Collating Historic Weather Observations for the East Asian Region： Challenges, Solutions, and Reanalyses

Aiming at providing teachers and students virtual learning environments (VLE), e-Learning systems are today widely adopted in educational systems. These e-Learning systems provide a set of services so that teachers and students can communicate through the Web easily. In this paper, we are going to describe how such an e-Learning system can be adopted to support research activities. Scientists are now facing increasingly complex challenges. To meet these challenges, there is need to support research activities using the latest information technology. Since VLE systems are becoming more and more mature, they are natural candidates for building virtual research environments (VRE) systems to support both researchers and administrators involved in research. In this paper, we will discuss how existing e-Learning systems can be converted to VRE systems to support research. In particular, a Sakai based VRE system will be discussed to present what this e-Learning based VRE system can bring to researchers and their supporting staff and to increase their productivity.

The paper gives an overview of approaches towards ecological networks throughout Europe. It does not intend to present a complete picture, but to highlight common developments within countries and regions and show common principles and differences between countries and regions that have to be taken into account when developing a joint European initiative. Countries or regions that have not been included can be active in the same way, but information was not accessible to the authors for different reasons. This overview shows the comparable trends in decline of landscapes and the diversity in approaches to biodiversity conservation and nature conservation planning. Understanding the differences and common issues are of utmost importance to generalise common principles and to understand the way neighbours and other European partners approach problems.

Despite advanced therapies,the mortality of patients with myocardial infarction(MI)complicated by cardiogenic shock(CS)remains around 50%.Mechanical complications of MI are rare nowadays but associated with high mortality in patients who present with *** treatment strategies and mechanical circulatory support(MCS)devices have been increasingly used to improve the grim prognosis of refractory *** article discusses current evidence regarding the use of MCS in MI complicated by CS,ventricular septal rupture,free wall rupture and acute mitral *** selection should be tailored according to the cause and severity of *** MCS initiation and multidisciplinary team cooperation is mandatory for good *** associated bleeding remains a major complication and an obstacle to better *** prospective randomized trials will improve current knowledge regarding MCS indications,timing,and patient selection in the coming years.
