Studies of populations of the multimammate rat Mastomys natalensis in Morogoro, Tanzania, show that soil textureappears to influence the population abundance and distribution of these rats in agricultural fields. The lowest rodentpopulation abundance was found on sandy clay soils (F(2, 5) = 8.42;P = 0.025). The population abundances of *** on sandy clay loam and sandy loam soils did not differ significantly (P ≤ 0.05), possibly because thesesoils have a very similar texture. The results of this study suggest that M. natalensis prefers loam-textured soilswith a high percentage of sand, which are probably better than clay soils for burrowing and nesting, particularly inthe rainy season. The lower preference for clay soils is probably related to the poor aeration in these soils and thewaterlogging that occurs during the wet season.

Myocardial perfusion imaging(MPI),which uses single-photon emission computed tomography(SPECT),is a well-known estimating tool for medical diagnosis,employing the classification of images to show situations in coronary artery disease(CAD).The automatic classification of SPECT images for different techniques has achieved near-optimal accuracy when using convolutional neural networks(CNNs).This paper uses a SPECT classification framework with three steps:1)Image denoising,2)Attenuation correction,and 3)Image *** denoising is done by a u-Net architecture that ensures effective image *** correction is implemented by a convolution neural network model that can remove the attenuation that affects the feature extraction process of ***,a novel multi-scale diluted convolution(MSDC)network is *** merges the features extracted in different scales and makes the model learn the features more *** scales of filters with size 3×3 are used to extract *** three steps are compared with state-of-the-art *** proposed denoising architecture ensures a high-quality image with the highest peak signal-to-noise ratio(PSNR)value of *** proposed classification method is compared with the five different CNN models,and the proposed method ensures better classification with an accuracy of 96%,precision of 87%,sensitivity of 87%,specificity of 89%,and F1-score of 87%.To demonstrate the importance of preprocessing,the classification model was analyzed without denoising and attenuation correction.

The adoption of a stakeholder approach to public engagement within the public sector has been extensive. However, there remain critical gaps in the understanding of stakeholder participation arising from hidden disparities that contribute to unequal access to communication channels, information, and hence ultimately knowledge and decision making. The term “epistemic injustice” has been used to describe such inequality of access and consequently, the outcome that ensues. Epistemic injustice is much overlooked in stakeholder theory. This article shows how epistemic injustice can act as a barrier to effective stakeholder engagement and hence to successful public policy formulation and implementation. We use the case of vaccine hesitancy among Scotland's African, Caribbean, and Black(ACB) communities to illustrate this problem of unequal participation. The study drew on primary data involving 85 participants and secondary data sources from extant literature and explored salient factors shaping barriers to vaccine uptake during the recent pandemic. The findings demonstrate how the failure to grasp epistemic injustice undermines the effectiveness of the stakeholder approach, even with the most wellintentioned efforts. We argue that epistemic injustice is a critical barrier to effective stakeholder approaches.

Exercise has emerged as fundamental therapeutic medicine in the management of *** improves health-related outcomes,including quality of life,neuromuscular strength,physical function,and body composition,and it is associated with a lower risk of disease recurrence and increased ***,exercise during or post cancer treatments is safe,can ameliorate treatment-related side effects,and may enhance the effectiveness of chemotherapy and radiation *** date,traditional resistance training(RT)is the most used RT modality in exercise ***,alternative training modes,such as eccentric,cluster set,and blood flow restriction are gaining increased *** training modalities have been extensively investigated in both athletic and clinical populations(e.g.,age-related frailty,cardiovascular disease,type 2 diabetes),showing considerable benefits in terms of neuromuscular strength,hypertrophy,body composition,and physical ***,these training modes have only been partially or not at all investigated in cancer ***,this study outlines the benefits of these alternative RT methods in patients with *** evidence in cancer populations is sparse,we provide a robust rationale for the possible implementation of certain RT methods that have shown positive results in other clinical ***,we provide clinical insights for research that may guide future RT investigations in patients with cancer and suggest clear practical applications for targeted cancer populations and related benefits.

Cancer is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide,and the incidence is increasing,highlighting the need for effective strategies to treat this *** has emerged as fundamental therapeutic medicine in the management of cancer,associated with a lower risk of recur-rence and increased *** avenues of research demonstrate reduction in growth,proliferation,and increased apoptosis of cancer cells,including breast,prostate,colorectal,and lung cancer,when cultured by serum collected after exercise in vitro(i.e.,the cultivation of cancer cell lines in an experimental setting,which simpliﬁes the biological system and provides mechanistic insight into cell responses).The underlying mechanisms of exercise-induced cancer suppressive effects may be attributed to the alteration in circulating factors,such as skeletal muscle-induced cytokines(i.e.,myokines)and ***,exercise-induced tumor suppressive effects and detailed information about training interventions are not well investigated,constraining more precise application of exercise medicine within clinical *** date,it remains unclear what role different training modes(i.e.,resistance and aerobic training)as well as volume and intensity have on exercise-condi-tioned serum and its effects on cancer ***,the available evidence is that a single bout of aerobic training at moderate to vigorous intensity has cancer suppressive effects,while for chronic training interventions,exercise volume appears to be an inﬂuential candidate driving cancer inhibitory effects regardless of training *** for future research investigating training modes,volume and intensity are provided to further our understanding of the effects of exercise-conditioned serum on cancer cells.

Anastomotic disruption is a feared and serious complication of colon surgery. Decades of research have identified factors favoring successful healing of anastomoses as well as risk factors for anastomotic disruption. However, some factors, such as the role of mechanical bowel preparation, remain controversial. Despite proper caution and excellent surgical technique, some anastomotic leaks are inevitable. The rapid identification of anastomotic leaks and the timely treatment in these cases are paramount.

Aims understanding the role of genetics in biological invasions has become an important aspect for modern plant *** studies suggest that increased ploidy level benefits the success of an invasive species,but the basis for this phenomenon is not fully *** its native,North American range,Solidago gigantea has three geo-cytotypes comprising di-,tetra-and hexa-ploid populations,while in Europe,where it is highly invasive,*** stands are composed primarily of tetraploid *** study investigates whether North American hexaploids can induce a greater risk of invasion,due to their higher perfor-mance in a non-native range,as compared to the existing tetra-ploids of that *** We performed greenhouse and common garden experiments along with microsatellite analyses to test whether differences in chromo-some number and origin of the species mean superior fitness in the introduced *** Findings Genetic diversity was significantly higher in the native hexaploid popula-tions(A_(R)=6.04;H_(e)=0.7794),rather than the non-native tetraploid pop-ulations(A_(R)=4.83;H_(e)=0.6869).Furthermore,differentiation between geo-cytotypes was moderate(ρST=0.1838),which was also confirmed by their clear segregation in principal component analysis and structure analyses,proving their different genetic *** contrast to genetic diversity,the non-native tetraploid geo-cytotype performed better in the common garden experiment,implying that higher genetic diversity does not always mean better *** results suggest that native hexa-ploids do not present a greater risk,as assessed by their performance in the introduced range,when compared to the non-native tetraploids,as was suggested by previous ***,their introduction is still undesirable due to their different genetic structure,which,through hybridization,could give a new drive to the invasion of ***.

Rare earth(Ⅲ)diphenyl-4-amine sulfonates(RE(DAS)3·xH2O,RE=Eu^3+,Tb^3+)phosphors were synthesized by precursor method from barium diphenyl-4-amine sulfonate and rare earth ***,TG/DSC coupled to mass spectrometry(TG/DSC/MS),X-ray powder diffraction(XPD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and photo luminesce nce(PL)spectroscopy were utilized to structurally and morphologically characterize the *** decomposition of Eu(DAS)3·7H2O and Tb(DAS)3·2H2O at 973 K under dynamic air atmosphere results in crystalline Eu2O2SO4 and Tb2O2SO4 materials,***,MS spectra reveal the liberation of thermal decomposition products of precursors,largely as CO2,NO2 and SO2 *** diphenyl-4-amine sulfonate(DAS)ligand demonstrats a good stabilizing property for Eu^3+and Tb^3+*** Eu(DAS)3·7H2O and Tb(DAS)3·2H2O compounds display efficient red and green emissions,under uV excitation,arising from the 5D0→7FJ(J=0-4)and 5D4→7FJ(J=0-6)transitions of the Eu^3+and Tb^3+ions,respectively.
