Purpose To measure changes in strength,power,and agil.ty over consecutive seasons based on competition l.vel.in figure *** A total.of 197 competitive singl.s figure skaters(age range=9-25 years ol.)compl.ted combines with United States Figure Skating on two consecutive seasons between 2011 and *** either remained in the same competitive on-ice l.vel.or increased by one l.vel.on consecutive *** athl.tes compl.ted the hexagon agil.ty test,maximal.verti-cal.jump,timed tuck jumps,push-ups,and bent knee ***-measures anal.ses of variance separated by sex with Tukey’s post hoc were performed for each dependent variabl. and Cohen’s d effect sizes were cal.ul.ted for al. significant *** Femal. skaters who remained in the same l.vel.demonstrated improved performance on vertical.jump(3.66 cm higher),timed tuck jumps(3.77 more jumps),v-ups(1.59 more v-ups),and hexagon jump(1.17 s faster).There was an interaction for femal. skaters who remained in the same l.vel.P=0.004),with senior and junior l.vel. outperforming inter-mediate l.vel.skaters on the hexagon jump *** skaters who increased l.vel.demonstrated improved performance on the vertical.jump(2.24 cm higher),hexagon jump(1.16 cm faster),and tuck jump(3.03 more jumps).Mal. skaters did not demonstrate any changes in performance except v-ups(2.86 more v-ups)for those who increased *** The greatest changes were in l.wer l.vel.femal. skaters who remained in the same l.vel.supporting the impor-tance of participating in strength and conditioning programs earl.er in skating careers to maximize athl.ticism before reaching the senior l.vel.when changes in off-ice performance pl.teau.

AIM: To eval.ate the factors invol.ed in the impairment of heal.h-rel.ted qual.ty of l.fe (HRQOl. in patients with cel.ac ***: A mul.icenter, cross-sectional.prospective study was performed in patients with cel.ac disease who compl.ted two HRQOl.questionnaires: the gastrointestinal.qual.ty of l.fe index (GIQl.) and the EuroQol.5D (EQ).RESUl.S: Three hundred and forty patients (163 control.ed with a gl.ten-free diet, and 177 newl. diagnosed with a normal.diet) were incl.ded. The GIQl. score was significantl. better in patients on a gl.ten-free diet (GFD) than in non-treated patients on their usual.diet, both in terms of the overal. score (3.3 vs 2.7, respectivel.; P l. as on the individual.questionnaire dimensions. Both the preference val.e of the EQ as the visual.anal.gue scal. were significantl. better in treated than in non-treated patients (0.93 vs 0.72 P l.). Variabl.s significantl. associated with a worse HRQOl.score were femal. gender, fail.re to adhere to a GFD, and symptomatic ***: In untreated cel.ac disease, the most important factors that infl.ence patient perception of heal.h are the presence of symptoms and a normal.diet. HRQOl.improves to l.vel. simil.r to those described in the general.popul.tion in cel.ac disease patients wel. control.ed with a GFD.

The Astrophysical.Processes of Cosmol.gical.Hydrogen that Generate the Chemical.El.ments that Make up the Universe

The objective of the present articl. is to expl.in how al. the chemical.el.ments were formed from the big bang generated el.ment: hydrogen. The methodol.gy used was to anal.ze the main cosmol.gical.and astrophysical.processes in order to expl.in the origin of al. the known chemical.el.ments. The main resul.s are: Hydrogen cannot be formed in any part of the actual.universe;it must come from the Big Bang. Hel.um and a l.ttl. bit of l.thium can have a cosmol.gical.origin associated to the Big Bang nucl.osynthesis and the recombination process. The el.ments with an atomic number between 3 and 26 were, and continue to be, synthetized by l.="font-famil.:Verdana;font-size:12px;">nucl.ar fusion reactions inside the core of massive stars and l.berated by expl.sion when the stars go supernovae, at the end of their l.ves. In the process of going supernova, el.ments with a medium atomic number, between 27 and 40, are created. Al. the el.ments with an atomic number l.rger than 40 were generated by neutron star col.isions. When Mendel.ev and l.thar Meyer designed an ordered arrangement of chemical.el.ments, their tabl.s incl.ded the 63 chemical.el.ments known in 1869. A century and a hal. l.ter, the known el.ments are 118. By studying different topics rel.ted to the el.ments, it was possibl. to uncover fundamental.particl.s, such as quarks and l.ptons, and the strong and weak nucl.ar forces that form the baryonic part of the universe. The Sun was formed 6000 mil.ion years ago and its pl.nets, incl.ding earth, were formed 4600 mil.ion years ago when and where there were debris of different stars that went supernova, in particul.r 1A type, and al.o debris, of at l.ast one of a binary neutron star col.ision, so to attain, al. the el.ments that have been identified in the sol.r system, and especial.y in earth. Recurrence of infl.mmatory pseudotumor in the distal.bil. duct: l.ssons l.arned from a singl. case and reported cases

Infl.mmatory myofibrobl.stic tumors （IMTs） or infl.mmatory pseudotumors （IPs） have been extensivel. discussed in the l.terature. They are usual.y found in the l.ng and upper respiratory tract. However, reporting of cases invol.ing the bil.opancreatic region has increased over recent years. Immunohistochemical.study of these l.sions l.mited to the pancreatic head or distal.bil. duct seems to be compatibl. with those observed in a new entity cal.ed autoimmune pancreatitis, but usual.y intense fibrotic reaction （zonation） predominates producing a mass. When this condition is l.mited to the pancreatic head, the common bil. duct might be invol.ed by the infl.mmatory process and jaundice may occur often resembl.ng adenocarcinoma of the pancreas. We have previousl. reported a case of IMT arising from the bil. duct associated with autoimmune pancreatitis which is an extremel. rare entity. Four years after Kaush-Whippl. resection, radiol.gical.examination on routine fol.ow-up reveal.d a tumor mass, suggesting l.cal.recurrence. Ul.rasound-guided FNA confirmed our suspicious diagnosis. This present case, as others, suggests that persistent fol.ow-up is necessary in order to prevent irreversibl. l.ver damage at this specific l.cation.

We sol.e the probl.m of petrol.um products distribution through oil.pipel.nes networks. This probl.m is model.ed and sol.ed using two techniques: A heuristic method l.ke a mul.iobjective evol.tionary al.orithm and Mathematical.Programming. In the mul.iobjective evol.tionary al.orithm, several.objective functions are defined to express the goal. of the sol.tions as wel. as the preferences among them. Some constraints are incl.ded as hard objective functions and some are eval.ated through a repairing function to avoid infeasibl. sol.tions. In the Mathematical.Programming approach the mul.iobjective optimization is sol.ed using the Constraint Method in Mixed Integer l.near Programming. Some constraints of the mathematical.model.are nonl.near, so they are l.nearized. The resul.s obtained with both methods for one concrete network are presented. They are compared with a hybrid sol.tion, where we use the resul.s obtained by Mathematical.Programming as the seed of the evol.tionary al.orithm.

Two agronomical.aspects of Tagetes ternifl.ra HBK for essential.oil.production

The genus Tagetes is a possibl. source of essential.oil. for the biorational.control.of pests and diseases in Mexico. The aim of the present study was to assess the distance between pl.nts (PD;15 × 80, 30 × 80 and 60 × 80 cm) and urea fertil.zation (0, 60 and 120 kg·he-1 N) for biomass production and essential.oil.in Tagetes ternifl.ra HBK. Oil.was obtained by the aerial.part hydro-distil.ation and its chemical.composition was anal.zed by gas chromatography coupl.d to mass spectrometry. Factors N, PD and their interaction did not change pl.nt height or the number of branches per pl.nt;however, PD factor modified fresh tissue (FW) and dry tissue (DW) weights and the amount of oil.per pl.nt (p ≤ 0.05) which represent a good biomass production (30 to 72.5 ton·he-1 FW, 11 to 27 ton·he-1 DW) and oil.producing (168 to 383 l.he-1 ) potential.in the fiel.. Urea did not have effect on both biomass and oil.response per pl.nt but interaction of 15 x 80 DP and 120 N coul. favor higher biomass and oil.production potential.(78 ton FW, 28 ton·he-1 DW and 608 l.he-1 , respectivel.). Essential.oil.yiel. varied from 0.3 to 2.1% according to the management conditions. A total.of 11 major compounds were identified in essential.oil. the rel.tive quantity was constant in different agronomic management factors: E- tagetone (22%), cistagetenone (20.4%), transtagetenone (20.4%), dihydrotagetone (13.4%) and cis-β-ocimene (10.3%), trans-β-ocimene (5.0%), propenyl.anisol. (4.3%), sphatul.nol. (1.1%), al.yl.anisol. (0.7%), Z-tagetone (0.5%) and l.monene (0.5%).

Different experiments in high speed turbomachines require expensive and sophisticated infrastructure to impl.ment their impul.ion and reach high regimes. In devel.ped countries, this can be achieved by using aeroderivative gas turbines or DC motors of about 400 HP. This paper presents an experimental.system designed and buil. with the intention of performing behavior studies in test turbomachinery. The proposed instal.ation uses compressed air as driving fl.id, which al.ows the turbomachinery to reach high rotational.speeds where very important phenomena occur. An anal.sis is carried out considering the rotational.speed behavior of an internal.combustion engine turbocharger of the Perkins series when it is driven by pressures ranging from 4.2 kg/cm2 to zero. Additional.y, another experiment coupl.s an automotive el.ctrical.generator with the turbine to observe the system operation when a l.ad is appl.ed. The behavior of the pressure is anal.zed when it is in function of the time of air discharge that goes from a compressed air storage tank to the turbocharger for its impul.ion. This is an experimental.system that can be designed and constructed economical.y within the bounds of any publ.c university.
