Pulmonary renal syndrome (PRS) is a high mortality, rare disorder presenting with diffuse alveolar hemorrhage and progressive acute glomerulonephritis. This syndrome is often caused by autoimmune entities, the most frequent being ANCA positive vasculitis and anti-GBm disease. We report a case of a 34-year-old Chilean woman, who initially presents with anemia and after a few days of inpatient management, starts with progressively worsening dyspnea, decrease in renal function and hematuria. The patient is initially diagnosed with pneumonia, but further evaluation using Thorax CT scan and renal biopsy confirms the suspicion of PRS. The case is of particular interest due to the lack of extensive bibliography on anti-GBm and ANCA negative pulmonary-renal syndrome, an uncategorized subtype of this syndrome with unknown optimal management.

In this study the novel hydrogel loaded with gold nanoparticle (AuNP) enhanced the berberine (BS) release when compared with other formulations of hydrogel. Hydrogels are hydrophilic polymer networks having the capacity to absorb water, ranging from about twenty to thousand times their dry weight. BS is a natural product, a quaternary ammonium salt from the group of isoquinoline alkaloids found in medicinal plants as Berberis Vulgaris. BS has some activity against dysentery, hypertension, inflammation, and liver disease in China and Japan. In this work, BS was used as a model drug to study its association with different types of hydrogel composites of polyvinyl alcohol (BS-PVA 10%);gellan gum (BS-GG 2%), gellan gum-PVA crosslinked with cysteine (cys) (BSGG2%PVA2%cys) and gellan gum-PVA cosslinked with cysteine associated with gold nanoparticles (AuNP-BSGG2%PVA2%cys). Several parameters such as fraction of retained water (Wf), hydration percentage (%H), Swelling (DSw) and time course profile (t = 100%) (TC) were evaluated for all preparations. The results showed that the AuNP-BS-GG2%PVA2%cys was able to retain more water and swelling than the other preparations. The time course of release of the BS to the medium was greater for AuNP-BS-GG2%PVA2%cys making it a candidate to drug delivery studies in biological assays. Also Scanning Electron microscopy (SEm) images of the surface of these hydrogel were performed. Furthermore, crosslink of the resulting hydrogels were investigated by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Thus, briefly, the aim of this work was to study three composition of hydrogel loaded with BS and its composition in relation to addition to AuNP and evaluate its profile for further drug delivery application using the Surface Plasmonic Resonance (SPR) as a tool improving the drug release in the new hydrogel.

The physiographic characterization of a basin is a fundamental element as it defines the hydrological behavior of that basin. The present work deals with the development and implementation of a tool that allows calculating in an automated manner the physiographic parameters of a basin, as well as those of the surface runoff and main river, besides other graphic elements: hypsometric curve, equivalent rectangle and profile of the main river. Such a tool was developed under Visual Basic 6 programming language and the spatial geographic component ArcObjects by ESRI;they enabled the development of a library as a final product (.dll), which can be loaded and implemented in Arcmap software. In the methodology a Conceptual model was established, from which it was possible to identify the requirements and methods to obtain the parameters, as well as the conception and implementation of the Logical model that includes the specific functions and also the input structures, processes and data output. Finally, the tool was tested with actual data from El Caracol river basin, located in central-southern mexico, which showed the easiness and usefulness of it, besides the effectiveness of the results, not leaving aside the time and resources saved by the user when characterizing a basin, compared with other conventional processes.

Separability Analysis of Atlantic Forest Patches by Comparing Parametric and Non-Parametric Image Classification Algorithms

The aim of this work was to differentiate Atlantic Forest patches, as well as their spatial distribution, from other tree covers that compose the landscape, by comparing three methods of digital images classification, using techniques of geoprocessing and remote sensing. The study area was a sub-basin of the Iperó River, tributary of the Iperó-mirim stream, Sarapuí River basin, in Araçoiaba da Serra, State of São Paulo, Brazil. This research has been developed on a Geographic Information System environment platform, using medium resolution images from Sentinel-2 Satellite. Three image classification algorithms: maximum Likelihood Classification (mLC), Support Vector machines (SVm) and Random Tree (RT) were applied to verify the separability of forest patches, forestry and other uses. The results were analyzed by means of a confusion matrix, accuracy and kappa index, thus showing that the three algorithms were able to successfully differentiate the targets, with the higher efficiency attributed to mLC and the lowest to RT. Overall, the three classifiers presented errors, but specifically for the forest patches, the highest accuracy was obtained from SVm.

　目的　用超声心动图二维、m型、彩色多普勒及脉冲多普勒组织成像(PW DTI)等方法对小儿心脏移植术后非排异期心脏的结构、形态、血流、功能等状态进行综合评价,重点探讨 PW DTI对小儿心脏移植术后非排异期心功能评价的意义。方法　移植组和对照组各 36 例,应用超声心动图、PW DTI测量左室舒张末期内径,室间隔厚度,左室后壁厚度,左室质量,左室短轴缩短率,二、三尖瓣前向血流舒张早、晚期峰值速率及心率;将PW DTI取样容积置于二尖瓣瓣环水平左室侧壁、室间隔及三尖瓣环水平右室壁采样,获取收缩期和舒张早、晚期PW DTI运动速度曲线。结果　移植组的所有 PW DTI速度曲线参数均较对照组低。二尖瓣瓣环水平左室侧壁舒张早期峰值速率,室间隔及三尖瓣环收缩期峰值速率,舒张早、晚期峰值速率与对照组差异有显著性意义;而其他指标移植组与对照组基本相同。结论　PW DTI速度曲线参数的结果提示心脏移植术后非排异期患儿在常用的心功能指标测值正常时,已存在右室收缩、舒张功能及左室舒张功能的减低,以右心功能减低为明显。PW DTI是一种敏感、简便的测量小儿心脏移植后左、右心功能的方法。

The m8.8 Chilean earthquake of February 27,2010 caused a large surface displacement near its *** Laser Ranging(SLR) station 7405,cooperatively operated by Germany and Chile about 130 km from the epicenter was affected by the *** SLR station,No.7406,operated jointly by the National Astronomical Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and San Juan University of Argentina,was about 600 km from the *** the observations of these two SLR stations with global SLR station observations,we calculate the geocentric coordinates of the two stations based on *** results show that the coordinates of the two stations have changed by varying ***-7405 moved substantially towards the southwest with displacements of about 3.11,0.52 and 0.49 m in X,Y,Z directions;the corresponding displacements for SLR-7406 are about 0.02,0.03 and 0.02 *** solution,as an independent result derived from SLR observations,could provide an essential external check for other positioning techniques such as GPS.

Background: HPV infection represents an important etiologic factor for Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (OPSCC). The different ethnic backgrounds could be related to different susceptibility to Human Papillomavirus (HPV). The aim of our study was to assess the whole of genetic ancestry in HPV status in OPSCC patients. methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study on patients with OPSCC admitted to the Barretos Cancer Hospital, Brazil from 2014 to 2019. Of these, DNA extraction was performed on 40 patients and genetic ancestry was assessed using a specific panel of 46 informative ancestry markers. Results: We observed a predominance of European ancestry (63%), followed by African (18%), Amerindian (9%) and Asian (8%) both in the OPSCC HPV-positive and HPV-negative group. We did not find any statistically significant differences between the HPV-positive and HPV-negative OPSCC groups in relation to European (p = 0.499), African (p = 0.448), Asian (p = 0.275) or Amerindian (p = 0.836) ancestry. Conclusions: We found a predominance of European ancestry, both in the HPV-positive and HPV-negative groups. In our study, we did not find statistically significant differences between HPV-positive or HPV-negative groups in relation to ancestry.

Fluoride Exposure Compromises Gas Exchange of Plants

Fluorine (F-) stands out for its phytotoxic potential, because it accumulates in plants, changes enzymes activity, reduces chlorophyll content and, consequently, affects growth and yield of crop plants. An experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of F- on leaf gas exchange in coffee and sweet orange plants, compared to sensitive (gladiolus) and tolerant (ryegrass) reference species. Plants grown in pots were exposed to F- in a semi-open mist chamber. The experimental design was completely randomized with treatments defined by the combination of plant species and two intensities of exposure to atmospheric F, with nebulization of HF solutions (low = 0.065 mmol·m-3 and high = 0.260 mmol·m-3) in a mist chamber, as well as with non-exposed control samples. CO2 assimilation (A), transpiration (E), stomatal conductance (gs) and chlorophyll fluorescence rates were measured after 27 days of treatment application. The leaf gas exchange variables in ryegrass and orange plants did not vary in response to the increase in atmospheric F, while an increase in gs and E values was observed in gladiolus and coffee plants. A decrease in A and potential quantum efficiency of photosystem II (Fv/Fm) was found for gladiolus plants. On the contrary, an increase of A for coffee plants was associated with the apparent effect previously reported about the loss of leaf stomatal regulation related to the short assessment period of plants in this experiment. Damages caused to the photosynthetic system were reflected in the susceptibility of the evaluated species to the contamination by the element.
