Effects of Initial and Boundary Conditions on Heavy Rainfall Simulation over the Yellow Sea and the Korean Peninsula:Comparison of ECMWF and NCEP Analysis data Effects and Verification with dropsonde Observation

This study evaluated the simulation performance of mesoscale convective system(MCS)-induced precipitation,focusing on three selected cases that originated from the Yellow Sea and propagated toward the Korean *** evaluation was conducted for the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts(ECMWF)and National Centers for Environmental Prediction(NCEP)analysis data,as well as the simulation result using them as initial and lateral boundary conditions for the Weather Research and Forecasting ***,temperature and humidity profiles from 3d dropsonde observations from the National Center for Meteorological Science of the Korea Meteorological Administration served as validation *** showed that the ECMWF analysis consistently had smaller errors compared to the NCEP analysis,which exhibited a cold and dry bias in the lower levels below 850 *** model,in terms of the precipitation simulations,particularly for high-intensity precipitation over the Yellow Sea,demonstrated higher accuracy when applying ECMWF analysis data as the initial *** advantage also positively influenced the simulation of rainfall events on the Korean Peninsula by reasonably inducing convective-favorable thermodynamic features(i.e.,warm and humid lower-level atmosphere)over the Yellow *** conclusion,this study provides specific information about two global analysis datasets and their impacts on MCS-induced heavy rainfall simulation by employing dropsonde observation ***,it suggests the need to enhance the initial field for MCS-induced heavy rainfall simulation and the applicability of assimilating dropsonde data for this purpose in the future.

TRAIL and Celastrol Combinational Treatment Suppresses Proliferation, Migration, and Invasion of Human Glioblastoma Cells via Targeting Wnt/β-catenin Signaling Pathway

Objective To investigate the mechanistic basis for the anti-proliferation and anti-invasion effect of tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-induced ligand(TRAIL)and celastrol combination treatment(TCCT)in glioblastoma *** Cell counting kit-8 was used to detect the effects of different concentrations of celastrol(0-16µmol/L)and TRAIL(0-500 ng/mL)on the cell viability of glioblastoma cells.U87 cells were randomly divided into 4 groups,namely control,TRAIL(TRAIL 100 ng/mL),Cel(celastrol 0.5µmol/L)and TCCT(TRAIL 100 ng/mL+celastrol 0.5µmol/L).Cell proliferation,migration,and invasion were detected by colony formation,wound healing,and Transwell assays,*** reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and Western blotting were performed to assess the levels of epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)markers(zona occludens,N-cadherin,vimentin,zinc finger E-box-binding homeobox,Slug,and β-catenin).Wnt pathway was activated by lithium chloride(LiCl,20 mol/L)and the mechanism for action of TCCT was *** Celastrol and TRAIL synergistically inhibited the proliferation,migration,invasion,and EMT of U87 cells(Pd the expression of GSK-3β and down-regulated the expression of β-catenin and its associated proteins(Pding c-Myc,Cyclin-d1,and matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-*** addition,LiCl,an activator of the Wnt signaling pathway,restored the inhibitory effects of TCCT on the expression of β-catenin and its downstream genes,as well as the migration and invasion of glioblastoma cells(Pd TRAIL can synergistically suppress glioblastoma cell migration,invasion,and EMT,potentially through inhibition of Wnt/β-catenin *** underlies a novel mechanism of action for TCCT as an effective therapy for glioblastoma.

The development of portable X-ray detectors is necessary for diagnosing fractures in unconscious patients in emergency situations. However, this is quite challenging because of the heavy weight of the scintillator and silicon photodetectors. The weight and thickness of X-ray detectors can be reduced by replacing the silicon layer with an organic photodetectors. This study presents a novel bithienopyrroledione-based polymer donor that exhibits excellent photodetection properties even in a thick photoactive layer (similar to 700 nm), owing to the symmetric backbone and highly soluble molecular structure of bithienopyrroledione. The ability of bithienopyrroledione-based polymer donor to strongly suppress the dark current density (J(d) similar to 10(-10) A cm(-2)) at a negative bias (-2.0 V) while maintaining high responsivity (R = 0.29 A W-1) even at a thickness of 700 nm results in a maximum shot-noise-limited specific detectivity of d-sh* = 2.18 x 10(13) Jones in the organic photodetectors. Printed organic photodetectors are developed by slot-die coating for use in X-ray detectors, which exhibit d-sh* = 2.73 x 10(12) Jones with clear rising (0.26 s) and falling (0.29 s) response times upon X-ray irradiation. detection reliability is also proven by linear response of the X-ray detector, and the X-ray detection limit is 3 mA.

目的:评价血浆中胎盘源性细胞外囊泡(pcEV)及其清除蛋白乳凝集素(Lactadherin)预测重度子痫前期(sPE)患者妊娠不良结局的诊断性能。方法:回顾性病例对照研究。收集2018年1月31日至2019年1月31日产检并分娩妊娠27~37周诊断为sPE的患者60例,年龄32(29,36)岁,根据发生终点事件(胎儿窘迫和/或胎儿生长受限)情况,将sPE患者进一步分为事件组34例,无事件组26例。同孕周健康孕妇33例为孕妇对照组,年龄31(29,36)岁。非孕期健康女性25例为健康对照组,年龄26(25,38)岁。采用流式细胞仪检测胎盘碱性磷酸酶抗体阳性者为pcEV,同时膜表面表达磷脂酰丝氨酸者,即膜联蛋白V(AV)阳性为AV+pcEV。ELISA法检测Lactadherin水平。用Logistic回归做多元相关性分析,用受试者工作特征(ROC)曲线评价pcEV和Lactadherin预测妊娠不良结局的性能。用Kaplan-Meier曲线进行生存分析。用Cox比例风险回归模型计算风险比(HR)。结果:sPE组血浆AV+pcEV水平为8260(4991,16751)个/μl,高于健康孕妇组的1088(784,1871)个/μl和健康对照组的206(116,256)个/μl(H=94.490,Pdherin为2635(1876,3137)pg/ml,高于健康孕妇组的1597(1287,1818)pg/ml和健康对照组的1123(749,1405)pg/ml(H=54.307,Pd内发生胎儿窘迫和/或胎儿生长受限事件的临界值为6524个/μl时,曲线下面积(AUC)为0.799(95%CI 0.680~0.917)。Lactadherin预测的临界值为2336.5 pg/ml时,AUC为0.702(95%CI 0.564~0.841)。Logistic回归分析显示,sPE患者AV+pcEV水平与患者24 h尿蛋白定量(OR=9.288,95%CI 1.993~43.293)以及患者是否需要联合用药降压治疗(OR=18.690,95%CI 1.919~182.077)有相关性(Pd内的发生胎儿窘迫和/或胎儿生长受限事件的累积概率增高(Log-rankχ^(2)=21.430,P<0.05)。Cox比例回归模型显示AV+pcEV水平可独立识别胎儿窘迫和/或胎儿生长受限事件(HR=7.983,P<0.05)。结论:妊娠晚期孕妇血浆中pcEV水平变化与PE病情发展相关,高浓度pcEV提示胎儿窘迫、胎儿生长受限风险增加,可作为预警不良妊娠结局的有效标志物。

Perovskite solar cells(PSCs)have made great advances in terms of power conversion efficiency(PCE),yet their subpar stability continues to hinder their *** interface between the perovskite layer and the charge-carrier transporting layers plays a crucial role in undermining the stability of *** this work,we propose a strategy to stabilize high-performance PSCs with PCE over 23%by introducing a cesium-doped graphene oxide(GO-Cs)as an interlayer between the perovskite and hole-transporting *** GO-Cs treated PSCs exhibit excellent operational stability with a projected T80(the time where the device PCE reduces to 80%of its initial value)of 2143 h of operation at the maximum powering point under one sun illumination.

Assessment of Nitrates and Nitrites in Borehole Water from the Southern and the Northern Region of Côte d’Ivoire (West Africa)

This study aimed to evaluate the quality of water from village boreholes by measuring physicochemical parameters such as nitrates, nitrites, and total organic carbon (TOC). Forty-five (45) village pumps from the Southern (Basse Côte) and the Northern (Korhogo) region of Cte d’Ivoire (west Africa) were sampled. Physicochemical parameters such as temperature, pH, conductivity at 25˚C, and turbidity were determined in situ, while nitrite and nitrate were analyzed according to ISO 10304-1 (2007) standard and total organic carbon (TOC) by NF EN 1484 (1997) standard. The results showed that the borehole waters of the Basse Côte and Korhogo analyzed are acidic, with an average temperature of 27.51˚C ± 0.16˚C and 29.95˚C ± 0.51˚C respectively for the Basse Côte and Korhogo regions. The borehole waters of the Basse Côtedo not contain nitrites, while those of Korhogo have average nitrite contents of 0.32 mg/l. The average nitrate rate in the waters of the Basse Côte and Korhogo are 12.08 ± 2.11 mg/l and 11.03 ± 3.18 mg/l respectively. The average TOC concentration of the waters of the Basse Côte is 1.28 ± 0.32 mg/l and that of Korhogo is 0.56 ± 0.09 mg/L. The study showed that the borehole waters of the Basse Côte and Korhogo have average temperatures between 27.4˚C and 29.95˚C with a slightly acidic pH value and acceptable salinity. The TOC concentrations obtained at the different sampling points were all below the French standard (2 mg/L) except for certains pumps of the Basse Côte. The water samples from the Basse Côte were devoid of nitrite. On the other hand, those from Korhogo revealed the presence of nitrite. Also, the borehole waters of the regions of the Basse Côte and Korhogo contain relatively high nitrate contents, presumably due to anthropometric activity. Overall, our study on the quality of drinking water showed that the waters analyzed are in compliance with international standards and safe for consumption.

Alleviating vibrations along a harmonically driven nonuniform Euler-Bernoulli beam by imposing nodes

A passive approach is developed to quench excess vibration along a harmonically driven,arbitrarily supported,nonuniform Euler-Bernoulli beam with constant thickness(height)and varying *** suppression is achieved by attaching properly tuned vibration absorbers to enforce nodes,or points of zero vibration,along the *** efficient hybrid method is proposed whereby the finite element method is used to model the nonuniform beams,and a formulation based on the assumed modes method is used to determine the required attachment force supplied by each absorber to induce the desired *** the attachment forces needed to induce nodes,design plots are generated for the absorber parameters as a function of the tolerable vibration amplitude for each absorber *** the node locations are judiciously chosen,it is possible to dramatically suppress the vibration along a selected region of the *** such,sensitive instruments can be placed in this region and will remain nearly *** studies illustrate the application to several systems with various types of nonuniformity,boundary conditions,and attachment and node locations;these examples validate the proposed method to passively control excess vibration by inducing nodes on nonuniform beams subjected to harmonic excitations.

Enhanced thermoelectric performance of spark plasma sintered p-type Ca_(3-x)Y_(x)Co_(4)O_(9+δ)systems

Highly textured dense Ca3-xYxCo4 O9+δ(0≤x≤0.3)samples were fabricated by combining sol-gel process with spark plasma sintering(SPS).Y^3+substitution for Ca^2+simultaneously increased the Seebeck coefficient and reduced the thermal *** latter was attributed to the increase in lattice anharmonicity,structural distortion,and grain boundary area,which enhanced the phonon ***2.7Y0.3Co4 O9+δshowed the largest dimensionless figure-of-merit(ZT=0.194)at 1073 K because it had the largest Seebeck coefficient and the lowest thermal *** ZT value was 55%larger than that of undoped Ca3 Co4 O9(0.125 at 1073 K).Therefore,Y^3+substitution,sol-gel powder synthesis,and SPS are highly effective for enhancing the thermoelectric prope rties of Ca_(3)Co_(4)O_(9).
