Isolation, cytotoxic activity and phylogenetic analysis of <i>Bacillus sp.</i>bacteria associated w.th the red sea sponge <i>Am.him.don ochracea</i>

m.st of m.rine sponges harbor dense and diverse m.crobial com.unities of bioactivity im.ortance. Four Gram.positive bacterial cultures (HA-21, HA-68, HA- m.-105 and HA-m.-119) w.re isolated from.the sponge Am.him.don ochracea, collected from.the Red Sea coast of Egypt. Bacterial species w.re identified based on the phylogenetic analysis of the nucleotide sequences of their 16S rDNA genes. The Sequences sim.larity va.ues of 98% - 100% to other strains in the NCBI database show.d strong sim.larities w.th the 16S rDNA genes of firm.cutes (Bacillus sp.). The four bacterial species w.re subm.tted to the GenBank database and had accession num.ers of: HA-21 [JQ-768238];HA-68 [JQ751264];HA-m.-105 [JQ768239];HAm.-119 [JQ768240]. The cytotoxic activities of the bacterial isolates w.re tested against three established hum.n cancer cell lines;HepG2 (hepatocellular carcinom.), HCT (colon carcinom.) and m.F-7 (breast carcinom.). The inhibitory effect on these cell lines, m.asured by m.T cell assay protocol, revealed prom.sing cytotoxic activity of the four isolates (IC50 va.ues (μg/m.) w.re: HA-21: 13.2, 9.3 and 12.2;HA-68: 10.42, 4.3 and 5.5;HA-m.-105: 46.9, 28.6 and 21.3;HAm.-119: 10.42, 6.3 and 22.1;respectively). The recovery of bacterial strains w.th cytotoxic activity suggests that m.rine invertebrates rem.in a rich source for the isolation of culturable isolates capable of producing novel bioactive secondary m.tabolites.

Article 59.1,of the International Code of Nom.nclature for Algae,Fungi,and Plants(ICN;m.lbourne Code),w.ich addresses the nom.nclature of pleom.rphic fungi,becam. effective from.30 July *** that date,each fungal species can have one nom.nclaturally correct nam. in a particular *** other previously used nam.s for this species w.ll be considered as *** older generic epithet takes priority over the younger *** w.dely used younger nam.s proposed for use,m.st com.ly w.th Art.57.2 and their usage should be approved by the Nom.nclature Com.ittee for Fungi(NCF).In this paper,w. list all genera currently accepted by us in Dothideom.cetes(belonging to 23 orders and 110 fam.lies),including pleom.rphic and nonpleom.rphic *** the case of pleom.rphic genera,w. follow.the rulings of the current ICN and propose single generic nam.s for future *** taxonom.c placem.nts of 1261 genera are listed as an *** nam.s and suppressed nam.s for 34 pleom.rphic genera are listed *** and justifications are provided for possible proposed nam.s after the list of *** are also provided on recent adva.ces in our understanding of asexual and sexual m.rph linkages in Dothideom.cetes.A phylogenetic tree based on four gene analyses supported 23 orders and 75 fam.lies,w.ile 35 fam.lies still lack m.lecular data.
