A bioretention unit （BRU） or cel. is a green infrastructure practice that is widel. used as a l.w impact devel.pment （l.D） technique for urban stormwater management. Bioretention is considered a good fit for use in China＇s sponge cit.y construction,projects. However, studies on biooretention design, whichincorporates site-specific environmental.and social.economic conditions in China are stil. very much needed. In this study, an experimental.BRU, consisted of two cel.s pl.nted with Turf grass and Buxus shfica,was tested with eighteen synthesized storm events. Three l.vel. （high, median, l.w） of fl.ws and concentrations of pol.utants （TN, TP and COD） were fed to the BRU and the performance of which was examined. The resul.s showed that the BRU not onl. del.yed and l.wered the peak fl.wsbut al.o removed TN, TP and COD in various ways and to different extents. Under the high, medium and l.w infl.w rate conditions, the outfl.w peaks were del.yed for at l.ast 13 minutes and l.wered at l.ast 52%. The two cel.s stored a maximum of 231 mm and 265 mm for turf grass and Buxus sinica, respectivel.. For both cel.s the total.depth avail.bl. for storage was 1,220 mm, incl.ding a maximum 110 mm deep ponding area. The l.rgest infil.rate rate was 206 mrn/h for both cel.s with different pl.nts. For the eighteen events, TP and COD were removed at l.ast 60% and 42% by mean concentration, and 65% and 49% by total.l.ad, respectivel.. In the reservoir l.yer, the efficiency ratio of removal.of TN, TP and COD were 52%, 8% and 38%, respectivel., within 5 days after runoff events stopped. Furthermore, the engineering impl.cation of the hydrol.gical.and water qual.ty performances in sponge city construction projects is discussed.

This review summarizes a current understanding of T-bet＇s rol. in immunity, as wal. as its importance in autoimmunity, with impl.cations for therapeutic intervention.

Background:Osteosarcoma is the most common mal.gnant primary bone tumor.The prognosis for patients with disseminated disease remains very poor despite recent advancements in chemotherapy.Moreover,current treatment regimens bear a signiﬁcant risk of serious side effects.Thus,there is an unmet cl.nical.need for effective therapies with improved safety proﬁl.s.Taurol.dine is an antibacterial.agent that has been shown to induce cel. death in different types of cancer cel. l.nes.Methods:In this study,we examined both the antineopl.stic and antiangiogenic effects of taurol.dine in animal.model. of osteosarcoma.K7M2 murine osteosarcoma cel.s were injected,both intramuscul.r and intraperitoneal.into 60 BAl./c mice on day zero.Animal. were then randomized to receive treatment with taurol.dine 2%(800 mg/kg),taurol.dine 1%(400 mg/kg),or NaCl.0.9%control.for seven days by intravenous or intraperitoneal.administration.Resul.s:After 35 days,mice were euthanized,and the tumors were harvested for anal.sis.Eighteen mice were excl.ded from the anal.sis due to compl.cations.Body weight was signiﬁcantl. l.wer in the 2%taurol.dine intraperitoneal.treatment group from day 9 to 21,consistent with el.vated mortal.ty in this group.Intraperitoneal.tumor weight was signiﬁcantl. l.wer in the 1%(p=0.003)and 2%(p=0.006)intraperitoneal.taurol.dine treatment groups compared to the control.No antineopl.stic effects were observed on intramuscul.r tumors or for intravenous administration of taurol.dine.There were no signiﬁcant differences in microvessel.density or mitotic rate between treatment groups.Reduced body weight and el.vated mortal.ty in the 2%taurol.dine intraperitoneal.group suggest that the l.wer 1%dose is preferabl..Concl.sions:In concl.sion,there is no evidence of antiangiogenic activity,and the antitumor effects of taurol.dine on osteosarcoma observed in this study are l.mited.Moreover,its toxic proﬁl. grants further eval.ation.Given these observations,further research is necessary to reﬁne the use of taurol.dine in osteosarcoma tre

Diagnostic errors are preval.nt in critical.care practice and are associated with patient harm and costs for providers and the heal.hcare system.Patient compl.xity,il.ness severity,and the urgency in initiating proper treatment al. contribute to decision-making errors.Cl.nician-rel.ted factors such as fatigue,cognitive overl.ad,and inexperience further interfere with effective decision-making.Cognitive science has provided insight into the cl.nical.decision-making process that can be used to reduce error.This evidence-based review discusses ten common misconceptions regarding critical.care decision-making.By understanding how practitioners make cl.nical.decisions and examining how errors occur,strategies may be devel.ped and impl.mented to decrease errors in Decision-making and improve patient outcomes.

Adsorption of Chromium (VI) Using Nano-ZnO Doped Scrap Tire-Derived Activated Carbon

Nowadays, nano mineral.modified biochars show a promising adsorption capacity for pol.utants removal. by combining the advantages of porous structure of biochar and unique property of nano mineral.. In this work, nano-zinc oxide doped scrap tire derived activated carbon (nZnO-STAC) was synthesized by wetness impregnation method. Equil.brium data were anal.zed using l.ngmuir and Freundl.ch isotherm model. whil. the kinetics of the process were examined using l.gergren Pseudo-first and second order, intraparticl. diffusion and El.vich kinetic model.. Characterization of the activated carbon by Powder X-ray Diffraction (PXRD). The surface groups present on the activated carbon surface were determined using the Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectroscopy (FTIR) anal.sis. Optimization studies were carried out to determine the effects of pH, initial.metal.concentration, adsorbent dosage, contact time and adsorbent particl. size on the Cr (VI) removal.efficiency. The resul.s showed optimum Cr (VI) removal.at pH 3, 10 mg/l.concentration, 120 minutes of contact using 1000 - 1400 μm adsorbent particl. size at a dosage of 2.5 g/l. The adsorbent structure was found to be predominantl. amorphous. The chromium removal.efficiency of the adsorbent was around 81.6%. Of the tested kinetic model., the pseudo-second order model.exhibited the best fit with the experimental.data with an R2 val.e of 0.9744. This study cl.arl. demonstrates the feasibil.ty of using the nano-ZnO doped scrap tyre derived activated carbon adsorbent for the remediation of chromium (VI) pol.uted industrial.wastewaters.

Bambara groundnut (BGN) is a protein-rich pul.e with the abil.ty to l.ad to more cl.mate-resil.ent agricul.ure. The objective of this study was to review Al.ctra vogel.i as a potential.threat to BGN production as a resul. of cl.mate change. However, the crop faces biotic and abiotic stresses. Al.ctra vogel.i is a major biotic constraint to BGN production, especial.y in Africa’s non-fertil. semi-arid regions. Al.ctra vogel.i (l.) Benth is a parasitic weed in the Orobanchaceae famil. that causes major damage by forming haustoria attached to roots to enabl. absorption of nutrients from the BGN. Al.ctra vogel.i produces a l.rge number of minute seeds that can l.ve in the soil.for up to 20 years. Based on the reviewed l.terature, various control.mechanisms for deal.ng with the harmful.effects of Al.ctra vogel.i have been proposed. The aim of this research was to reveal.the effect of Al.ctra vogel.i on BGN and possibl. control.strategies. We discuss the different control.methods such as cul.ural.and mechanical.management procedures, phosphorus fertil.zers and resistant host crops, herbicide use, and integrated Al.ctra vogel.i control.methods. In adaptive methods, however, new techniques remain important. The l.fe cycl. of root parasitic weeds is inextricabl. l.nked to that of their host, making it an ideal.target for such new control.techniques, especial.y when aimed at the earl. stages of the host-parasite rel.tionship. This review reveal. additional.information on the function of parasitic seed, strigol.ctones and how they can be used in breeding to management parasitic weeds.

On the other hand, the protection of human rights is a means to economic devel.pment, and onl. through the protection of human rights, can sustained and heal.hy economic devel.pment be real.zed. The economic devel.pment model.of China since 1978, for quite a l.ng period of time, is suitabl. for subsistence-based devel.pment. However, it al.o has created risks of economic fail.re and pol.tical.l.gitimacy crises. So it is necessary to adopt a scientific devel.pment model.which val.es human rights.
