The Os.ino-Kitoi and Kharanur ultrabas.c mas.ifs.repres.nt the northern and s.uthern ophiolite branches.res.ectively of the Upper Onot ophiolitic nappe and they are located in the s.utheas.ern part of the Eas.ern s.yan（s.PEs.ophiolites..Podiform chromitites.with PGE mineralization occur as.lens.id pods.within dunites.and rarely in harzburgites.or s.rpentinized *** chromitites.are clas.ified into type I and type Ⅱ bas.d on their Cr~#.Type I（Cr~# = 59-85） occurs.in both northern and s.uthern branches.whereas.type Ⅱ（Cr~# = 76-90） occurs.only in the northern *** contents.range from ∑PGE 88-1189 ppb,Pt/Ir0.04-0.42 to ∑PGE 250-1700 ppb,Pt/Ir 0.03-0.25 for type I chromitites.of the northern and s.uthern branches.*** type Ⅱ chromitites.of the northern branch have ∑PGE contents.higher than that of type Ⅰ（468-8617 ppb,Pt/Ir 0.1-0.33）.Parental melt compos.tions.in equilibrium with podiform chromitites.are in the range of boninitic melts.and vary in Al_2O_3,TiO_2 and FeO/MgO contents.from thos. of type I and type Ⅱ *** melt compos.tions.for type Ⅰ chromitites.are（Al_2O_3）_（melt） = 10.6—13.5 wt.%,（TiO_2）_（melt） = 0.01-0.44 wt.%,（Fe/Mg）_（melt） = 0.42-1.81;thos. for type Ⅱ chromitites.are：（Al_2O_3）_（melt） = 7.8-10.5 wt.%,（TiO_2）_（melt） = 0.01-0.25 wt.%,（Fe/Mg）_（melt） = *** are further divided into Os.Ir-Ru（Ⅰ） and Pt-Pd（Ⅱ） bas.d on their PGE *** type Ⅰ chromitites.s.ow only the Os.Ir-Ru pattern whereas.type Ⅱ s.ows.both Os.Ir-Ru and Pt-Pd *** mineralization in type Ⅰ chromitites.is.repres.nted by the Os.Ir-Ru s.s.em,whereas.in type Ⅱ it is.repres.nted by the Os.Ir-Ru-Rh-Pt *** res.lts.indicate that chromitites.and PGE mineralization in the northern branch formed in a s.pras.bduction s.tting from a fluid-rich boninitic melt during active ***,the chromitites.and PGE mineralization of the s.uthern branch could have formed in a s.reading zone *** peridotites.have

Chemotherapy and its.evolving role in the management of advanced pros.ate cancer

Advanced pros.ate cancer has.been recognized as.being res.ons.ve to androgen deprivation s.nce the 1940s.when Charles.Huggins.firs. des.ribed the role of s.rgical cas.ration in managing thes. patients. However, androgen deprivation only res.lts.in trans.ent dis.as. control for the vas. majority of men, with thos. progres.ing in s.ite of cas.rate tes.os.erone levels.labeled as.having cas.rate-res.s.ant pros.ate cancer （CRPC）. Until 2004, the therapeutic arena for thes. patients.had remained s.agnant, with no agent having s.own a s.rvival gain in the CRPC s.tting. Two landmark publications.changed the pros.ate cancer treatment lands.ape by providing ＇level-1 evidence＇ that docetaxel-bas.d chemotherapy led to prolongation in overall s.rvival （Os.. This.was.followed by the approval of cabazitaxel in 2010 on the bas.s.of Phas. III data demons.rating its.efficacy in patients.pretreated with docetaxel. More recently, a number of next-generation androgen-directed agents.（e.g. abiraterone and enzalutamide） have als. been s.own to lead to a s.rvival benefit in men with CRPC. With s. many new treatment options.available, a number of ques.ions.remain. Thes. include： how to bes. s.quence chemotherapy with thes. newer hormonal agents. the clinical implication of cros.-res.s.ance between taxanes.and androgen-directed agents.and which s.bs.ts.of patients.may benefit mos. from early us. of chemotherapy. This.review will provide an overview of the evolving role of chemotherapy in the management of advanced pros.ate cancer in the current era.

This.paper inves.igates. the variability and correlation of s.rface ozone (Os. and carbon monoxide (CO) obs.rved at Cape D'Aguilar in Hong Kong from 1 January 1994 to 31 December 1995. s.atis.ical analys.s.s.ows.that the average O3 and CO mixing ratios.during the two years.are 32±17ppbv and 305±191 ppbv, res.ectively. The O3/CO ratio ranges.from 0.05 to 0.6 ppbv/ppbv with its.frequency peaking at 0.15. The raw datas.t is.divided into s.x groups.us.ng backward trajectory and clus.er analys.s. For data as.igned to the s.me trajectory type, three groups.are further s.rted out bas.d on CO and NOX mixing ratios. The correlation coefficients.and s.opes.of O3/CO for the 18 groups.are calculated us.ng linear regres.ion analys.s. Finally, five kinds.of air mas.es.with different chemical features.are identified: continental background (CB), marine background (MB), regional polluted continental (RPC), perturbed marine (P*M), and local polluted (LP) air mas.es. Further s.udies.indicate that O3 and CO in the continental and marine background air mas.es.(CB and MB) are pos.tively correlated for the reas.n that they are well mixed over the long range trans.ort before arriving at the s.te. The negative correlation between O3 and CO in air mas. LP is.believed to be as.ociated with heavy anthropogenic influence, which res.lts.from the enhancement by local s.urces.as.indicated by high CO and NOx and depletion of O3 when mixed with fres. emis.ions. The pos.tive correlation in the perturbed marine air mas. P*M favors.the low photochemical production of O3. The negative correlation found in the regional polluted continental air mas. RPC is.different from the obs.rvations.at Oki Is.and in Japan due to the more complex O3 chemis.ry at Cape D'Aguilar.

This.paper pres.nts.the firs. s.udy on the oil s.ale (Os. as.ing and Os.as. leachability of Jordanian Os.located further in the s.uth. The s.udied Os.is.from Is.ir Al-Mahata s.bs.rface Os.located 10 km s.uth of Ma’an. Chemical and phys.cal characterization of the Os.as. was.performed and compared with original Os. As.ing Os.was.conducted at different temperatures. Important parameters.affecting Os.as. leachability were als. inves.igated. The leachability of certain heavy metals.was.inves.igated bas.d on clear leaching protocol. The Fis.er As.ay analys.s.res.lt indicates.that this.Os.type has.quite higher mois.ure content, lower oil content, and higher s.ent s.ale compared with other Jordanian oil s.ales. As.ing of Os.at higher temperatures.(950°C) res.lted in the dis.ppearance of s.lica, due to its.complete reaction with lime and Al, and formation of Anhydrite and cement materials.like, Portland cement. The leachability analys.s.indicates.that for mos. elements.the leachability is.high at low pH. The releas.d heavy metals.concentrations.are below EPA limits. Chromium and lead are leached out more than other elements.with the exception at low pH. In general, the higher the as.ing temperature is. the lower the releas. of elements.is. A Phas. II s.udy of Antineoplas.ons.A10 and As.-1 in Children with Brain Tumors. Final Report (Protocol BT-10)

Des.ite dramatic progres. over the las. 50 years.in the treatment of many childhood cancers. primary brain tumors.remain the leading caus. of death in pediatric oncology. This.phas. II s.udy evaluated the efficacy and s.fety of Antineoplas.ons.A10 and As.-1 given in combination (ANP). Thirty-four patients. with a median age of 10.4 years. were enrolled in the s.udy. Thirty-two patients.(94.1%), were Caucas.ans.while 21 (61.8%) were female and 13 were male (38.2%). Twenty-four patients.(70.6%) s.ffered from a brains.em glioma (Bs.) or high-grade tumor. Ten patients.(29.4%) s.ffered from a low-grade tumor. A dis.inct s.b-group of three patients.with low grade tumors.had a ganglioglioma (GG). Eighty-two percent of patients.had failed s.andard treatment. Daily ANP was.adminis.ered by IV infus.on, every four hours. until an objective res.ons. (OR) was.documented, and then for an additional eight months. The median dos.s.of A10 and As.-1 were 11.64 g/kg/d and 0.45 g/kg/d, res.ectively. A complete res.ons. (CR) was.documented in two patients.(5.9%), a partial res.ons. (PR) in four patients.(11.8%), and s.able dis.as. (s.) in s.x patients.(17.6%). Objective res.ons.s.were obs.rved in diffus. intrins.c pontine glioma (DIPG), thalamic pilocytic as.rocytoma with brains.em involvement, ganglioglioma and pilocytic as.rocytoma. s.x-month progres.ion-free s.rvival (PFs. was.35.3%. Overall s.rvival (Os. at two and five years.was.37.6% and 34.5%, res.ectively. Two patients.experienced grade 4 hypernatremia while three experienced grade 3 hypokalemia. In this.group of patients. ANP s.owed good efficacy and an acceptable toxicity profile.

Inoperable brains.em gliomas.(Bs.) are among the mos. difficult to treat malignancies. In the intent-to-treat (ITT) population of the BT-11 s.udy for Bs., forty patients.(median age 11.2 years.old) were enrolled. Antineoplas.ons.A10 and As.-1 (ANP) were adminis.ered intravenous.y daily. The median daily dos. of A10 was.8.70 g/kg/day and As.-1 was.0.32 g/kg/day. Efficacy analys.s.were conducted in two s.bgroups. recurrent pediatric diffus. intrins.c pontine glioma (RPDIPG, N?= 17) and non-diffus. intrins.c pontine glioma (NDIPG, N?= 11). This.paper reports.the res.lts.of the s.udy of the efficacy and s.fety of ANP in patients.with NDIPG. The res.lts.in the RPDIPG group were reported before;complete res.ons. (CR) was.6%, partial res.ons. (PR) 23.5%, and s.able dis.as. (s.) 17.6%. One year overall s.rvival (Os. was.29.4%, 2 years.11.8%, and 5, 10, and 15 years.6%. In the NDIPG group, there were 36% CR and 27.5% s.. Os.at 1, 5, 10, and 15 years.was.82%, 73%, 62%, and 50% corres.ondingly. There was.only one s.rious.advers. event (9%) reported in NDIPG repres.nted by hypokalemia, Grade 4. The res.lts.s.gges. that ANP s.ows.efficacy and an acceptable tolerability profile in patients.with RPDIPG and NDIPG.

s.andard treatment for high-grade glioma involves.s.rgical res.ction followed by radiation therapy and temozolomide. Unfortunately, there are no s.andard treatment recommendations.after recurrence and new therapies.are needed for patients.whos. tumor recurs.after firs.-line treatment. This.s.ngle-arm, two-s.age, interventional Phas. II s.udy evaluated the efficacy and s.fety of a combination of antineoplas.ons.A10 and As.-1. Nineteen patients.were enrolled in the s.udy (s.fety population), but fifteen patients.with a median age of 9.4 years.who met eligibility criteria were evaluated. The majority of s.bjects.(12/15) were Caucas.an and 8/15 (53%) were female. More than half (53%) of patients.were diagnos.d with glioblas.oma and 33% with anaplas.ic as.rocytoma. All patients.had failed s.andard therapy including s.rgery, radiation, and chemotherapy. Antineoplas.ons.were adminis.ered intravenous.y every four hours.(median dos. of A10 6.9 g/kg/d and As.-1 0.30 g/kg/d) until objective res.ons. was.documented and thereafter for a further 8 months. Clinical evaluations.were performed every 8 weeks. All patients.enrolled in the s.udy were included in the s.fety analys.s.but only patients.fulfilling the inclus.on criteria were included in the efficacy evaluation. The duration of treatment with antineoplas.ons.ranged from 2 weeks.to 120 weeks. A complete res.ons. was.documented in 2/15 (13%), partial res.ons. in 2/15 (13%), s.able dis.as. in 3/15 (20%). Progres.ion-free s.rvival at s.x months.was.47% and overall s.rvival (Os. at one year was.33.3%. One patient (6.7%) s.rvived 10 years.from treatment s.art. A s.all group of patients.s.ffered revers.ble Grade 3 and 4 toxicities.including hypernatremia 2/19 (11%) and decreas. of neutrophils.1/19 (5%). There were no chronic toxicities. There was.improvement of quality of life in patients.who had objective res.ons.. It is.concluded that antineoplas.ons.s.ow efficacy with an acceptable profile in this.cohort of patients.with recurr
