Effect of post-harvest UV-C irradiation and calcium chloride on enzymatic activity and decay of tomato(Lycopersicon esculentum L.)fruit during storage

Tomato is one of the extensively consumed vegetable crops worldwide. The regular consumption of tomato decreases the incidence of chronic degenerative diseases such as certain types of cancer and cardiovascular diseases. The objective of this study was to find an appropriate method that not only reduces tomatoes decay, but also maintains its post-harvest quality. A factorial experiment based on randomized complete block design with three replications was conducted to evaluate effects of ultraviolet（UV）-C and CaCl_2 applications on tomato during storage. The traits studied included ethylene, polygalacturonase（PG） activity, pectin methyl esterase（PME） activity, firmness, total phenol content, and fungal-induced decay were measured weekly during 35 days of storage. Both UV-C and CaCl_2 treatments had positive effects on tomato quality as compared to control treatment. The 3 and 4.5 k J m^（-2） levels of UV-C and 2% CaCl_2 had positive effects on quality characteristics, respectivly. Fruits treated by UV-C and CaCl_2 had higher phenol and firmness, and less PME activity, PG activity, ethylene production, and decay than the control fruits. In conclusion, increasing in storage duration significantly affected the fruits quality by increasing in ethylene, PME activity, PG activity, decay and decreasing the phenol content and firmness. But UV-C and CaCl_2 led to significant decrease in this adverse impact relative to control treatment.

Hyperspectral(HS)image classification plays a crucial role in numerous areas including remote sensing(RS),agriculture,and the monitoring of the *** band selection in HS images is crucial for improving the efficiency and accuracy of image *** process involves selecting the most informative spectral bands,which leads to a reduction in data *** on these key bands also enhances the accuracy of classification algorithms,as redundant or irrelevant bands,which can introduce noise and lower model performance,are *** this paper,we propose an approach for HS image classification using deep Q learning(DQL)and a novel multi-objective binary grey wolf optimizer(MOBGWO).We investigate the MOBGWO for optimal band selection to further enhance the accuracy of HS image *** the suggested MOBGWO,a new sigmoid function is introduced as a transfer function to modify the wolves’*** primary objective of this classification is to reduce the number of bands while maximizing classification *** evaluate the effectiveness of our approach,we conducted experiments on publicly available HS image datasets,including Pavia University,Washington Mall,and Indian Pines *** compared the performance of our proposed method with several state-of-the-art deep learning(DL)and machine learning(ML)algorithms,including long short-term memory(LSTM),deep neural network(DNN),recurrent neural network(RNN),support vector machine(SVM),and random forest(RF).Our experimental results demonstrate that the Hybrid MOBGWO-DQL significantly improves classification accuracy compared to traditional optimization and DL ***-DQL shows greater accuracy in classifying most categories in both datasets *** the Indian Pine dataset,the MOBGWO-DQL architecture achieved a kappa coefficient(KC)of 97.68%and an overall accuracy(OA)of 94.32%.This was accompanied by the lowest root mean square error(RMSE)of 0.94,indicating very precise

Formany years,researchers have explored power allocation(PA)algorithms driven bymodels in wireless networks where multiple-user communications with interference are ***,data-driven machine learning methods have become quite popular in analyzing wireless communication systems,which among them deep reinforcement learning(DRL)has a significant role in solving optimization issues under certain *** this purpose,in this paper,we investigate the PA problem in a k-user multiple access channels(MAC),where k transmitters(e.g.,mobile users)aim to send an independent message to a common receiver(e.g.,base station)through wireless *** this end,we first train the deep Q network(DQN)with a deep Q learning(DQL)algorithm over the simulation environment,utilizing offline ***,the DQN will be used with the real data in the online training method for the PA issue by maximizing the sumrate subjected to the source ***,the simulation results indicate that our proposedDQNmethod provides better performance in terms of the sumrate compared with the available DQL training approaches such as fractional programming(FP)and weighted minimum mean squared error(WMMSE).Additionally,by considering different user densities,we show that our proposed DQN outperforms benchmark algorithms,thereby,a good generalization ability is verified over wireless multi-user communication systems.

采用十二烷基硫酸钠(SDS)表面活性剂和SiO_(2)纳米颗粒作为发泡体系,在不同原油沥青质含量下进行泡沫稳定性实验,测量CO_(2)泡沫半衰期;采用扫描电子显微图像、紫外分光光度法测试和Zeta电位测量,分析沥青质降低CO_(2)泡沫稳定性的机理。研究表明:当合成油与发泡体系质量比为1∶9时,合成油沥青质质量分数从0增至15%,SDS稳定泡沫半衰期从751 s减少至239 s,SDS-SiO_(2)稳定泡沫半衰期从912 s缩短至298 s;当合成油与发泡体系质量比为2∶8时,随着沥青质质量分数增大,SDS稳定泡沫半衰期从526 s缩短至171 s,SDS-SiO_(2)稳定泡沫半衰期从660 s缩短至205 s。由于沥青质与SDS和SiO_(2)纳米颗粒在水相中的相互作用,Zeta电位绝对值减小,颗粒表面电荷降低,导致薄液膜两侧界面之间的排斥力减小,从而破坏泡沫稳定性。

Exponential B-spline collocation method for numerical solution of the generalized regularized long wave equation

The aim of the present paper is to present a numerical algorithm for the time-dependent generalized regularized long wave equation with boundary conditions. We semi-discretize the continuous problem by means of the Crank-Nicolson finite difference method in the temporal direction and exponential B-spline collocation method in the spatial direction. The method is shown to be unconditionally stable. It is shown that the method is convergent with an order of θ（k2 ＋ h2）. Our scheme leads to a tri-diagonal nonlinear system. This new method has lower computational cost in comparison to the Sinc-collocation method. Finally, numerical examples demonstrate the stability and accuracy of this method.

In this study the Zweifach-Fung effect is investigated in a Y-shaped bifurcation when the clearance between the rigid spherical particle and the walls is small compared to both channel’s and particle’s ***-and two-particle systems are studied using resolved computational fluid dynamics coupled to discrete element method to obtain a two-dimensional map of the initially positioned particles that would enter each child *** all cases,the path selection of the sphere depends on its two-dimensional positioning far from the bifurcation region in the parent *** the flow rate ratio or decreasing the Reynolds number intensifies the Zweifach-Fung bifurcation effect in a single-particle ***,in two-particle systems where non-contact particle-particle interaction is present,decreasing the particle-to-particle distance reduces the bifurcation effect,while changing the Reynolds number has the same influence as in the single-particle *** results provide insight for optimizing the flow characteristics in bifurcating microchannels to separate the suspended particles.

Influences of adsorptions of some inorganic molecules on electronic, optical, and thermodynamic properties of Mg_(12)O_(12) nanocage: A computational approach

According to density functional theory, we investigate the effects of BF3, BF4, BCI3, A1F3, AICI3, A1Br3, 13eF3, GaF3, GaC13, GaBr3, NO3, BS2, BSO, BO2, F2, PFs, PC15, and ASF5 molecules on the geometric, electronic, linear, and nonlinear optical properties of an Mg12012 nanocage. The thermodynamic stability and feasibility of the adsorption process are investigated by analyzing the free energy. It is shown that the adsorptions of almost all molecules on the Mg12OI2 surface are exothermic. The calculations of the polarizability of these nanoclusters show that among the studied molecules, BeF3 has the largest influence on the polarizability value （a≈315 a.u., the unit a.u. is short for atomic unit）. The static first hyperpolarizability （β0） value is increased in the presence of these superhalogens. This increase is greatest for BeF3 and BF4 of which the highest value of the first hyperpolarizability （βO≈ 5775 a.u.） is related to a BeF3_c（e@Mgl2Ol2） nanocluster. The adsorption position is a key to estimating the value of increasing the first hyperpolarizability.

Synthesis of a PEBAX-1074/ZnO nanocomposite membrane with improved CO_2 separation performance

In this investigation, polymeric nanocomposite membranes（PNMs） were prepared via incorporating zinc oxide（ZnO） into poly（ether-block-amide）(PEBAX-1074) polymer matrix with different loadings. The neat membrane and nanocomposite membranes were prepared via solution casting and solution blending methods, respectively. The fabricated membranes were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy（FESEM） to survey cross-sectional morphologies and thermal gravimetric analysis（TGA）to study thermal stability. Fourier transform infrared（FT-IR） and X-ray diffraction（XRD） analyses were also employed to identify variations of the chemical bonds and crystal structure of the membranes, respectively. Permeation of pure gases, CO, CHand Nthrough the prepared neat and nanocomposite membranes was studied at pressures of 3–18 bar and temperature of 25 °C. The obtained results showed that the fabricated nanocomposite membranes exhibit better separation performance compared to the neat PEBAX membrane in terms of both permeability and selectivity. As an example, at temperature of 25 °C and pressure of 3 bar, COpermeability, ideal CO/CHand CO/Nselectivity values for the neat PEBAX membrane are 110.67 Barrer, 11.09 and 50.08, respectively, while those values are 152.27 Barrer,13.52 and 62.15 for PEBAX/ZnO nanocomposite membrane containing 8 wt% ZnO.

Sol-gel derived nanocrystalline and mesoporous barium strontium titanate prepared at room temperature

Perovskite-type barium strontium titanate （BST） thin films and powders with nanocrystalline and mesoporous structure were prepared by a straightforward particulate sol-gel route at room temperature. The prepared sol had a narrow particle size distribution of about 20 nm. X-ray diffraction （XRD） revealed that phase composition and preferable orientation growth of BST depended upon the annealing temperature. Transmission electron microscope （TEM） images showed that the crystallite size of the powders decreased with increasing annealing temperature from 8 nm at 25 ℃ down to 5 nm at 800 ℃. Field emission scanning electron microscope （FE-SEM） analysis and atomic force microscope （AFM） images revealed that BST thin films had mesoporous and nanocrystafiine structure with average grain size of 3Onm at 600 ℃. Based on Brunauer-Emmett-Teller （BET） analysis, the synthesized BST showed mesoporous structure containing nnres with needle, and nlate shanes and BET surface area in the range of 49-32 m^2/g at 500-800℃

Synthesis and Characterization of Indium Niobium Oxide Thin Films via Sol—Gel Spin Coating Method

In the present study, niobium-doped indium oxide thin films were prepared by sol-gel spin coating technique. The effects of different Nb-doping contents on structural, morphological, optical, and electrical properties of the films were characterized by means of X-ray diffraction （XRD）, field emission scanning electron microscopy （FESEM）, atomic force microscopy （AFM）, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and four point probe methods. XRD analysis confirmed the formation of cubic bixbyite structure of In203 with a small shift in major peak position toward lower angles with addition of Nb. FESEM micrographs show that grain size decreased with increasing the Nb-doping content. Optical and electrical studies revealed that optimum opto-electronic properties, including minimum electrical resistivity of 119.4 × 10^-3 Ω cm and an average optical transmittance of 85% in the visible region with a band gap of 3.37 eV were achieved for the films doped with Nb-doping content of 3 at.%. AFM studies show that addition of Nb at optimum content leads to the formation of compact films with smooth surface and less average roughness compared with the prepared ln2O3 films.
