Nano-engineering iii-nitride semiconductors offers a route to further control the optoelectronic properties,enabling novel functionalities and *** a variety of lithography techniques are currently employed to nanoengineer these materials,the scalability and cost of the fabrication process can be an obstacle for large-scale *** this paper,we report on the use of a fast,robust and flexible emerging patterning technique called Displacement Talbot lithography(DTL),to successfully nano-engineer iii-nitride ***,along with its novel and unique combination with a lateral planar displacement(D^(2)TL),allow the fabrication of a variety of periodic nanopatterns with a broad range of filling factors such as nanoholes,nanodots,nanorings and nanolines;all these features being achievable from one single *** illustrate the enormous possibilities opened by DTL/D2TL,dielectric and metal masks with a number of nanopatterns have been generated,allowing for the selective area growth of InGaN/GaN core-shell nanorods,the top-down plasma etching of iii-nitride nanostructures,the top-down sublimation of GaN nanostructures,the hybrid top-down/bottom-up growth of AlN nanorods and GaN nanotubes,and the fabrication of nanopatterned sapphire substrates for AlN *** with their planar counterparts,these 3D nanostructures enable the reduction or filtering of structural defects and/or the enhancement of the light extraction,therefore improving the efficiency of the final *** results,achieved on a wafer scale via DTL and upscalable to larger surfaces,have the potential to unlock the manufacturing of nano-engineered iii-nitride materials.

Effects of Ginkgo Biloba Special Extract EGb 761^(█) in Very Mild Cognitive Impairment(vMCI)

Objective: To assess effects of EGb 761? on cognition and quality of life in subjects with very mild cognitive impair-ment. Methods: We randomized 300 subjects aged 45 to 65 with cognitive complaints and low functioning (more than one standard deviation below appropriate norm) in at least one cognitive test to double-blind treatment with once daily 240 mg EGb 761? or placebo for 12 weeks. Results: The exploratory intention-to-treat analysis showed significant im-provement (p iii - Faces I, Appointments Test – delayed recall), and perceived physical health (SF36 - factor score Physical Health). Cognitive effects were more pronounced and more consistent (p < 0.025 in 4 of 5 tests) in subjects with lower memory function at baseline. Specifically, practice effects in the more demanding tests were attenuated or absent in these sub-jects. Conclusion: Ginkgo biloba extract EGb 761? improved cognitive functioning and aspects of quality of life in sub-jects with very mild cognitive impairment.

【目的】评价豌豆属(Pisum L.)2个种5个亚种下,共8个资源类群的遗传多样性水平,揭示豌豆属下资源群体结构及其遗传关系远近,验证传统植物学分类的可靠程度,为充分发掘、利用豌豆野生种质提供必要信息。【方法】利用21对豌豆多态性SSR引物,对来自世界5大洲62个国家的豌豆属94份栽培种质(*** *** ***)及其1个近缘野生种(***),3个野生亚种(*** ***、*** ***、*** ***)和3个野生变种(*** *** ***、*** *** ***、*** ***)的103份野生种质进行SSR标记遗传多样性分析;利用NTSYSpc2.2d软件估算其遗传距离,进行主成分分析(PCA)并绘制三维空间聚类图;利用Popgene V1.32估算种质群间的Nei78遗传距离等参数并进行UPGMA聚类分析,采用MEGA3.1绘制种质群间聚类图;采用Popgene V1.32估算种质群的等位位点分布等参数,利用Fstat V2.***.3.2进行种质群间遗传多样性差异显著性测验。【结果】21对豌豆多态性SSR引物共扩增出104条多态性带,每对引物平均扩增出4.95个等位变异,其中有效等位变异占65.56%;PSAD270,PSAC58,PSAA18,PSAC75,PSAA175和PSAB72等SSR引物最为有效。SSR等位变异在豌豆属植物学分类单位中分布均匀,但分类单位种质群间的遗传多样性在多数情况下差异显著。豌豆属野生种***的遗传多样性远低于栽培种***;豌豆栽培种下,*** *** ***和*** ***的遗传多样性最高,*** *** ***和*** ***次之,*** *** ***、*** *** ***和***最低。PCA分析发现,豌豆属种质资源由4个差异明显的基因库构成。"fulvum"基因库主要由野生种Pisum fulvum资源构成,"abyssinicum"基因库主要由栽培种下的*** ***亚种资源构成,"arvense"基因库主要由栽培种下的*** ***变种资源构成;"sativum"基因库由*** ***、*** *** ***、*** ***、*** *** ***和*** *** ***资源构成。"sativum"基因库构成豌豆栽培资源初级基因库;"fulvum"、"abyssinicum"和"arvense"基因库共同构成豌豆栽培资源次级基因库。植物学分类单位间的Nei78遗传距离介于7.531～35.956,UPGMA聚类方法将豌豆属植物学分类单位聚成3个组群,"组群I"对应"sativum"和"arvense"基因库之和,"组群II"对应"abyssinicum"基因库,"组群iii"对应"fulvum"基因库,聚类结果支持4个基因库的划分。【结论】豌豆属下多数植物学分类单位间遗传多样性差异显著,并分化成4个基因库。研究结果部分支持豌豆属下传统的植物学分类体系,并指出了其合理与不足之处。为拓宽豌豆育成品种的遗传基础,应充分发掘豌豆属下各基因库的遗传潜力。

研究肝素酶 (来源于 Flavobacterum heparinase,EC4 .2 .2 .7)对人工合成的且含有与抗凝血酶特定结合位点的肝素五糖 (SHP)的酶解作用 ,并对酶解作用的动力学进行研究。利用强阴离子高效液相色谱 (SAX- HPL C)对酶解混合物进行分离 ,利用质谱 (ESIMS)和核磁共振波谱 (1H- NMR)技术对得到的二糖和三糖的结构进行确证。研究结果表明 ,这种被作为肝素反向试剂的肝素酶可水解人工所合成的肝素五糖 ,从而使之丧失抗 Xa因子活性。

Materials Design on the Origin of Gap States in a High-κ/GaAs Interface

Given the demand for constantly scaling micro- electronic devices to ever smaller dimensions, a SiO2 gate dielectric was substituted with a higher dielectric-constant material, Hf（Zr）O2, in order to minimize current leakage through dielectric thin film. However, upon interfacing with high dielectric constant （high-κ） dielectrics, the electron mobility in the conventional Si channel degrades due to Coulomb scattering, surface-roughness scattering, remotephonon scattering, and dielectric-charge trapping.Ⅲ-Ⅴ and Ge are two promising candidates with superior mobility over Si. Nevertheless, Hf（Zr）O2/Ⅲ-Ⅴ（Ge） has much more complicated interface bonding than Si-based interfaces. Successful fabrication of a high-quality device critically depends on understanding and engineering the bonding configurations at Hf（Zr）O2/Ⅲ-Ⅴ（Ge） interfaces for the optimal design of device interfaces. Thus, an accurate atomic insight into the interface bonding and mechanism of interface gap states formation becomes essential. Here, we utilize first- principle calculations to investigate the interface between HfO2 and GaAs. Our study shows that As--As dimer bonding, Ga partial oxidation （between 3＋ and 1＋） and Ga- dangling bonds constitute the major contributions to gap states. These findings provide insightful guidance for optimum interface passivation.

Proximal gastric response to small intestinal nutrients is abnormal in mechanically ventilated critically ill patients

AIM： To determine the response of the proxima stomach to small intestinal nutrients in critically ill patients. METHODS： Proximal gastric motility was measured in 13 critically ill patients （49.3 ± 4.7 years） and 12 healthy volunteers （27.7 ± 2.9 years） using a barostat technique. Recordings were performed at baseline, during a 60-rain intra-duodenal infusion of Ensure^R （2 kcal/min）, and for 2 h following the infusion. Minimum distending pressure （MDP）, intra-bag volume and fundic wave activity were determined. RESULTS： The MDP was higher in patients （11.7 ± 1.1 vs 7.8 ± 0.7 mmHg; P 〈 0.01）. Baseline intrabag volumes were similar in the 2 groups. In healthy subjects, a ‘bimodal＇ proximal gastric volume response was observed. In patients, the initial increase in proximal gastric volume was small and delayed, but eventually reached a maximal volume similar to that of healthy subjects. In healthy subjects, the proximal gastric volume rapidly returned to baseline level after nutrient infusion （median 18 min）. In contrast, the recovery of volume to baseline was delayed in critically ill patients （median 106 min）. In 6 patients, the volume had not returned to baseline level 2 hours after nutrient infusion. In patients, fundic volume waves were less frequent （P 〈 0.05） and had lower amplitude （P 〈 0.001）, compared to healthy subjects. CONCLUSION： In critical illness, proximal gastric motor responses to small intestinal nutrient stimulation are abnormal.

Can population genomics guide future therapeutic gene transfer strategies for Parkinson’s disease?

Medical and surgical therapies for patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD) are typically considered and initiated upon development of clinical signs, especially therapeutic gene transfer therapies. Early clinical trials delivering transgenes within the brains of PD patients have confirmed their safety and suggested mild to moderate efficacy. Confirmatory phase iii trials have yet to be undertaken with any of the current treatment regimens. During the development of PD gene therapy, mapping of the human genome was finalized and provides major insights into the normal and pathogenic genetic variabilities of populations. Genome wide association studies (GWAS) have expanded the genetic defects and risk factors accompanying clinical PD. Advanced genomic investigations may allow asymptomatic individuals with a high risk of developing PD, and evident presymptomatic nigrostriatal deficiencies, to consider early treatment approaches. Herein we propose that certain genomically and clinically defined PD patients may provide unique opportunities for testing neuronotrophic gene therapy in a pathobiological environment that is antecedent to overt motoric dysfunction. Such an approach may finally allow testing of the disease-altering capabilities of therapeutic gene transfer in PD.
