Background:This study aimed to determine the effect of different carbohydrate(CHO)doses on exercise capacity in patients with McArdle disease—the paradigm of“exercise intolerance”,characterized by complete muscle glycogen unavailability—and to determine whether higher exogenous glucose levels affect metabolic responses at the McArdle muscle cell(in vitro)***:Patients with McArdle disease(n=8)and healthy controls(n=9)underwent a 12-min submaximal cycling constant-load bout followed by a maximal ramp test 15 min after ingesting a non-caloric *** a randomized,double-blinded,cross-over design,patients repeated the tests after consuming either 75 g or 150 g of CHO(glucose:fructose=2:1).Cardiorespiratory,biochemical,perceptual,and electromyographic(EMG)variables were ***,glucose uptake and lactate appearance were studied in vitro in wild-type and McArdle mouse myotubes cultured with increasing glucose concentrations(0.35,1.00,4.50,and 10.00 g/L).Results:Compared with controls,patients showed the“classical”second-wind phenomenon(after prior disproportionate tachycardia,myalgia,and excess electromyographic activity during submaximal exercise,all p<0.05)and an impaired endurance exercise capacity(-51%ventilatory threshold and55%peak power output,both p<0.001).Regardless of the CHO dose(p<0.05 for both doses compared with the placebo),CHO intake increased blood glucose and lactate levels,decreased fat oxidation rates,and attenuated the second wind in the ***,only the higher dose increased ventilatory threshold(+27%,p=0.010)and peak power output(+18%,p=0.007).In vitro analyses revealed no differences in lactate levels across glucose concentrations in wild-type myotubes,whereas a doseresponse effect was observed in McArdle ***:CHO intake exerts beneficial effects on exercise capacity in McArdle disease,a condition associated with total muscle glycogen *** of these benefits are dose dependent.

针对群养猪攻击过程中身体形变和重叠影响猪身份识别精度的问题,开发一种基于注意力机制和自适应特征融合的深度学习方法以提高猪身份识别精度。录制猪栏中8只猪每天8小时共3天的视频,并筛选含攻击的16830帧作为数据集。首先,采用ResNet50提取猪的卷积神经网络(CNN)特征;然后,采用特征金字塔网络(FPN)在ResNet50中选择3层不同尺度的特征,以优化这些特征的定位和语义信息;接着,采用自注意力机制提高这些特征的区分度,并采用自适应空间特征融合(ASFF)以融合不同尺度的特征;最后,利用卷积和Sigmoid函数相结合的检测器对猪身份进行识别。使用该方法后,猪身份识别的均值平均精度(mAP)达到95.59%,速度达到37.6 f/s。结果表明,该方法能够在攻击场景下有效识别猪身份,有助于将攻击识别从群体级细化为个体级。

The complex relationship between multiple drug resistance and the tumor pH gradient:a review

Multiple drug resistance(MDR)is the tumor’s way of escaping the cytotoxic effects of various unrelated chemotherapeutic *** can be either innate or *** represents the end of the therapeutic pathway,and it practically leaves no treatment *** MDR is an unfulfilled goal,despite the important recent advances in cancer ***,the main cause of death in cancer patients,is a multi-factorial development,and most of its known causes have been thoroughly discussed in the ***,there is one aspect that has not received adequate consideration-intracellular alkalosis-which is part of wider pH deregulation where the pH gradient is inverted,meaning that extracellular pH is decreased and intracellular pH *** situation interacts with MDR and with the proteins involved,such as P-gp,breast cancer resistance protein,and multidrug associated resistance protein ***,there are also situations in which these proteins play no role at all,and where pH takes the *** is the case in ion *** the pH gradient to normal can be an important contribution to managing *** drugs to manipulate pH exist,and most of them are FDA approved and in clinical use for other ***,they have low or no toxicity and are inexpensive compared with any chemotherapeutic *** these drugs and combining them in a reasonable fashion is one of the points proposed in this paper,which discusses the relationship between cancer’s peculiar pH and MDR.

Conversion of CO_(2)to added value products via rWGS using Fe-promoted catalysts:Carbide,metallic Fe or a mixture?

Fe-based catalysts are efficient systems for CO_(2)conversion via reverse water-gas shift(rWGS)***,the nature of the active phase,namely metallic iron,iron oxide or iron carbide remains a subject of debate which our paper is meant to ***0 is a much better catalyst for the rWGS than Fe_(3)*** activity of Fe0 can be promoted by the addition of Cs and Cu whose presence hinders iron carburisation while favouring both higher conversion and enhanced *** the samples are aged in the rWGS reaction mixture during stability test a new phase appear:Fe_(5)C_(2),resulting in a more active but less selective catalysts than Fe0 for the rWGS *** our results indicate that we could potentially achieve an optimal activity/selective balance upon finely tuning the proportion Fe/Fe_(5)C_(2).Beyond the fundamental information concerning active phase we have observed the presence of advanced Fischer-Tropsch-like products at ambient pressure opening new opportunities for the design of hybrid rWGS/Fischer-Tropsch systems.

Rice is the staple food of more than half of the world's population,and major efforts are being made to improve rice *** yield is mainly determined by three components:number of panicles per plant,number of grains per panicle,and grain weight,which is positively associated with grain ***,grain size is an important agricultural trait for yield improvement in rice,and it is controlled by multiple genetic factors and environmental cues(Li et al.,2018).The final size of rice grains is largely determined by cell proliferation and cell expansion in the spikelet hull(husk),which sets the storage capacity of the grain and limits grain filling(Li et al.,2018).A number of quantitative trait loci for grain size have been identified and their underlying molecular functions *** include,for example,protein ubiquitination,chromatin modifications,transcription factors,RNA-mediated regulatory networks,and multiple plant hormones(Li and Li,2016).Among the plant hormones,brassinosteroids and cytokinin play pivotal roles in grain size ***,Liu et al.(2021)reported the discovery of an unexpected novel link between the brassinosteroid and the cytokinin signaling pathways with a major impact on rice grain size.

This essay explores recent incursions into comparative modalities and highlights how global comparative literature better reflects the ways in which borders and mobility have become definingelementsof ***,thehumanities *** openings towards decolonizing the curriculum and strengtheningsynergies between various social justice approaches may prove fruitfulin coordinating *** and historical circumstances are such that it has become increasingly hard to think of literary traditions in monolithic terms since globalization has dramatically transformed the circulation of literary works In our understanding,a comparativist is not necessarily invested either in demonstrating the intrinsic connections between cultural or literary objects as traditional practitioners of comparative literature have been,or committed to disclosing incommensurable differences,as postcolonial comparativists have been Instead,the comparative frame of mind is defined by the fundamental insight that any cultural product or production is inherently heterogeneous and hence requires no external object of comparison Put otherwise,a comparative frame of mind does not require the co-presence of two or more cultural or literary archives in practicing comparative literature,for any single object can be read in relation to,oreven against,***,languagesarenot,andshould notbeconsidered monolithic entities Rather,they are historical containers,mobile vessels that transport perpetually evolving references and symbols across borders,the portals and vectors that allow for multi-dimensional cultural and linguistic *** therefore argue that the persistent privileging of multi-lingual fluency as the raison d'etre of comparative literature needs to be relinquished,and that instead one needs to embrace the idea that one can bea comparatist withinasingle *** other words,we argue that comparison is as relevant within diverse nation
