Nutrient management plays a crucial role in the yield and quality of sweet corn.A field experiment was conducted in consecutive two kharif seasons in 2018 and 2019 to investigate the effect of various organic sources of nutrients in combination with inorganic sources on the yield and quality of sweet corn under new alluvial soils of West Bengal,*** were:T_(1):Control(without fertilizers);T_(2):100%recommended dose(RDF)of chemical fertilizers(CF)(RDF CF_(100%));T_(3):100%recommended dose of N(RDN)through vermicompost(VC)(RDN VC_(100%));T_(4):50 RDN through CF+50%RDN through VC(RDN CF_(50%)+RDN VC50%);T_(5):50%RDF through CF+50%RDN through organic source(OS)1,Soligro(Ascophyllum nodosum)granular(RDN CF_(50%)+RDN OS_(150%));T6:50%RDN through CF+50%RDN through OS 2,Bioenzyme(liquid)(RDN CF_(50%)+RDN OS250%);T7:50%RDN through CF+50%RDN through OS 3,Opteine(Ascophyllum nodosum)filtrate[RDN CF_(50%)+RDN OS350%];T8:50%RDN through VC+50%RDF through OS 1,Soligro(Ascophyllum nodosum)granular(RDN VC50%+RDN OS_(150%)).The OS of fertilizers were VC,SoliGro Gr(OS1)(Ascophyllum nodosum),Bioenzyme liquid(OS2),and Opteine(Ascophyllum nodosum)filtrate(OS3).The inorganic source was traditional CF applied at the RDF(150:75:75 kg ha^(−1) of N:P2O5:k2O).The VC was used to supply 100%RDN as one source or 50%RDN when combined with CF or *** fruit yield(10.75 and 10.79 t ha^(−1) in 2018 and 2019,respectively)was recorded when RDF was substituted through CF only,being statistically at par with 50%CF+50%VC on a nitrogen equivalent basis(9.92 and 10.00 t ha^(−1) in 2018 and 2019,respectively)and 100%VC(8.22 and 8.32 t ha^(−1) in 2018 and 2019,respectively).Compared to chemical sources of nutrients,VC-based treatments produced a larger percentage of large-size cob(>25 cm).The 100%VC increased antioxidant(8.35 and 8.45 mg g^(−1)),carotenoid(0.59 and 0.61 mg/100 g),and phenol(55.06 and 55.02 mg 100 g^(−1))content compared with its 50%dose in combination with other *** s

Chemical hardness-driven interpretable machine learning approach for rapid search of photocatalysts

Strategies combining high-throughput(HT)and machine learning(ML)to accelerate the discovery of promising new materials have garnered immense attention in recent *** knowledge of new guiding principles is usually scarce in such studies,essentially due to the‘black-box’nature of the ML ***,we devised an intuitive method of interpreting such opaque ML models through SHapley Additive exPlanations(SHAP)values and coupling them with the HT approach for finding efficient 2D watersplitting *** developed a new database of 30992D materials consisting of metals connected to six ligands in an octahedral geometry,termed as 2DO(octahedral 2D materials)*** ML models were constructed using a combination of composition and chemical hardness-based features to gain insights into the thermodynamic and overall *** importantly,it distinguished the target properties of the isocompositional 2DO materials differing in bond connectivities by combining the advantages of both elemental and structural *** interpretable ML regression,classification,and data analysis lead to a new hypothesis that the highly stable 2DO materials follow the HSAB *** most stable 2DO materials were further screened based on suitable band gaps within the visible region and band alignments with respect to standard redox potentials using the GW method,resulting in 21 potential ***,HfSe_(2)and ZrSe_(2)were found to have high solar-tohydrogen efficiencies reaching their theoretical *** proposed methodology will enable materials scientists and engineers to formulate predictive models,which will be accurate,physically interpretable,transferable,and computationally tractable.

Herein,we report the synthesis of Zn_(0.7)Mg_(0.3)Nd_(x)Fe_(2-x)O_(4)(where,x=0,0,0,01,0,02)ferrite nanoparticles by employing the sol-gel auto-combustion *** X-ray diffraction(XRD)pattern suggests the formation of a pure cubic structure,without any impurity phase,with an Fd3m space group at room *** increasing doping amount,the crystallite size is reported as 35-41 nm,while the lattice parameters rise from 0.8381 to 0.8395 *** emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM)images show the formation of spherical grains with agglomerated morphology in all the samples,with grain sizes ranging from 49 to 103 *** dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDX)and elemental mapping investigation confirm the chemical purity of all the *** transform infrared(FTIR)analysis shows the presence of two prominent peaks around 440 and 560 cm^(-1)that correspond to the octahedral and tetrahedral *** addition,the existence of five Raman active vibratio nal modes in all produced specimens again confirms the structural purity of all the *** M-H curve shows that saturation magnetization(M_(s))first increases from 14.98 to 28.22 emu/g and then decreases to 18.98emu/g with increasing doping *** is due to the A-B type super-exchange interaction for the synthesized *** variation in coercivity(H_(c))and magnetic anisotropy(k_(1))suggest the thermal stability of all the samples and can be utilized in transformers and solenoids.

GIS Based Identification and Assessment of Groundwater Quality Potential Zones in Puri City, India

Puri city is situated on the east coast of India and groundwater is the only source available to meet the potable water supply of the city. The objective of the study was to assess the impact of anthropogenic activities on groundwater quality and to identify the groundwater potential zones for drinking water production using GIS. Major sources of groundwater contamination in the city were open discharges of domestic sewage, inadequate sewerage system, open defecation, septic tanks, soak pits, contaminated water pools and unorganized solid waste dumping. Groundwater samples were collected and analyzed during post and pre monsoon to evaluate the drinking water quality as per Indian standards. The groundwater zones were prepared based on weighted index overlay analysis by assigning the weights based on the drinking water standards under different classes of individual water quality parameters. Finally, the potential zones were identified and assessed as suitable, moderately suitable and unsuitable for domestic purpose. Based on groundwater quality and geospatial analysis, measures were suggested to protect groundwater resources.

Arabidopsis thaliana RECEPTOR DEAD kINASE1 Functions as a Positive Regulator in Plant Responses to ABA

Abscisic acid （ABA） is a major phytohormone involved in important stress-related and developmental plant processes. Membrane-delimited ABA signal transduction plays an important role in early ABA signaling, but the molecular mechanisms connecting core signaling components to the plasma membrane remain un- clear. Plants have evolved a large number of receptor-like kinases （RLks） to modulate diverse biological processes by perceiving extracellular stimuli and activating downstream signaling responses. In this study, a putative leucine-rich repeat-RLk gene named RECEPTOR DEAD kINASE1 （AtRDk1） was identified and characterized in Arabidopsis thaliana. RDk1 promoter-GUS analysis revealed that RDk1 is expressed ubiq- uitously in the various tissues in Arabidopsis, and its expression is mainly induced by ABA. In the presence of ABA, RDkl-deficient rdkl-1 and rdkl-2 lines showed significant resistance in cotyledon greening and root growth, whereas RDkl-overexpressing lines showed enhanced sensitivity. Consistently, the expres- sion of ABA-responsive genes was significantly downregulated in rdkl mutant seedlings, which were also hypersensitive to drought stress with increased water loss. Interestingly, RDk1 was found to be an atypical kinase localized to the plasma membrane and did not require its kinase activity during ABA-mediated inhi- bition of seedling development. Accordingly, RDk1 interacted in the plasma membrane with type 2C protein phosphatase ABSClSIC ACID INSENSITIVE1 （ABI1）; this interaction was further enhanced by exogenous application of ABA, suggesting that RDkl-mediated recruitment of ABI1 onto the plasma membrane is important for ABA signaling. Taken together, these results reveal an important role for RDk1 in plant responses to abiotic stress conditions in an ABA-dependent manner.

Background:?According to the GLOBOCAN 2018 report, the estimated incidence of lung cancer in India was 67,795 in both sexes. The treatment of advanced Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) saw a major paradigm shift with recent advances in molecular-targeted therapy. Immune checkpoint blockade therapy is one such novel strategy with promising clinical benefits in advanced NSCLC. Programmed cell death receptor-1/Programmed cell death ligand-1 (PD-1/PD-L1) pathway is one such checkpoint and has thus become the current area of interest in the treatment of lung carcinoma. The PD-1/?PD-L1 pathway is under active investigation as it represents a promising therapeutic target in NSCLC. The expression of PD-L1 in tumor cells has been suggested as a predictive marker of the clinical response to PD-1/?PD-L1-targeted therapy. Methods: This study was carried out at the Department of Pathology, Health Care Global Specialty Hospital, Bangalore from May 2018 to May 2019. In this study, we analyzed pattern of PD-L1 expression by immunohistochemistry testing using our own Laboratory Developed Test (LDT) in NSCLC patients. Results:?Our study group comprised 50 patients of NSCLC. Among our study population, 40% of the patients exhibited PD-L1 immunopositivity (≥1%) with 28% of them having any expression (TPS 1% - 49%) and 12% of them having a high expression (TPS ≥ 50%) of PD-L1. Majority of them exhibited adenocarcinoma type of NSCLC under which the solid subtype showed a direct correlation with PD-L1 positivity (p-value: 0.004) with a poorly differentiated tumor histology being common in our population in relation to PD-L1 positivity (p-value: 0.043). PD-L1 expression did not correlate with age, gender, smoking status or clinical stage in our study. No association was found between tumor histology (SCC or AC) and driver mutation status with expression of PD-L1 in the present study. Hydatid disease is a zoonosis that can involve almost any organ in the human body. After the liver, the lungs are the most common site for hydatid disease in adults. Imaging plays a pivotal role in the diagnosis of the disease, as clinical features are often nonspecific. Classical radiological signs of pulmonary hydatid cysts have been described in the literature, aiding in the diagnosis of the disease. However, complicated hydatid cysts can prove to be a diagnostic challenge at times due to their atypical imaging features. Radiography is the initial imaging modality. Computed tomography can provide a specific diagnosis in complicated cases. Ultrasound is particularly useful in peripheral lung lesions. The role of magnetic resonance imaging largely remains unexplored.
