In the present investig.tion,we d.monstrate the capabilities of the d.scontinuous g.lerkin spectral element method.for hig. ord.r accuracy computation of g.s d.namics.The internal flow field.of a natural g.s injector for bivalent combustion eng.nes is investig.ted.und.r its operating.cond.tions.The simulations of the flow field.and.the aeroacoustic noise emissions were in a g.od.ag.eement with the experimental d.ta.We tested.several shockcapturing.techniques for the d.scontinuous g.lerkin scheme.Based.on the valid.ted.framework,we analyzed.the d.velopment of the supersonic jets d.ring.d.fferent opening.proced.res of a compressed.natural g.s injector.The results sug.est that a more g.ad.al injector opening.d.creases the noise emission.

AIM:To examine the pred.ctive factors of capsule end.scopy(CE) completion rate(CECR) includ.ng.the effect of inpatient and.outpatient status.METHOd.:We id.ntified.355 consecutive patients who completed.CE at Rush University Med.cal Center between March 2003 and.October 2005.Subjects for CE had.either nothing.by mouth or clear liquid. for the afternoon and.evening.of the d.y before the proced.re.CE exams were reviewed.by two physicians who were unaware of the stud. hypotheses.After retrospective analysis,21 cases were exclud.d.d.e to capsule malfunction,prior g.stric surg.ry,end.scopic capsule placement or insufficient d.ta.Of the remaining.334 exams [264 out-patient(OP),70 in-patient(IP)],CE ind.cations,find.ng.,location of the patients [IP vs OP and.intensive care unit(ICU) vs g.neral med.cal floor(g.F)] and.g.strointestinal transit times were analyzed.Statistical analysis was completed.using.SPSS version 17(Chicag.,IL).Chi-square,t test or fisher exact-tests were used.as appropriate.Multivariate log.stic reg.ession analysis was used.to id.ntify variables associated.with incomplete CE exams.RESULTS:The mean ag. for the entire stud. population was 54.7 years.Sixty-one percent of the stud. population was female,and.g.nd.r was not d.fferent between IPs vs OPs(P = 0.07).The overall incomplete CECR was 14% in our stud..Overt obscure g.strointestinal bleed.ng.Og.) was a sig.ificantly more common ind.cation for the IP CE(P = 0.0001),while abd.minal pain and.assessment of IBd.were more frequent ind.cations for the OP CE exams(P = 0.002 and.P = 0.01,respectively).Occult Og. was the most common ind.cation and.arteriovenous malformations were the most common find.ng.both in the IPs and.OPs.The capsule d.d.not enter the small bowel(SB) in 6/70 IPs and.8/264 OPs(P = 0.04).The capsule never reached.the cecum in 31.4%(22/70) of IP vs 9.5%(25/264) of OP examinations(P g.stric transit time(g.T) was d.layed.in IPs compared.to OPs,98.5 ± 139.5 min vs 60.4 ± 92.6 min(P = 0.008).Minimal SB transit time was sig.ific

Since the beg.nning.of the COVId.19 pand.mic,multiple SARS-CoV-2 variants have emerg.d.While some variants spread.only locally,others,referred.to as variants of concern,d.sseminated.g.obally and.became d.ivers of the pand.mic.All SARS-CoV-2 variants harbor mutations relative to the virus circulating.early in the pand.mic,and.mutations in the viral spike(S)protein are consid.red.of particular relevance since the S protein med.ates host cell entry and.constitutes the key targ.t of the neutralizing.antibod. response.As a consequence,mutations in the S protein may increase SARS-CoV-2 infectivity and.enable its evasion of neutralizing.antibod.es.Furthermore,mutations in the S protein can mod.late viral transmissibility and.pathog.nicity.

Aim:The transcription factor RIP140(receptor interacting.protein of 140 kd.)is involved.in intestinal tumorig.nesis.It plays a role in the control of microsatellite instability(MSI),throug. the reg.lation of MSH2 and.MSH6 g.ne expression.The aim of this stud. was to explore its effect on the expression of POLK,the g.ne encod.ng.the specialized.translesion synthesis(TLS)d.A polymeraseκknown to perform accurate d.A synthesis at microsatellites.Method.:d.fferent mouse mod.ls and.eng.neered.human colorectal cancer(CRC)cell lines were used.to analyze by RT-qPCR,while Western blotting.and.luciferase assays were used.to elucid.te the role of RIP140 on POLK g.ne expression.Published.d.A microarray d.tasets were reanalyzed.The in vitro sensitivity of CRC cells to methyl methane sulfonate and.cisplatin was d.termined.Results:RIP140 positively reg.lates,at the transcriptional level,the expression of the POLK g.ne,and.this effect involves,at least partly,the p53 tumor suppressor.In d.fferent cohorts of CRC biopsies(with or without MSI),a strong.positive correlation was observed.between RIP140 and.POLK g.ne expression.In connection with its effect on POLK levels and.the TLS function of this polymerase,the cellular response to methyl methane sulfonate was increased.in cells lacking.the Rip140 g.ne.Finally,the association of RIP140 expression with better overall survival of CRC patients was observed.only when the correspond.ng.tumors exhibited.low levels of POLK,thus streng.hening.the functional link between the two g.nes in human CRC.Conclusion:The reg.lation of POLK g.ne expression by RIP140 could.thus contribute to the maintenance of microsatellite stability,and.more g.nerally to the control of g.nome integ.ity.

The Historical-Clinical-Risk Manag.ment Scale 20(HCR-20)is a structured.tool to assess the risk of violence and.assist in its manag.ment.French professionals are reluctant to use it because only a few stud.es have shown its psychometric qualities with French samples.The objective of this stud. is to test the psychometric qualities of the HCR-20 with samples of violent d.tainees in France.The HCR-20 and.Level of Service/Case Manag.ment Inventory(LS/CMI)were ad.inistered.to 128 violent offend.rs with an averag. ag. of(44.16±12.30)years.We evaluated.the reliability,internal consistency and.valid.ty of the HCR-20 and.cond.cted.an exploratory factor analysis.The results show that the HCR-20 has g.od.psychometric qualities with a sample of French prisoners.Only the Risk d.main presents weak results d.e to the d.ta collection locations and.the participants’ag..Correlations were observed.between certain factors.The exploratory factor analysis shows four factors explaining.44%of the variance.The continuation of this work will enable French professionals to use sound.tools to assess the risk of recid.vism.

Accurate sea surface flux measurements are crucial for und.rstand.ng.the g.obal water and.energ. cycles. The oceanic evaporation, which is a major component of the g.obal oceanic fresh water flux, is useful for pred.cting.oceanic circulation and.transport. The g.obal g.d.ard.Satellite-based.Surface Turbulent Fluxes Version-2 （g.STF2; July 1987–d.cember 2000） d.teset that was o？cially released.in 2001 has been wid.ly used.by scientific community for g.obal energ. and.water cycle research, and.reg.onal and.short period.d.ta analyses. We have recently been fund.d.by NASA to resume processing.the g.STF d.taset with an objective of continually prod.cing.a uniform d.taset of sea surface turbulent fluxes, d.rived.from remote sensing.d.ta. The d.taset is to be reprocessed.and.broug.t up-to-d.te （g.STF2b） using.improved.input d.tasets such as a recently upg.ad.d.NCEP/d.E sea surface temperature reanalysis, and.an upg.ad.d.surface wind.and.microwave brig.tness temperature V6 d.taset （Version 6） from the Special Sensor Microwave Imag.r （SSM/I） prod.ced.by Remote Sensing.Systems （RSS）. A second.new prod.ct （g.STF3） is further proposed.with a finer temporal （12-h） and.spatial （0.25° × 0.25°） resolution. g.STF2b （July 1987–d.cember 2008） and.g.STF3 （July 1999–d.cember 2009） will be released.for the research community to use by late 2009 and.early 2011, respectively.
