A new database of building-space-specific internal loads and load schedules for performance based code compliance modeling of commercial buildings

Building-level loads and load schedules prescribed by current modeling rules save modelers time and provide standards during whole building performance ***,recent studies show that they sometimes insufficiently capture the entire building performance due to the varied loads and load schedules for different space *** a solution to this issue,this paper presents a database of default building-space-specific loads and load schedules for use in energy modeling,and in particular code compliance modeling for commercial *** existing sets of default loads and load schedules are reviewed and the challenges behind using them for specific research topics are ***,the proposed method to develop the building-space-specific loads and load schedules is *** that,the database for these building-space-specific loads and load schedules is *** addition,one case is studied to demonstrate the applications of these loads and load *** this case study,three methods are used to develop building energy models:space-specific(using knowledge of the distribution and location of space types and applying the space-specific data in the developed database),building-level(assuming a lack of knowledge of the space types and using the building-level data in the developed database),and calculated-ratio(assuming knowledge of the distribution of space types but not their locations and calculating weighted average values based on the space-specific data in the developed database).The energy results simulated by using these three methods are compared,which shows building-level methods can produce significantly different absolute energy and energy savings results than the results using space-specific ***,this paper discusses the application scope and maintenance of this new database.

Coordination complex of a copper cyanurate(Cu(Ⅱ)-CA) was transformed into coordination polymers upon the stimulus of extra Cu(Ⅱ) through “directed Ostwald ripening”. By increasing the molar ratio of Cu(Ⅱ) to CA, we obtained two coordination polymers with selective coordination sites: Cu(Ⅱ)-κ N(HCA)κ NCu(Ⅱ) and Cu(Ⅱ)-κ N(HCA)κ O-Cu(Ⅱ), which display disparate magnetic interactions.

The prevalence of diabetes mellitus and its associated complications,particularly diabetic foot pathologies,poses significant healthcare challenges and economic burdens *** review synthesises current evidence on the surgical management of the diabetic foot,focusing on the interplay between neuropathy,ischemia,and infection that commonly culminates in ulcers,infections,and,in severe cases,*** escalating incidence of diabetes mellitus underscores the urgency for effective management strategies,as diabetic foot complications are a leading cause of hospital admissions among diabetic patients,significantly impacting morbidity and mortality *** review explores the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying diabetic foot complications and further examines diabetic foot ulcers,infections,and skeletal pathologies such as Charcot arthropathy,emphasising the critical role of early diagnosis,comprehensive management strategies,and interdisciplinary care in mitigating adverse *** addressing surgical interventions,this review evaluates conservative surgeries,amputations,and reconstructive procedures,highlighting the importance of tailored approaches based on individual patient profiles and the specific characteristics of foot *** integration of advanced diagnostic tools,novel surgical techniques,and postoperative care,including offloading and infection control,are discussed in the context of optimising healing and preserving limb function.

In this work,competition between different supramolecular interactions is investigated based on a fibrous crystal composed of hydrogen-bonded cyanuric acid(CA)and amidinothiourea(ADT).Melamine(M)is found to prevail over ADT and bond to CA due to its stronger triple H-bonding affiliation,forming hollow microtubes assembled by oriented CAM crystalline arrays,as guided by the directionality of peripheral hydrogen ***,competitive interaction between hydrogen bonding and ionic/covalent bonding is demonstrated by mixing Ag+ions with the CA-ADT fibers,where sulfur atoms are abstracted from ADT molecules to produce Ag_(2)S *** in situ-formed Ag_(2)S serves as a binding glue to generate CA-ADT/Ag_(2)S composites with significantly enhanced mechanical strength compared to the pristine CA-ADT fiber pellet.

Individuals with NGLY1 Deficiency, an inherited autosomal recessive disorder, exhibit hyperkinetic movements including athetoid, myoclonic, dysmetric, and dystonic movements impacting both upper and lower limb motion. This report provides the first set of laboratory-based measures characterizing the gait patterns of two individuals with NGLY1 Deficiency, using both linear and non-linear measures, during treadmill walking, and compares them to neurotypical controls. Lower limb kinematics were obtained with a camera-based motion analysis system and bilateral time normalized lower limb joint time series waveforms were developed. Linear measures of joint range of motion, stride times and peak angular velocity were obtained, and confidence intervals were used to determine if there were differences between the patients and control. Correlations between participant and control mean joint waveforms were calculated and used to evaluate the similarities between patients and controls. Non-linear measures included: joint angle-angle diagrams, phase-portrait areas, and continuous relative phase (CRP) measures. These measures were used to assess joint coordination and control features of the lower limb motion. Participants displayed high correlations with their control counterparts for the hip and knee joint waveforms, but joint motion was restricted. Peak angular velocities were also significantly less than those of the controls. Both angle-angle and phase-portrait areas were less than the controls although the general shapes of those diagrams were similar to those of the controls. The NGLY1 Deficient participants’ CRP measures displayed disrupted coordination patterns with the knee-ankle patterns displaying more disruption than the hip-knee measures. Overall, the participants displayed a functional walking pattern that differed in many quantitative ways from those of the neurotypical controls. Quantifying Kinematic Tremor in an NGLY1-Deficient Individual: A Case Study

NGLY1 Deficiency is an autosomal recessive congenital disorder that has been identified in less than 100 individuals. Most individuals with NGLY1 Deficiency display hyperkinetic movement disorders, including choreiform, athetoid, dystonic myoclonic, dyskinetic, and dysmetric movements. Developing a consistent and concise consensus on the classification and evaluation of tremors is essential to forward the research and treatment of tremors. It has also been reported that some individuals with NGLY1 Deficiency demonstrate tremor, but such tremor has never been formally investigated. The primary objective of this study is to determine if an individual with NGLY1 Deficiency demonstrates an identifiable tremor during a series of arm movements and, if so, describe the frequency and power characteristics of that tremor. Arm movement kinematics were obtained using a 16-camera Vicon system, and time series trajectory waveforms for three planes of a marker placed on the hand were developed. Custom MATLAB scripts were utilized to compute Fast Fourier Transformations of the data within the identified waveform segments. A mean frequency of 2.30 Hz (SD = 1.05) with a mean power of 5.02 |P1(f)| (SD = 4.63) suggests that our participant’s kinematic data did display a persistent tremor in both hands across all tasks and movement planes. Analyses of the reaching hand and the non-reaching hand suggest the participant displayed an action tremor in both postural and intention (kinetic) tremors. Future directions should include assessing additional individuals with NGLY1 Deficiency to determine if the tremor is a distinguishable disorder behavior. Additionally, evaluating other anatomical sites, such as the elbow, head, and lower limbs, would provide further insights into the characteristics of this tremor.
