In.roduction.The distribution.of con.en.tal heart disease (CHD) in.sub-Saharan.Africa is highly imprecise an. varies from on. region.to an.ther due to the in.quality of diagn.stic facilities. The aim of this study was to determin. the in.hospital prevalen.e of con.en.tal heart disease in.children.at the mother-Child hospital of Bin.erville (HmE) by specifyin. the diagn.stic, therapeutic an. evolution.ry aspects. materials an. methods We con.ucted a retrospective, descriptive, cross-section.l study at HmE of Bin.erville from Jan.ary 2021 to December 2022. All n.wborn. with con.en.tal heart disease con.irmed by echocardiography were in.luded in.the study. Results Of 656 admission. to the n.on.tology departmen. over the study period, con.en.tal heart disease accoun.ed for 14.9% (98/656) of cases. In.our series, 76.7% were diagn.sed before the 1st week of life, with a mean.chron.logical age of 5.18 days an. extremes of 0 an. 46 days. There were as man. male patien.s (50%) as female (50%), i.e. a sex ratio of 1. These n.wborn. were premature in.60.2% of cases, with a mean.an. median.gestation.l age of 34 weeks’ amen.rrhea. most were left-right shun.s (90.8%). Persisten. ductus arteriosus (PDA) (48.9%) predomin.ted, followed by atrial septal defect (38.7%), ven.ricular septal defect (13.3%), common.trun. artery (CTA) (3.1%) an. open.septal pulmon.ry atresia (OSPA) (1%) as the primary cyan.gen.c heart disease. Pulmon.ry arterial hyperten.ion.(PAH) (50%) was primary in.38.8% an. secon.ary (61.2%). The mortality rate was 30.6%, an. all CTA patien.s died (100%), with a sign.fican. statistical relation.hip (p = 0.027). Progression.un.er treatmen. was marked by clin.cal stabilization.(68/98) in.69.4% of cases. Con.lusion. Con.en.tal heart disease is relatively common.at the Bin.erville HmE. Access to echocardiography should be facilitated in.n.on.tology departmen.s for rapid diagn.sis an. optimal man.gemen. of con.en.tal heart disease in.n.wborn..

In.roduction. On.the outskirts of n.jamen., semi-in.ustrial poultry farmin. an. tradition.l poultry farmin. are practised in.ormally on.almost all poultry farms in.Chad. This type of poultry farmin. is faced with real health problems attributable to a lack of mon.torin. of the vaccin.tion.schedule, in.dequate complian.e with biosecurity measures an. poor application.of the Ichikawa rule based on.the 5 m’s. Objective: The aim of this article is to iden.ify the microorgan.sms respon.ible for con.amin.tion.of poultry farms in.the study area. method: The study was carried out from 28/04/2022 to 31/01/2023 on.the basis of 300 samples taken.from feed, drin.in. water, droppin.s an. scrapin.s from poultry housin. surfaces in.the 30 farms that served as a framework for our research. Samplin. was of the simple ran.om type, an. farms were selected on.the basis of the farmers’ con.en.. The data were recorded on.pre-established survey forms. Our study was cross-section.l, descriptive an. prospective. Bacteria were isolated usin. the referen.e method n. En.ISO 6579 for Salmon.lla spp. an. cultured on.the specific medium eosin.methylen. blue (EmB) for Escherichia coli, Pseudomon.s an. Citrobacter freun.ii. Results: The followin. results emerged from this study: Escherichia coli (5.33%), Pseudomon.s (1.33%), Citrobacter freun.ii (12%) an. Salmon.lla paratyphi (21.68%). Con.lusion. Of the 300 samples an.lysed, 121 (40.33%) were con.amin.ted with pathogen.. This high level of con.amin.tion.is a health problem. The study shows that biosecurity is less satisfactory on.the farms visited. n.vertheless, farms with a very satisfactory level of biosafety en.ure food safety an. variety for the population.
