Adaptive green traffic signal controlling using vehicular communication

The importance of using adaptive traffic signal control for figuring out the unpredictable traffic congestion in today's metropolitan life cannot be overemphasized. The vehicular ad hoc network(VANET), as an integral component of intelligent transportation systems(ITSs), is a new potent technology that has recently gained the attention of academics to replace traditional instruments for providing information for adaptive traffic signal controlling systems(TSCSs). Meanwhile, the suggestions of VANET-based TSCS approaches have some weaknesses:(1) imperfect compatibility of signal timing algorithms with the obtained VANET-based data types, and(2) inefficient process of gathering and transmitting vehicle density information from the perspective of network quality of service(Qo S). This paper proposes an approach that reduces the aforementioned problems and improves the performance of TSCS by decreasing the vehicle waiting time, and subsequently their pollutant emissions at intersections. To achieve these goals, a combination of vehicle-to-vehicle(V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure(V2I) communications is used. The V2 V communication scheme incorporates the procedure of density calculation of vehicles in clusters, and V2 I communication is employed to transfer the computed density information and prioritized movements information to the road side traffic controller. The main traffic input for applying traffic assessment in this approach is the queue length of vehicle clusters at the intersections. The proposed approach is compared with one of the popular VANET-based related approaches called MC-DRIVE in addition to the traditional simple adaptive TSCS that uses the Webster method. The evaluation results show the superiority of the proposed approach based on both traffic and network Qo S criteria.

BACKGROUND The influence of Helicobacter-pylori(***)infection and the characteristics of gastric cancer(GC)on tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte(TIL)levels has not been extensively *** of infiltrating-immune-cell subtypes as well as survival is necessary to obtain comprehensive *** To determine the rates of deficient mismatch-repair(dMMR),HER2-status and *** infection and their association with TIL levels in *** Samples from 503 resected GC tumors were included and TIL levels were evaluated following the international-TILs-working-group recommendations with assessment of the intratumoral(IT),stromal(ST)and invasive-border(IB)*** density of CD3,CD8 and CD163 immune cells,and dMMR and HER2-status were determined by immunohistochemistry(IHC).*** infection was evaluated by routine histology and quantitative PCR(qPCR)in a subset of *** dMMR was found in 34.4%,HER2+in 5%and ***-positive in 55.7%of *** IT-TIL was associated with grade-3(P=0.038),while ST-TIL with grade-1(P<0.001),intestinal-histology(P<0.001)and no-recurrence(P=0.003).dMMR was associated with high TIL levels in the ST(P=0.019)and IB(P=0.01)compartments,and STCD3(P=0.049)and ST-CD8(P=0.05)***2-was associated with high IT-CD8(P=0.009).*** was associated with high IT-TIL levels(P=0.009)when assessed by routine-histology,and with high TIL levels in the 3 compartments(P=0.002-0.047)and CD8 density in the IT and ST compartments(P=0.001)when assessed by qPCR.A longer overall survival was associated with low IT-CD163(P=0.003)and CD8/CD3(P=0.001 in IT and P=0.002 in ST)and high IT-CD3(P=0.021),ST-CD3(P=0.003)and CD3/CD163(P=0.002).CONCLUSION TIL levels were related to dMMR and *** CD8/CD3 and high CD163/CD3 were associated with lower recurrence and longer survival.

Melting and second order slip effect on convective flow of nanofluid past a radiating stretching/shrinking sheet

A mathematical model is presented for forced convective slip flow of a nanofluid past a radiating stretching/shrinking *** boundary condition is taken into *** nanofluid model involves the Brownian motion and thermophoresis *** group transformation is used to the transport equations as well as the boundary conditions to develop the similarity equations,before being solved numerically using the Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg fourth-fifth order numerical *** show the effects of the controlling parameters on the dimensionless velocity,temperature,nanoparticle volume fraction,skin friction factor,local Nusselt,and local Sherwood numbers,numerical results are presented both in graphical and tabular *** is found that the friction factor decreases with slip and melting parameters for both stretching/shrinking *** is also found that the Nusselt number decreases with the first order slip while it increases with melting and radiation parameters in both ***,the Sherwood number decreases with the melting parameter both for radiating and non-radiating stretching/shrinking *** excellent agreement is found between the present numerical results and published results.

Characterizing pressure fluctuation into single-loop oscillating heat pipe

The pressure characteristics inside single loop oscillating heat pipe （OHP） having 4.5 mm inner diameter copper tube with the loop height of 440 mm were addressed. Distilled water was used as working fluid inside the OHP with different filling ratios of 40%, 60% and 80% of total inside volume. Experimental results show that the thermal characteristics are significantly inter-related with pressure fluctuations as well as pressure frequency. And the pressure frequency also depends upon the evaporator temperature that is maintained in the range of 60-96 ℃. Piezoresistive absolute pressure sensor （Model-Kistler 4045A5） was used to take data. The investigation shows that the filling ratio of 60% gives the highest inside pressure magnitude at maximum number of pressure frequency at any of set evaporator temperature and the lowest heat flow resistance is achieved at 60% filling ratio.

Magnesium hydride(MgH_(2))is the most feasible and effective solid-state hydrogen storage material,which has excellent reversibility but initiates decomposing at high temperatures and has slow kinetics ***,zinc titanate(Zn_(2)TiO_(4))synthesised by the solid-state method was used as an additive to lower the initial temperature for dehydrogenation and enhance the re/dehydrogenation behaviour of MgH_(2).With the presence of Zn_(2)TiO_(4),the starting temperature for the dehydrogenation of MgH_(2)was remarkably lowered to around 290℃–305℃.In addition,within 300 s,the MgH_(2)–Zn_(2)TiO_(4)sample absorbed 5.0 wt.%of H_(2)and 2.2–3.6 wt.%H_(2)was liberated from the composite sample in 30 min,which is faster by 22–36 times than as-milled MgH_(2).The activation energy of the MgH_(2)for the dehydrogenation process was also downshifted to 105.5 k j.mol with the addition of Zn_(2)TiO_(4)indicating a decrease of 22%than as-milled MgH_(2).The superior behaviour of MgH_(2)was due to the formation of Mg Zn_(2),MgO and MgTiO_(3),which are responsible for ameliorating the re/dehydrogenation behaviour of MgH_(2).These findings provide a new understanding of the hydrogen storage behaviour of the catalysed-MgH_(2)system.

Performance Enhancement of CZTS Solar Cell with CuSbS₂ Back Surface Field: A Numerical Simulation Approach

Copper Zinc Tin Sulfide (CZTS) solar cell (SC) has garnered significant attention from researchers in recent years owing to its affordability, less toxic earth abundant constituents, remarkable conversion efficiency and promising prospects for the bulk manufacture of thin film solar cells. Moreover, CZTS exhibits a high absorption coefficient and possesses an optimal adj.stable direct band gap, making it a promising candidate for various photovoltaic applications. Hence, in this study, a new configuration (CuSbS2/CZTS/CdS/i-ZnO/ Al: ZnO) is introduced for CZTS SC, which was simulated using SCAPS-1D. The utilization of CuSbS2 as the back surface field (BSF) and CdS as the buffer layer was investigated to enhance the performance of CZTS SC. Moreover, a comparative numerical analysis was carried out to contrast the SC configurations of CZTS/CdS/i-ZnO/Al: ZnO and CuSbS2/CZTS/CdS/i-ZnO/Al: ZnO. In this study, the impact on SC parameters such as open circuit voltage (Voc), short- circuit current density (j.sub>sc), Fill-factor (FF), and Power Conversion Efficiency (PCE) by varying thickness, doping density, defect density of absorber and buffer layer, thickness and doping density of BSF, and operating temperature have been thoroughly investigated. The optimum structure consists of i-ZnO and Al: ZnO for the window layer, CdS for the buffer layer, CZTS for the absorber layer, and BSF layers with thicknesses of 50 nm, 200 nm, 50 nm, 2000 nm, and 50 nm, respectively. The designed SC with a BSF layer had a PCE of 28.76%, j.sub>SC of 32.53 mA/cm2, Voc of 1.01233 V, and FF of 87.35%. The structure without a BSF layer has a PCE of 24.21%, Voc of 0.898 V, j.sub>SC of 31.56 mA/cm2, and FF of 85.32%. Self-assembled V2O5 interconnected microspheres produced in a fish-water electrolyte medium as a high- performance lithium-ion-battery cathode

Interconnected microspheres of V2Os composed of ultra-long nanobelts are synthesized in an environmental friendly way by adopting a conventional anodization process combined with annealing. The synthesis process is simple and low-cost because it does not require any additional chemicals or reagents. Commercial fish-water is used as an electrolyte medium to anodize vanadium foil for the first time. Electron microscopy investigation reveals that each belt consists of numerous nanofibers with free space between them. Therefore, this novel nanostructure demonstrates many outstanding features during electrochemical operation. This structure prevents self-aggregation of active materials and fully utilizes the advantage of active materials by maintaining a large effective contact area between active materials, conductive additives, and electrolyte, which is a key challenge for most nanomaterials. The electrodes exhibit promising electrochemical performance with a stable discharge capacity of 227 mAh·g^-1 at 1C after 200 cycles. The rate capability of the electrode is outstanding, and the obtained capacity is as high as 278 at 0.5C, 259 at 1C, 240 at 2C, 206 at 5C, and 166 mAh·g^-1 at 10C. Overall this novel structure could be one of the most favorable nanostructures of vanadium oxide-based cathodes for Li-ion batteries.

Numerical solution of thermo-solutal mixed convective slip flow from a radiative plate with convective boundary condition

A mathematical model for mixed convective slip flow with heat and mass transfer in the presence of thermal radiation is presented. A convective boundary condition is included and slip is simulated via the hydrodynamic slip parameter. Heat generation and absorption effects are also incorporated. The Rosseland diffusion flux model is employed. The governing partial differential conservation equations are reduced to a system of coupled, ordinary differential equations via Lie group theory method. The resulting coupled equations are solved using shooting method. The influences of the emerging parameters on dimensionless velocity, tempera- ture and concentration distributions are investigated. Increasing radiative-conductive parameter accelerates the boundary layer flow and increases temperature whereas it depresses concentration. An elevation in convection-conduction parameter also accelerates the flow and temperatures whereas it reduces concentrations. Velocity near the wall is considerably boosted with increasing momentum slip parameter although both temperature and concentration boundary layer thicknesses are decreased. The presence of a heat source is found to increase momentum and thermal boundary layer thicknesses but reduces concentration boundary layer thickness. Excelle- nt correlation of the numerical solutions with previous non-slip studies is demonstrated. The current study has applications in bio- reactor diffusion flows and high-temperature chemical materials processing systems.
