Adsorption of Light Hydrocarbons on LTA and FER Zeolites

This paper reports the results of an experimental study on adsorption of light hydrocarbons on small pore microporous materials. The choice of hydrocarbons studied was affected taking into consideration the application of adsorption processes in removal of light hydrocarbons from exhaust streams of the petrochemical industry and of light-duty gasoline vehicles under cold start conditions (C4-C5 paraffins and olefins). The materials investigated were 5A and Ferrierite zeolites, characterized by different pore opening and Si/Al ratio. Equilibrium isotherm curves at room temperature were determined by a gravimetric method on dehydrated zeolites, while breakthrough curves in dynamic tests were used to evaluate the adsorption properties of hydrated zeolites at low hydrocarbon partial pressure (0-1 kPa) and in experimental conditions close to those of a HC trap at the engine exhaust. The experimental results regarding the adsorption capacities were discussed with the aim to understand how the physico-chemical characteristics of the adsorbent material could affect its trapping capability in adsorbing different types of hydrocarbons.

目的利用光弹模型研究聚缩醛树脂义齿(隐形义齿)修复KennedyⅡ类牙列缺损的生物力学。方法建立下颌KennedyⅡ类牙列缺损((?)缺失)光弹模型,分别设计和制作聚缩醛树脂全隐形义齿、混合型隐形义齿和传统的金属支架可摘局部义齿。模拟双侧及单侧后牙加载,观察加载时三种义齿设计基牙和缺牙区牙槽嵴的载荷光弹图像,分别记录应力分布情况并加以分析和比较。结果三种义齿设计光弹模型应力分布分析显示,在单侧和双侧加载时,全隐形义齿基牙和缺牙区牙槽嵴承受压力最大,传统的金属支架可摘局部义齿(金属支架设计)承受压力沿基牙牙体长轴传导,基牙和剩余牙槽嵴承受压力最小且分布最均匀。结论对于KennedyⅡ类牙列缺损,全隐形义齿修复对基牙和剩余牙槽嵴损伤较大;而传统的金属支架可摘局部义齿使支持组织受力均匀、合理,应作为设计的首选。

This paper, which is to be collocated with international research studies of the historical origins of corporate social responsibility （CSR）, deals with both the theme of CSR itself and the topics related to it through an examination of the key characteristics of the theories of the master in the field of Italian Economia Aziendale, Paolo Emilio Cassandro （1910-2004）, who wrote an impressive number of works on numerous subjects that are of notable current relevance, including the social role of business, the concept of added value, and the role of the social report in the process of providing information for external purposes. Through an analytical-descriptive approach, our work will focus in particular on certain aspects of his life and works, which show beyond doubt the great value of his contribution to the advancement, at both national and international levels, of research into CSR. The main aim of what follows is to highlight not only the innovative nature of Cassandro＇s studies of the subject when compared with other research carried out in Italy in the second half of the 20th century but also how strikingly relevant they are to CSR as a topic for international scholars today.

Icosahedral quasicrystals display irregular shape if it is embedded in bulk material. If it has free surface, it has well-defined facets, reflecting its unique 5-, 3-, and 2-fold rotational symmetries. In this study, an Al-Cu-Fe alloy with nominal composition of Al65Cu20Fe15 was prepared by arc melting and the microstructure was studied by using Scanning Electron Microscope, Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy, and Electron Back Scattering Diffraction (EBSD). On the surface of λ crystalline phase, an extra layer is found. EBSD from this layer revealed 5-, 3-, and 2-fold rotational symmetries, demonstrating the icosahedral quasicrystalline structure. Further, it has been found that the icosahedral quasicrystalline extra layer and the λ substrate have orientation relationship revealed by the coincidences of Kikuchi bands and poles on the EBSD patterns. This report is important to future studies regarding the formation of icosahedral quasicrystalline phase and thin film preparation related to icosahedral quasicrystalline phase.

OBJECTIVE: To verify the action of non-pharmacological interventions, whole body vibration exercise (WBVE) and auriculotherapy (AT) on the management of knee osteoarthritis (KOA) analyzing the handgrip strength (HS). METHODS: One hundred twelve participants with KOA were allocated in (a) WBVE group with peak-to-peak displacement of 2.5 to 7.5 mm, frequency from 5 up to 14 Hz, acceleration peak from 0.12 up to 2.95 g (2 d/weekly for 5 weeks),(b) AT group, points of both ears (Kidney, Knee-correspondent point and Shenmen) were stimulated with seeds,(c) WBVE + AT group and (d) respective control groups. HS was assessed in all the participants, in acute and cumulative responses. RESULTS: The intervention with WBVE alone and combined with AT improved (P < 0.05), in a cumulative response, the HS. CONCLUSION: WBVE alone or combined with AT might promote biological effects that interfere with the HS in individuals with KOA.
