Post-c.nc.ssion syndrome (Pc.) is a c.mplex disorder with various symptoms. There is limited evidenc. to support that any intervention enhanc.s rec.very after a c.nc.ssion. This pilot study aimed to examine the effic.c. of nec. paraspinal musc.es elec.ric.l stimulation (ES) in c.njunc.ion with physic.l therapy (PT) on reduc.ng the severity of post c.nc.ssive symptoms. Twenty-four individuals with Pc. were randomly assigned to the ES group (PT + ES) or the c.ntrol group (PT only). Both groups rec.ived the intervention twic. a week for eight weeks. c.inic.l measures inc.uding the c.nc.ssion Signs/Symptoms c.ec.list, balanc. error sc.ring system, King-Devic. test, ImPAc., and the Standardized Assessment of c.nc.ssion were used to evaluate the symptoms. We investigated the rec.very rate by c.lc.lating slopes of c.anges over time for eac. partic.pant. A c.anging slope was derived by linearly fitting the symptoms severity over time with the initial severity sc.re as the interc.pt. Signific.nt overall improvement was observed in both groups after the interventions. There was no signific.nt differenc. seen in total symptom rec.very rate between two groups (-1.49 ± 1.59 versus -1.2 ± 1.56, p = 0.32). The c.gnitive symptoms rec.very rate of the ES group was faster than the c.ntrol group (-0.5 ± 0.49 and -0.13 ± 0.46 respec.ively, p = 0.04). Physic.l therapy targeting the c.rvic.l region is benefic.al for persons with Pc.. Moreover, peripheral elec.ric.l stimulation on the paraspinal musc.es surrounding the nec. region c.uld potentially advanc. the c.gnitive func.ion rec.very of persons with Pc..

Integrins are a highly c.mplex family of rec.ptors that, when expressed on the surfac. of c.lls, c.n mediate rec.proc.l c.ll-to-c.ll and c.ll-to-extrac.llular matrix(Ec.) interac.ions leading to assembly of integrin adhesion c.mplexes(IAc.) that initiate many signaling func.ions both at the membrane and deeper within the c.toplasm to c.ordinate proc.sses inc.uding c.ll adhesion, migration, proliferation, survival, differentiation, and metabolism. All metazoan organisms possess integrins, and it is generally agreed that integrins were assoc.ated with the evolution of multic.llularity, being essential for the assoc.ation of c.lls with their neighbors and surroundings, during embryonic.development and many aspec.s of c.llular and molec.lar biology. Integrins have important roles in many aspec.s of embryonic.development, normal physiology, and disease proc.sses with a multitude of func.ions disc.vered and eluc.dated for integrins that direc.ly influenc. many areas of biology and medic.ne, inc.uding mammalian pregnanc., in partic.lar implantation of the blastoc.st to the uterine wall, subsequent plac.ntation and c.nc.ptus(embryo/fetus and assoc.ated plac.ntal membranes) development. This review provides a suc.inc. overview of integrin struc.ure, ligand binding, and signaling followed with a c.nc.se overview of embryonic.development, implantation, and early plac.ntation in pigs, sheep, humans, and mic. as an example for rodents. A brief timeline of the initial loc.lization of integrin subunits to the uterine luminal epithelium(LE) and c.nc.ptus trophoblast is then presented, followed by sequential summaries of integrin expression and func.ion during gestation in pigs, sheep, humans, and rodents. As appropriate for this journal, summaries of integrin expression and func.ion during gestation in pigs and sheep are in depth, whereas summaries for humans and rodents are brief. We are evaluating dryland c.tton produc.ion in Martin c.unty, Texas, measuring c.tton lint yield per unit of rainfall. Our goal is to c.llec. rainfall data per 250 - 400 ha. Upon selec.ion of a rainfall gauge, we realized that the c.st of using, for example, a tipping buc.et-type rain gauge would be too expensive and thus searc.ed for an alternative method. We selec.ed an all-in-one c.mmerc.ally available weather station;hereafter, referred to as a Personal Weather Station (PWS) that is both wireless and solar powered. Our objec.ive was to evaluate average measurements of rainfall obtained with the PWS and to c.mpare these to measurements obtained with an automatic.weather station (AWS). For this purpose, we installed four PWS deployed within 20 m of the Plant Stress and Water c.nservation Meteorologic.l Tower that was used as our AWS, loc.ted at USDA-ARS c.opping Systems Researc. Laboratory, Lubboc., TX. In addition, we measured and c.mpared hourly average values of short-wave irradianc. (Rg), air temperature (Tair) and relative humidity (RH), and wind speed (WS), and c.lc.lated values of dewpoint temperature (Tdew). This c.mparison was done over a 242-day period (1 Oc.ober 2022-31 May 2023) and results indic.ted that there was no statistic.l differenc. in measurements of rainfall between the PWS and AWS. Hourly average values of Rg measured with the PWS and AWS agreed on c.ear days, but PWS measurements were higher on c.oudy days. There was no statistic.l differenc. between PWS and AWS hourly average measurements of Tair, RH, and c.lc.lated Tdew. Hourly average measurements of Rg and WS were more variable. We c.nc.uded that the PWS we selec.ed will provide adequate values of rainfall and other weather variables to meet our goal of evaluating dryland c.tton lint yield per unit rainfall.

The Permian Basin is one of the most prolific.and c.rrently one of the most ac.ive,oil and gas basins in the *** Lower Permian strata in the Permian Basin have produc.d more than 14 billion barrels of oil(BBO),making it the largest volume of hydroc.rbon in the *** in the Midland Basin during late Leonardian through early Guadalupian(c..272-269 Ma)resulted in progradation of shelf edge and ultimately c.osure of the basin by Middle Permian *** analyzed a merged seismic.survey c.vering parts of the Permian Basin(i.e.,c.ntral Basin Platform and Midland Basin)in Andrews,Ec.or,and Midland c.unties,*** seismic.survey and well logs show the presenc. of gently dipping(c..1°)c.inoforms in the Upper San Andres and Grayburg Formations on the eastern edge of the c.ntral Basin Platform and western Midland *** seismic.attributes,c.rvature,and spec.ral dec.mposition identify low sinuosity slope c.annels oriented north-south,but suc. c.annels do not appear beyond the *** shelf edge shifts from north to south during deposition of the Upper San Andres and Grayburg *** identify five basinward shifts noted by the migration of the shelf edge toward the basin c.nter and the presenc. of c.annel features along the depositional *** petrophysic.l analysis indic.tes that c.annels c.t into c.rbonate roc.s and are filled by silic.c.astic.sediments;this interpretation is supported by the most negative c.rvature anomalies along the c.annel axes c.used by the differential c.mpac.ion between the c.rbonate and silic.c.astic.*** are a few c.annels with a northwest-southeast strike,whic. matc.es the direc.ion of the c.nc.o Lineament observed by satellite *** observations are c.nsistent with previous interpretations of the northern Midland Basin c.osure during Middle-Late Permian time.
