We present a molecular phylogenetic study of the lichen genus Sticta focusing on Colombia,using the ITS fungal barcoding gene for a total of 370 ingroup OTUs,with 322 newly generated *** topology resulting from a maximum likelihood approach does not support current species concepts in Sticta,which use a morphological concept,but in contrast shows that similar morphodemes evolved multiple times independently within the *** a consequence,currently applied names such as *** and *** comprise numerous(up to more than 20)unrelated species-level lineages,which can be distinguished also phenotypically using previously unrecognized characters such as lobe configuration,lobe surface structure,tomentum type,and anatomy of the basal membrane of the *** conclude that the genus Sticta contains about four to five times the number of species currently *** Colombia alone,approximately 150 species of Sticta are present.

Computational fluid dynamics （CFD） modeling of the complex processes that occur within the burner of a gas turbine engine has become a critical step in the design process. However, due to computer limitations, it is very difficult to completely couple the fluid mechanics solver with the full combustion chemistry. Therefore, simplified chemistry models are required, and the topic of this research was to provide reduced chemistry models for CH4/O2 gas turbine flow fields to be integrated into CFD codes for the simulation of flow fields of natural gas-fueled burners. The reduction procedure for the CH4/O2 model utilized a response modeling technique wherein the full mechanism was solved over a range of temperatures, pressures, and mixture ratios to establish the response of a particular variable, namely the chemical reaction time. The conditions covered were between 1000 and 2500 K for temperature, 0.1 and 2 for equivalence ratio in air, and 0.1 and 50 atm for pressure. The kinetic time models in the form of ignition time correlations are given in Arrhenius-type formulas as functions of equivalence ratio, temperature, and pressure; or fuel-to-air ratio, temperature, and pressure. A single ignition time model was obtained for the entire range of conditions, and separate models for the low-temperature and high-temperature regions as well as for fuel-lean and rich cases were also derived. Predictions using the reduced model were verified using results from the full mechanism and empirical correlations from experiments. The models are intended for （but not limited to） use in CFD codes for flow field simulations of gas turbine combustors in which initial conditions and degree of mixedness of the fuel and air are key factors in achieving stable and robust combustion processes and acceptable emission levels. We present a revised molecular phylogeny of higher Basidiomycota focusing on lepidostromataceae based on the large subunit(28S)of the nuclear ribosomal rDNA(nulSU),with additionl data from the translation elongation factor 1 alpha 1(TEF1)and the RNA polymerase II second largest subunit(RPB2)*** results suggest that lepidostromataceae is best recognized in a separate order,lepidostromatales ordo novum,within subclass ***,the internal topology of lepidostromataceae,correlating with thallus features,indicates that three genera,instead of a single genus,should be *** therefore introduce the genera Ertzia genus novum and Sulzbacheromyces genus novum for lepidostroma akagerae and ***,*** addition,the new species *** *** is described for Mexican material previously identified as *** photobionts of Sulzbacheromyces and lepidostroma were identified using molecular data of the large subunit of the ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase(rbcl)gene,revealing a possibly undescribed genus in Trebouxiophyceae and the first report of lichenization for the genus Bracteacoccus in Chlorophyceae.

Southern India and Sri-lanka are the places where “incipient charnockites”,*** local transformation of amphibolite-facies gneisses into orthopyroxene-bearing,igneous looking charnockites,have been discovered in the early *** fact that some incipient charnockites occur along a network of brittle fractures,together with CO2 remnants preserved in mineral inclusions,had called for the role of fluids during charnockite *** present work presents new observations on fluid inclusions and microtextures of incipient charnockites from type localities in southern *** addition to CO2-rich fluid inclusions in quartz and feldspar,all of the occurrences have disrupted remnants of concentrated aqueous alkali chloride ***2 inclusions are more abundant in paragneiss (Kerala) than in orthogneiss (Karnataka/Tamil Nadu).The finding of disrupted brine inclusions in the Kabbal charnockite is a key link between closely associated massive charnockites and Closepet Granite,both of which also share the brine *** of the occurrences studied here have feldspar or feldspar-quartz microvein networks along grain boundaries of recrystallized quartz,feldspar and *** metasomatic veins again indicate the action of alkali-exchanging fluids (i.e.,saline solutions).Feldspar microveins,which have been found in most “massive” charnockites,along with the CO2-rich fluid inclusions,suggest a commonality of incipient charnockite and massive charnockite,both types differing in intensity of interaction with metasomatizing pore fluids.

To determine the effect of combined serelaxin and rosiglitazone treatment on established hepatic *** fibrosis was induced in mice by carbon tetrachloride administration for 6 wk, or vehicle alone (nonfibrotic mice). For the final 2 wk, mice were treated with rosiglitazone, serelaxin, or both rosiglitazone and serelaxin. Serum liver enzymes and relaxin levels were determined by standard methods. The degree of liver collagen content was determined by histology and immunohistochemistry. Expression of type I collagen was determined by quantitative PCR. Activation of hepatic stellate cells was assessed by alpha-smooth muscle actin (SMA) levels. liver peroxisome proliferator activated receptor-gamma coactivator 1 alpha (PGC1α) was determined by Western *** of mice with CCl4 resulted in hepatic fibrosis as evidenced by increased liver enzyme levels (AlT and AST), and increased liver collagen and SMA. Monotherapy with either serelaxin or rosiglitazone for 2 wk was generally without effect. In contrast, the combination of serelaxin and rosiglitazone resulted in significantly improved AlT levels (P l liver collagen content as determined by Sirius red staining revealed that only combination treatment was effective in reducing total liver collagen (P lts were supported by immunohistochemistry for type I collagen, in which only combination treatment reduced fibrillar collagen levels (P level of hepatic stellate cell activation was modestly, but significantly, reduced by serelaxin treatment alone, but combination treatment resulted in significantly lower SMA levels. Finally, while hepatic fibrosis reduced liver PGC1α levels, the combination of serelaxin and rosiglitazone resulted in restoration of PGC1α protein *** combination of serelaxin and rosiglitazone treatment for 2 wk was effective in significantly reducing established hepatic fibrosis, providing a potential
