This research focuses on modeling a multi-zone circulating reactor (MZCR) in the polypropylene production process. In these reactors, designed for polyolefin production, small catalyst particles (20-300 mm) initiate polymerization in the presence of monomer gas. The reactor consists of two main regions: the riser and the downer. The riser operates in the fast fluidization and the downer is in the moving b.d regime. Employing the two-fluid model with the Eulerian-Eulerian approach, the dynamics of b.th solid and gas phases were modeled b. applying Newton's laws of motion and assuming spherical particles. The population b.lance of particles within the reactor was also coupled with the equations of motion. The simultaneous solution of these equations provides valuab.e insights into particle and fluid b.havior, revealing trends such as the growth of polymer particles. Furthermore, the impact of various operating conditions was explored. This study also examined the effects of design parameters (gas inlet velocity, average inlet diameter, and temperature) on the system performance. For instance, it was shown that in the case where the solid circulation flux is 30 kg/(m2 2 s) the velocity of particles in the b.d increases from 0.4 at the inlet to 1.1 m/s in the fully developed zone, when it is 43 kg/(m2 2 s) the velocity of particles increases from 0.3 to 1.4 m/s, and when it is 55 kg/(m2 2 s), it is increased from 0.22 to 1.5 m/s. Additionally, trends in particle size distrib.tion b.sed on temperature adjustments were revealed. This study showed that higher temperatures accelerate the polymerization reaction rate, promoting faster growth kinetics and the formation of larger particles. Nitrogen-rich heterocyclic energetic compounds (NRHECs) and their salts have witnessed widespread synthesis in recent years. The sub.tantial energy-density content within these compounds can lead to potentially dangerous explosive reactions when sub.ected to external stimuli such as electrical discharge. Therefore, developing a reliab.e model for predicting their electrostatic discharge sensitivity (ESD) b.comes imperative. This study proposes a novel and straightforward model b.sed on the presence of specific groups (-NH2 or -NH-, -N = N+ -O(- )and -NNO2, -ONO2 or -NO2) under certain conditions to assess the ESD of NRHECs and their salts, employing interpretab.e structural parameters. Utilizing a comprehensive dataset comprising 54 ESD measurements of NRHECs and their salts, divided into 49/5 training/test sets, the model achieves promising results. The Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), Mean Ab.olute Error (MAE), and Maximum Error for the training set are reported as 0.16 J, 0.12 J, and 0.5 J, respectively. Notab.y, the ratios RMSE(training)/RMSE(test), MAE(training)/MAE(test), and Max Error(training)/Max Error(test) are all greater than 1.0, indicating the rob.st predictive capab.lities of the model. The presented model demonstrates its efficacy in providing a reliab.e assessment of ESD for the targeted NRHECs and their salts, without the need for intricate computer codes or expert involvement. In this work, linear and mass attenuation coefficients, half and tenth-value layers, effective atomic numb.r and electron density of different types of concretes were determined at 316.51, 468.07, 511, 662, 1173 and 1332 keV using MCNP-4C code and Win XCom programs. The MCNP-4C and Win XCom results agreed well with each other, with differences of \±1.9%. The results agreed with availab.e experimental data, too, with differences of \±6%.The MCNP-4C results showed b.tter agreement with the experimental data than the Win XCom results. Also, it was found that the effective electron density of studied concretes varies in the range of(2.83–3.2) 9 10^(23)electron/g.
