With the increased penetration of non-conventionalrenewable energy resources, such as wind power plants (WPPs),into the power system, a lot of interest has been placed on studyingtheir impact for system protection, planning and operationsto ensure continued reliability of the electric grid. The impactof WPPs on the grid is typically identified during generationinterconnection studies. One of the challenges faced by protectionand planning engineers, at an early stage in this process, isthat many of the studies involving these power plants must beperformed without specific data available because the equipmentis not built yet. Among all the needed data, a particular interest inthis study is placed on the positive- and zero-sequence impedancesof the main power transformer (MPT) that interconnects a windpower plant to the transmission system due to its contribution toshort-circuit current during ground faults. The most commonlyfound in practice MPT winding configurations is a high-voltagewinding in wye with neutral bushing;a low-voltage windingin wye with neutral bushing without phase shift between thesewindings, and a stabilizing tertiary winding connected in deltathat is not designed for external loading designated as YNyn0+***, this paper proposes a methodology to estimate the sequenceimpedances of YNyn0+d transformers from a statistical point ofview applying clustering and regression analyses on existing MPTtest report data.

In the development and regeneration of the nervous system, neurons face the complex task of establishing and/or repairing neuronal connections and contacts. The formation of these neuronal circuits is largely coordinated by tightly regulated temporal and spatial changes in mRNA translation, which enables incredibly precise control over protein expression and localization (Jung and Holt, 2011). Local mRNA translation in specific cellular compartments appears to play a role in many processes that are important to nervous system development and regeneration, including: cell survival, migration, growth cone guidance, and synaptogenesis (Jung and Holt, 2011).

We have adapted and characterized electrolysis reactors to complement the conversion of regional- and community-scale quantities of waste into fuel or chemicals, The overall process must he able to contend with a wide range of feedstocks, must he inherently safe, and should not rely on external facilities for co-reactants or heat rejection and supply, Our current approach is based on the upgrading of hio-oil produced by the hydrothermal liquefaction （HTL） of carbon-containing waste feedstocks, HTL can convert a variety of feedstocks into a bio-oil that requires much less upgrading than the products of other ways of deconstructing hiomass, We are now investigating the use of electrochemical processes for the further conversions needed to transform the hio-oil from HTL into fuel or higher value chemicals, We, and others, have shown that electrochemical reduction can offer adequate reaction rates and at least some of the nec- essary generality, In addition, an electrochemical reactor necessarily both oxidizes （removes electrons） on one side of the reactor and reduces （adds electrons） on the other side, Therefore, the two types of reac- tions could, in principle, he coupled to upgrade the hio-oil and simultaneously polish the water that is employed as a reactant and a carrier in the upstream HTL, Here, we overview a notional process, the possible conversion chemistry, and the economics of an HTL-electrochemical process,

Chalcogenide phase change materials(PCMs)have been extensively applied in data storage,and they are now being proposed for high resolution displays,holographic displays,reprogrammable photonics,and all-optical neural *** wide-ranging applications all exploit the radical property contrast between the PCMs’different structural phases,extremely fast switching speed,long-term stability,and low energy *** PCM photonic devices requires an accurate model to predict the response of the device during phase ***,we describe an approach that accurately predicts the microstructure and optical response of phase change materials during laser induced *** framework couples the Gillespie Cellular Automata approach for modelling phase transitions with effective medium theory and Fresnel *** accuracy of the approach is verified by comparing the PCM’s optical response and microstructure evolution with the results of nanosecond laser switching *** anticipate that this approach to simulating the switching response of PCMs will become an important component for designing and simulating programmable photonics *** method is particularly important for predicting the multi-level optical response of PCMs,which is important for all-optical neural networks and PCM-programmable perceptrons.

Although plasma cell infiltration is not rare in autopsy of patients with multiple myeloma （MM）, it is very rarely detected in living patients. This is because MM rarely causes significant liver dysfunction that requires further evaluation. A 49-year-old man presented with acute renal failure and was diagnosed with kappa light chain MM stageⅡB. Thalidomide and dexamethasone were initiated. The patient developed a continuous increase in bilirubin that led to severe cholestasis. A liver biopsy revealed plasma cell infiltration. He then rapidly progressed to liver failure and died. Treatment options are limited in MM with significant liver dysfunction. Despite new drug therapies in MM, those patients with rapidly progressive liver failure appear to have a dismal outcome.

Western thought since the enlightenment has been predominantly linear in scope, while eastern philosophy has focused mostly on the cyclical. Recent advances in complex systems, however, have highlighted the importance of cycles in nature, thereby opening an avenue for new common endeavors. This analysis centers on the role of autocatalytic loops and addresses the evolutionary relationship between competition and cooperation. It posits an evolutionary chain running from individual competition, to individual cooperation, to collective competition, to deep cooperation. We identify the centripetality that is consequent to autocatalysis and define three types of centrifugalities. Development is defined in the context of the tension between these opposing directions. Finally, we propose an evolutionary process consisting of four stages:(i) autognosis,(ii) autocatalytic loop formation,(iii) self-control and(iv) self-realization(sensu Taoism). The developmental narrative promises to become a useful tool for facilitating communication between eastern and Western cultures.
