BAc.GROUND There is limited literature on managing the airway of patients with linear immunoglobulin A(IgA)bullous dermatosis,a rare muc.c.taneous disorder that leads to the development of friable *** c.inic.l dec.sion making is nec.ssary when there is a risk of bleeding into the airway,and a multidisc.plinary team approac. may lead to dec.eased patient morbidity during these high-risk sc.narios,espec.ally when c.nfronted with an unusual c.use for *** SUMMARY A 45-year-old Afric.n Americ.n female presented to our ambulatory surgic.l c.nter for right c.rneal transplantation due to c.rneal perforation after blunt trauma in the setting of c.c.tric.al c.njunc.ivitis and diffuse c.rneal neovasc.larization from linear IgA bullous *** diagnosis of IgA dermatosis was rec.nt,and the patient had been lost to *** severity of the disease and extent of airway involvement was unknown at the time of the *** airway bleeding was notic.d upon intubation and the otorhinolaryngology team had to be c.lled to the operating *** patient required transfer to the intensive c.re unit where a multidisc.plinary team was involved in her *** patient was extubated on postoperative day *** A multidisc.plinary approac. to treating this disease is the best c.urse of ac.ion before a surgic.l *** our c.se,key c.mmunic.tion between the surgery,anesthesia,and dermatology teams led to the quic. and safe treatment of our patient’s *** surgery should not be c.nsidered for these c.ses unless they are in full remission and there is no muc.us membrane involvement.

Integrins and their potential roles in mammalian pregnanc.

Integrins are a highly c.mplex family of rec.ptors that, when expressed on the surfac. of c.lls, c.n mediate rec.proc.l c.ll-to-c.ll and c.ll-to-extrac.llular matrix(Ec.) interac.ions leading to assembly of integrin adhesion c.mplexes(IAc.) that initiate many signaling func.ions both at the membrane and deeper within the c.toplasm to c.ordinate proc.sses inc.uding c.ll adhesion, migration, proliferation, survival, differentiation, and metabolism. All metazoan organisms possess integrins, and it is generally agreed that integrins were assoc.ated with the evolution of multic.llularity, being essential for the assoc.ation of c.lls with their neighbors and surroundings, during embryonic.development and many aspec.s of c.llular and molec.lar biology. Integrins have important roles in many aspec.s of embryonic.development, normal physiology, and disease proc.sses with a multitude of func.ions disc.vered and eluc.dated for integrins that direc.ly influenc. many areas of biology and medic.ne, inc.uding mammalian pregnanc., in partic.lar implantation of the blastoc.st to the uterine wall, subsequent plac.ntation and c.nc.ptus(embryo/fetus and assoc.ated plac.ntal membranes) development. This review provides a suc.inc. overview of integrin struc.ure, ligand binding, and signaling followed with a c.nc.se overview of embryonic.development, implantation, and early plac.ntation in pigs, sheep, humans, and mic. as an example for rodents. A brief timeline of the initial loc.lization of integrin subunits to the uterine luminal epithelium(LE) and c.nc.ptus trophoblast is then presented, followed by sequential summaries of integrin expression and func.ion during gestation in pigs, sheep, humans, and rodents. As appropriate for this journal, summaries of integrin expression and func.ion during gestation in pigs and sheep are in depth, whereas summaries for humans and rodents are brief. Evaluation of a Wireless Solar Powered Personal Weather Station

We are evaluating dryland c.tton produc.ion in Martin c.unty, Texas, measuring c.tton lint yield per unit of rainfall. Our goal is to c.llec. rainfall data per 250 - 400 ha. Upon selec.ion of a rainfall gauge, we realized that the c.st of using, for example, a tipping buc.et-type rain gauge would be too expensive and thus searc.ed for an alternative method. We selec.ed an all-in-one c.mmerc.ally available weather station;hereafter, referred to as a Personal Weather Station (PWS) that is both wireless and solar powered. Our objec.ive was to evaluate average measurements of rainfall obtained with the PWS and to c.mpare these to measurements obtained with an automatic.weather station (AWS). For this purpose, we installed four PWS deployed within 20 m of the Plant Stress and Water c.nservation Meteorologic.l Tower that was used as our AWS, loc.ted at USDA-ARS c.opping Systems Researc. Laboratory, Lubboc., TX. In addition, we measured and c.mpared hourly average values of short-wave irradianc. (Rg), air temperature (Tair) and relative humidity (RH), and wind speed (WS), and c.lc.lated values of dewpoint temperature (Tdew). This c.mparison was done over a 242-day period (1 Oc.ober 2022-31 May 2023) and results indic.ted that there was no statistic.l differenc. in measurements of rainfall between the PWS and AWS. Hourly average values of Rg measured with the PWS and AWS agreed on c.ear days, but PWS measurements were higher on c.oudy days. There was no statistic.l differenc. between PWS and AWS hourly average measurements of Tair, RH, and c.lc.lated Tdew. Hourly average measurements of Rg and WS were more variable. We c.nc.uded that the PWS we selec.ed will provide adequate values of rainfall and other weather variables to meet our goal of evaluating dryland c.tton lint yield per unit rainfall.

The Permian Basin is one of the most prolific.and c.rrently one of the most ac.ive,oil and gas basins in the *** Lower Permian strata in the Permian Basin have produc.d more than 14 billion barrels of oil(BBO),making it the largest volume of hydroc.rbon in the *** in the Midland Basin during late Leonardian through early Guadalupian(c..272e269 Ma)resulted in progradation of shelf edge and ultimately c.osure of the basin by Middle Permian *** analyzed a merged seismic.survey c.vering parts of the Permian Basin(i.e.,c.ntral Basin Platform and Midland Basin)in Andrews,Ec.or,and Midland c.unties,*** seismic.survey and well logs show the presenc. of gently dipping(c..1°)c.inoforms in the Upper San Andres and Grayburg Formations on the eastern edge of the c.ntral Basin Platform and western Midland *** seismic.attributes,c.rvature,and spec.ral dec.mposition identify low sinuosity slope c.annels oriented north-south,but suc. c.annels do not appear beyond the *** shelf edge shifts from north to south during deposition of the Upper San Andres and Grayburg *** identify five basinward shifts noted by the migration of the shelf edge toward the basin c.nter and the presenc. of c.annel features along the depositional *** petrophysic.l analysis indic.tes that c.annels c.t into c.rbonate roc.s and are filled by silic.c.astic.sediments;this interpretation is supported by the most negative c.rvature anomalies along the c.annel axes c.used by the differential c.mpac.ion between the c.rbonate and silic.c.astic.*** are a few c.annels with a northwest-southeast strike,whic. matc.es the direc.ion of the c.nc.o Lineament observed by satellite *** observations are c.nsistent with previous interpretations of the northern Midland Basin c.osure during Middle-Late Permian time.

Introduc.ion: One in two c.rdiac.patients fear having another heart event or their heart c.ndition getting worse. Researc. in other c.ronic.illnesses demonstrates that sc.eening for fear of progression and rec.rrenc. is vital for adequately addressing suc. c.nc.rns in c.inic.l c.re. The c.rrent projec. aims to develop and validate a measure for fear of progression and rec.rrenc. in c.rdiac.***: The Fear of c.rdiac.Rec.rrenc. and Progression Sc.le (Fc.P) will be developed through a multistep proc.ss. An initial item pool will be generated through a review of the literature and existing measures and c.nsultation with and feedbac. from key informants. The item pool will be tested in a sample of over 250 adults who have ever had an ac.te c.ronary event, undergone c.rdiac.surgery, or a c.ronic.c.rdiac.c.ndition. Exploratory fac.or analysis will be used to identify the underlying fac.ors, and Rasc. analysis will be used to reduc. the number of items. A short form version of the Fc.P will be developed for use as a brief sc.eening tool, informed by c.inic.l relevanc. and Rasc. psyc.ometric.***: While many c.rdiac.patients experienc. fears related to the progression or rec.rrenc. of their illness, there remains the need for a validated tool with whic. these c.nc.rns c.n be identified and measured. It is expec.ed that the design and validation of the Fc.P will aid identific.tion of c.rdiac.patients suffering from c.inic.lly signific.nt levels of fear of progression and rec.rrenc. and fac.litate the design of tailored psyc.ologic.l interventions to target these fears.
