,one natural ore,one synthetic material,and three residue products,at different oxidation degrees using dynamic image analysis(DIA).The oxygen carriers were prepared at different mass conversion degrees in a fluidized bed batch *** size distribution,sphericity,and aspect ratio of the oxygen carrier particles were examined experimentally using a Camsizer *** results show that the DIA method was successfully able to analyze the particle size and shape of our oxygen carriers with satisfying accuracy for *** oxidation state of the investigated materials seems to only affect the particle size and shape of oxygen carriers to a minor ***,exposures to redox cycles in a fluidized bed reactor may alter the particle size and shape of most oxygen carriers.

Zero trust architecture(ZTA)is a paradigm shift in how we protect data,stay connected and access *** is non-perimeter-based defence,which has been emerging as a promising revolution in the cyber security *** can be used to continuously maintain security by safeguarding against attacks both from inside and outside of the network ***,ZTA automation and orchestration,towards seamless deployment on real-world networks,has been limited to be reviewed in the existing *** this paper,we first identify the bottlenecks,discuss the background of ZTA and compare it with traditional perimeter-based security *** importantly,we provide an in-depth analysis of state-of-the-art AI techniques that have the potential in the automation and orchestration of ***,in this review paper,we develop a foundational view on the challenges and potential enablers for the automation and orchestration of ZTA.

自1920年以来,在中国黄土高原及邻近地区的黄土及河湖相地层分布区发现了大量的古人类活动遗迹地点,其中包括著名的泥河湾、水洞沟、萨拉乌苏、丁村、大荔、匼河-西侯度、庄浪、庆阳、三门峡、东秦岭地区以及蓝田地区等.在陕西蓝田的最新研究进展是运用第四纪地质学与古人类学和旧石器考古学交叉学科的综合研究方法,以黄土-古土壤序列和高分辨率磁性地层年代框架为依据,发现了公王岭遗址黄土地层的强烈侵蚀和多组地层缺失,确定了直立人头盖骨与伴生的古动物化石所埋藏的地层不是前人原确定的粉砂质黄土L15中部(年代为1.15 Ma),而是位于一个大侵蚀面之下的S22~S23古土壤混合层(年代为1.63 Ma).同时,在蓝田上陈一带发现了新的出露良好的连续黄土-古土壤剖面(L5~L28),并在早更新世S15~L28层段的17层黄土或古土壤层位中发现了原地埋藏的数量不等的旧石器,其年代为1.26~2.12 Ma.研究结果使蓝田地区成为迄今所知非洲以外最古老的人类活动地区之一,这不仅在人类起源和演化方面提出了新的科学思考,并拓展了'黄土石器工业'和'黄土地质考古带'的研究方向,提出了中国黄土高原高分辨率黄土-古土壤序列与多时期古人类活动序列关联研究的新设想.

Today’s explosion of data urgently requires memory technologies capable of storing large volumes of data in shorter time frames,a feat unattain-able with Flash or *** Optane,commonly referred to as three-dimensional phase change memory,stands out as one of the most promising *** Optane with cross-point architecture is constructed through layering a storage element and a selector known as the ovonic threshold switch(OTS).The OTS device,which employs chalcogenide film,has thereby gathered increased attention in recent *** this paper,we begin by providing a brief introduction to the discovery process of the OTS ***,we summarize the key elec-trical parameters of OTS devices and delve into recent explorations of OTS materials,which are categorized as Se-based,Te-based,and S-based material ***,we discuss various models for the OTS switching mechanism,including field-induced nucleation model,as well as several carrier injection ***,we review the progress and innovations in OTS mechanism ***,we highlight the successful application of OTS devices in three-dimensional high-density memory and offer insights into their promising performance and extensive prospects in emerging applications,such as self-selecting memory and neuromorphic computing.

Myocarditis is a disease process that every emergency physician fears *** severity can be mild to life-threatening,and many cases are likely undetected because they are subclinical with nonspecifi c signs.[1]Subtle cardiac signs may be overshadowed by systemic symptoms of the underlying infectious ***,myalgias,lethargy,symptoms commonly associated with viral syndrome,can mask the life-threatening myocarditis that may be *** fact,in the United States Myocarditis Treatment Trial,almost 90%of patients reported symptoms consistent with a viral prodrome.[2]Ammirati et al[3]reported that 27%of patients with myocarditis had either reduced left ventricular ejection fraction,ventricular arrhythmias,or low cardiac ***,we present a case report,in which handheld point-of-care ultrasound was utilized at the bedside to aid in the critical diagnosis of *** the additional information provided through this imaging modality,this patient was able to be transferred to the appropriate tertiary care facility in an expeditious manner and receive possible defi nitive treatment.
