In Situ mineralization of Biomass-Derived hydrogels Boosts Capacitive Electrochemical Energy Storage in Free-Standing 3D Carbon Aerogels

here,a novel fabrication method for making free-standing 3D hierarchical porous carbon aerogels from molecularly engineered biomass-derived hydrogels is *** situ formed flower-like CaCO_(3)molecularly embedded within the hydrogel network regulated the pore structure during in situ mineralization assisted one-step activation graphitization(imAG),while the intrinsic structural integrity of the carbon aerogels was *** homogenously distributed minerals simultaneously acted as a hard template,activating agent,and graphitization *** decomposition of the homogenously distributed CaCO_(3)during imAG followed by the etching of residual CaO through a mild acid washing endowed a robust carbon aerogel with high porosity and excellent electrochemical *** 0.5 mA cm^(-2),the gravimetric capacitance increased from 0.01 F g^(-1)without mineralization to 322 F g^(-1)with imAG,which exceeds values reported for any other free-standing or powder-based biomass-derived carbon *** outstanding cycling stability of~104%after 1000 cycles in 1 m hClO4 was *** assembled symmetric supercapacitor device delivered a high specific capacitance of 376 F g^(-1)and a high energy density of 26 W h kg^(-1)at a power density of 4000 W kg^(-1),with excellent cycling performance(98.5%retention after 2000 cycles).In combination with the proposed 3D printed mold-assisted solution casting(3DmASC),imAG allows for the generation of free-standing carbon aerogel architectures with arbitrary ***,the novel method introduces flexibility in constructing free-standing carbon aerogels from any ionically cross-linkable biopolymer while maintaining the ability to tailor the design,dimensions,and pore size distribution for specific energy storage applications.

Effect of Initial Grain Size on the hot Deformation Behavior and microstructural Evolution of Pure Copper

The influences of initial grain size(IGS)with 20μm and 50μm on the hot flow behavior and microstructural changes of pure copper were investigated using hot compression tests at a temperature range of 623–1073 K and strain rate range of 0.001–0.1 s^(-1).The effects of critical stress and corresponding critical strain were studied based on the internal and external processing *** critical stress and strain decreased with increasing temperature and decreasing strain *** investigation results of the microstructure and true strain–stress diagrams showed that dynamic recovery,dynamic recrystallization(DRX),and twinning mechanisms were caused during the hot deformation of pure *** evolution indicated some DRXed fine-grain took place around grain boundary of hot deformed samples with IGS of 20μm whereas DRXed fine-grain took place in interior grains for samples with larger *** results also showed that grain growth is also dependent on IGS as the grain growth rate for samples with the larger IGS is greater than the smaller *** critical strain rate and the temperature were obtained at 0.01 s^(-1) and 973 K,respectively,for the sudden change in the grain growth ***,twinning highly depended on IGS which almost did not happen in fine grain size while the volume fraction of twinning increased with increasing grain size.

Effect of ECAP consolidation temperature on the microstructure and mechanical properties of Al-Cu-Ti metallic glass reinforced aluminum matrix composite

Al;Cu;Ti;metallic glass（AmG） reinforced Al matrix composites were consolidated by equal channel angular pressing（ECAP） process. The effects of ECAP consolidation temperature ranging from room temperature to just below the first crystallization temperature of metallic glass on the consolidation of composites were investigated in terms of the relative densities, structural evolutions and mechanical properties of composites. Some intermetallic compounds included Al;CuTi;, Al;Ti and Al;Cu;precipitated from metallic glass particles at consolidation temperature of 300?C. Consolidation temperature did not affect the matrix grains size of the composite. Quantitative analysis revealed that the distribution of reinforcing particles was considerably dependent on consolidation temperature. Density of the composite was increased by increasing the consolidation temperature to 250?C. The composite consolidated at250?C through ECAP process, exhibited the best combination of yield strength and ductility of 184 mPa and 48%, respectively.

Preparation and thermal treatment of Pd/Ag composite membrane on a porousα-alumina tube by sequential electroless plating technique for h_2 separation

Pd/Ag/α-Al2O3 composite membranes were prepared by sequential electroless plating technique. The prepared membranes were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）, scanning electron microscopy （SEm）, energy dispersive spectroscopy, and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy techniques （ICP-AES）. Effects of annealing time, Ag content, and air treatment on the hydrogen permeation flux and morphology of the alloys were investigated. The results of the investigation showed that the prepared type of tube had a good potential as substrate for membrane preparation. In addition, a uniform defect-free alloy was prepared by annealing at 550 ℃ in h2 atmosphere. The permeation results showed an increase in h2 permeation flux by increasing the Ag content and the annealing time. In addition, the air treatment of the prepared membranes at 400 ℃ for 1 h changed the morphology of the alloy and substantially enhanced the hydrogen flux.

Benzene degradation in waste gas by photolysis and photolysis-ozonation： experiments and modeling

The degradation of benzene, a carcinogenic air pollutant, was studied in a gas-phase photochemical reactor with an amalgam lamp emitting ultraviolet light at 185 and 254 nm. Efficient benzene degradation （〉70%） was possible for benzene mass flow rates of up to 1.5 ***1. Adding ozone allowed benzene mass flow rates of up to 5 m ***-1 tobe treated with the same efficiency. In terms of energy consumption, ozone doubles the efficiency of the process. A comprenenslve mecnanisnc simulation model was developed incorporating a chemical kinetics model （62 reactions involving 47 chemical species）, a material balance model incorporating diffusion and flow, a flow velocity model,and a light field model. The model successfully predicted the efficiency of the reactor, generally within 20%, which indicates that the model is sound, and can be used for feasibility studies. The prediction of the reactor efficiency in the presence of ozone was less successful, with systematically overestimated efficiency. Condensation of reaction products in the reactor is thought to be the mare cause of model inaccuracy. Both experimental .data and model predictions show that there is a synergistic effect between ozonation and ultraviolet degradation.

New constitutive equation utilizing grain size for modeling of hot deformation behavior of AA1070 aluminum

A new phenomenological and empirically-based constitutive model was proposed to modify the term in the original Johnson−Cook constitutive *** new model can be used to describe and predict the flow stress of AA1070 aluminum with different initial grain sizes in the hot working *** developed model considers thermal softening,strain-rate hardening,strain hardening,initial grain size,and interactions with each other and can correctly model the behavior of AA1070 at elevated temperature with different strains,strain rates,and initial grain *** hot flow behavior of AA1070 was investigated through compression tests over wide ranges of temperature from 623 to 773 K,strain rate from 0.005 to 0.5 s−1 and initial grain size from 50 to 450μ*** show that the initial grain size has a significant effect on the flow behavior of ***,correlation coefficient(R),average absolute relative error(AARE),and relative error were examined for comparative predictability of the *** show that flow stresses for different initial grain sizes calculated by the new proposed model perfectly correlate with experimental ones,with a mean relative error of 1.19%,which confirms that the new modified Johnson−Cook relation can give a precise estimation of the hot flow stress of AA1070 aluminum by considering the initial grain size.

The Cobourg limestone is a very low porosity rock consisting of lighter nodular regions that are predominantly calcite and darker regions consisting of calcite,quartz,dolomite,and an appreciable clay *** paper presents the application of the theory of multi-phasic composites to estimate the possible maximum effective thermal conductivity of the heterogeneous *** thermal conductivity estimates are expected to be representative of the intact rock,without fractures or fissures that can influence the heat conduction *** estimates are therefore indicative of the thermal properties of the rock in undisturbed regions unaffected by the influences of stress relief and excavation damage during construction of deep ground repositories for the disposal of heat-emitting nuclear waste.

Syngas Production by methane Reforming with Carbon Dioxide on Noble metal Catalysts

A series of noble metal catalysts （Ru, Rh, Ir, Pt, and Pd） supported on alumina-stabilized magnesia （Spinel） were used to produce syngas by methane reforming with carbon dioxide. The synthesized catalysts were characterized using BET, TPR, TPO, TPh, and h2S chemisorption techniques. The activity results showed high activity and stability for the Ru and Rh catalysts. The TPO and TPh analyses indicated that the main reason for lower activity and stability of the Pd catalyst was the formation of the less reactive deposited carbon and sintering of the catalyst.

Protein Based Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance Gas Sensing

We apply the localized surface plasrnon resonance （LSPR） of gold nanoparticles （GNPs） covalently coupled with cytochrorne c （cyt c） to create a nanobiosensor for detecting hydrogen sulfide （h2S） in the range of 15 lOOppb. monolayer formation of GNPs on glass surface functionalized with 3-aminopropyltrirnethoxysilane （APTmS） is performed for fabricating a chip-based format of the optical transducer. By chemical introduction of short-chain thiol derivatives on cyt c protein shell via its lysine residues, a very fast self-assembled rnonolayer （SAm） of cyt c is formed on the GNPs. Significant shifts in the LSPR peak （△λLSPR） are observed by reacting h2S with cyt c. Results show a linear relationship between △λLSPR and h2S concentration. Furthermore, shifts in the LSPR peak are reversible and the peak positions return to their pre-exposure values once the h2S is removed. The experirnental results strongly indicate that the protein based LSPR chip can be successfully used as a simple, fast, sensitive and quantitative sensor for h2S detection.

A novel method for thermodynamic study on binding of copper ion with Alzheimer’s amyliod β peptide

The interaction of Cu2+ with the first 16 residues of the Alzheimer's amyliod β peptide, Aβ (1-16), was studied by employing isothermal titration calorimetry at ph 7.2 and 37℃ in aqueous solution. The Gholamreza rezaei Behbehani (GRB) solvation model was used to reproduce the enthalpies of Cu2++ Aβ(1-16) interaction over the whole Cu2+ concentrations. The binding parameters recovered from the solvation model were attributed to the structural change of Aβ (1-16) due to the metal ion interaction. It was found that there is a set of two identical and non interacting binding sites for Cu2+ ions. The molar enthalpy of binding is Δh=27.895 kJ/mol. The association binding constants are 1.895 μm-1 and 1.891 μm-1 for the first and second binding sites respectively.
